Welcome back to the Dreamland Chronicles!
As most of you may know by now, I have been unable to work with the CGI files for some time now.
Tracy Bailey will be taking over with the art duties to help finish the series.
Tracy and I have worked on several projects together and she is an amazing talent and a good friend.
I know the transition may be a bit off-putting for those of you who came here due to the unique 3D art I’ve employed for the last 13 years… but Ā I truly hope the STORY is what has kept you reading along.
For those of you wanting to see the original 60+ pages I had already created in CGI for Chapter 21… you can download it here:

Tracy is working diligently to update 5 times a week. So come back each day and let her know how much we all appreciate her effort.
As you may have noticed in the banners… we are now on Patreon. Yay.
Any money coming in from your monthly contribution will go towards the “Thank you Tracy Bailey for saving Dreamland” fund.
š
I am paying Tracy a per-page rate. So do NOT feel pressure to do so. This is just for those who have asked for me to set up a Patreon.
Thank you all.
Here’s to finishing the series!
Scott
Hilariously appropriate first line, Scott. I’m really excited for the new pages, not bothered by the change in art style at all =)
I can only imagine how challenging it must be having to push forward without the CGI assets. I’ve been following quietly for a number of years now, and have actually been building out CGI assets for my own comic recently, so I can commiserate with the amount of effort it must have taken to get so far.
I must say, Tracy’s work manages to capture the heart that the CGI work did previously in my own humble opinion. Looking forward to seeing how she renders the nightmare horde of Abaddon. Keep up the great work!
She does well so far. Though I wonder if there is a way to keep the original pages available online in a normal way rather than via drop box only? I think it would be awesome to be able to easily see both versions…
To bad you couldn’t continue on with the 3d images, but this art looks just as great!
I am hoping you will be able to complete the story now, and in the end maybe even make this into a series, or a move.
Good luck to both you Scott, and to Tracy.
Very appropriate start!
Not really bothered about the loss of 3d -this kid used to love the dead-tree comics of the 1950s š
Boy, did I luck out. I check my links to so-called “dead” sites every 1st and 15th…missed the announcement, caught the first revival. Back in my “live” sites section, and good luck.
I’m looking forward to the remainder of this chapter and when will the final chapter commence?
Yay! so happy to see this back! while the 3D art was certainly interesting, I still prefer 2D in general. It must be pretty hard to transition Scott’s world from 3D to 2D, though, it’s so involved. You can do it, Tracy!
Thank you all!
Excited to be back in Dreamland with you again.
On one hand I feel a bit sad – knowing how much work, time and sweat already went into those CGIs it must be a real downer to have to do everything again in 2d.
On the other hand its a cool opportunity to see someone else’s talent at work. It’s refreshing and enlightening – and already the first page proofs how well the spirit of DC got captured!!!
Overall I’m just glad the story continues – no matter what š
Great to see it back! Thanks to Tracy for coming in to help finish it! I’m assuming we’re starting at the beginning of the chapter again? (I.e. These were pages that had been done in the previous style?)
Shoot. I need to learn to read the commentary more closely.
I had to go look at the original to make sure she wasn’t using the original background.
Does Hollywood still use matte artists? Seems like something she’d be perfect for.
Great to see the Dreamland Chronicles back, in whichever format. Thank you so much for not letting them die.
It’s great to see Dreamland again!!! Scott, we never doubted that you’d finish the story. Tracy, your artwork looks great!!
Whoo! So good to see Dreamland back. š
I’ll miss the CGI, but Iām amazed at how similar the style is. Looks great!
Yay, it’s back! I am pleased!
I see Daniel dropped the armor he’d conjured up during the fight with Abaddon. He doesn’t need it, really, and it might have been cumbersome to wear (and draw). As long as he’s in control of his dream self, he’s almost invulnerable.
And it’s the Nightmare Realm, Nic; of COURSE it doesn’t look good! That’s the whole point!
…And were back and at the beginning of the chapter again (Appropriate to give the last chapter Continuity in style) I do hope when you launch the Kickstarter for the final book that you include all the original CGI pages as a sort of extra feature. Thanks Scott and Thank You Tracy for taking the time to finish this story. I’m looking forward to the conclusion
Dan actually hasn’t conjured the armor or fought with Abbadon yet. We’ve gone back to the beginning of the chapter, so that happens in a few pages.
Yay! Welcome back and Welcome Tracy
Ah, I see. Thank you. It should be interesting what the second version of that fight looks like.
I’m just happy you are updating again. I cannot wait till Tracy is caught up and continues forward with the story. In rereading the chapter, I got to see some things I missed or forgotten about from the first go around. Thank you for reposting them.
I like the new art. It’ll be interesting to see the characters without the restraints of the 3D models. (That scene where Nastajia hugs Alexander in plainclothes with an armored gloved hand comes to mind)
Actually thought of something: considering that this is Dan’s first time in Dreamland that perhaps the new style of Dreamland is HIS interpretation of what it would look like. I know that we lost the 3D models and such, but this is how I am choosing to interpret it. š
So glad to see you back. I was always interested in the story, but I found the 3D models creepy, and gaps in time between updates discouraging to keep up my confidence that it would ever be completed. I just supported you on Patreon after seeing these 1.25 panels… Much improved, and I hope to see the previous chapters in an animated capacity, because I think it would be awesome
Tracey’s art looks amazing as always. She really captured the spirit of the Dreamland style. So glad to have my daily dose of Dreamland back. Now I just need to get back into the habit of checking it first thing in the morning.
Welcome back.
I definitely will miss the CGI style. It really WAS the thing that drew me to the comic, and what kept it unique (IMO), separate from the hundreds if not thousands of other webcomics out there. But, I will stick with it. I owe you that much, for the years I’ve been reading Dreamland.
It’s so cool to see you back in action again, and welcome aboard, Tracey! So excited to see how this series concludes. The art style looks perfect for finishing out the series, so no worries about the change in layout – she will do awesome!
Can’t wait for the pages that Tracey is redoing catch up to where the story left off.
LOL I kind of thought the same thing. Not because it is bad art, but just because it is so different. It is fitting this change would start with Daniel entering Dreamland.
