Hey all.
I want to first say thank you to my VERY good friend Stefano Tsai! You know Stefano as the guy who does the beautiful environments for The Dreamland Chronicles.
Well a couple weeks ago…I realized I hadn’t made the Medicine Bag yet. And needed it. THE NEXT DAY!
I emailed him some pictures and he WHIPPED THIS UP that night.

Also. I would like to everyone one Twitter who helped me come up with Bahta Alikchi. Especially @luksicreations who is from the Choctaw Tribe.
Supposedly Bahta Alikchi means Medicine Bag in the Choctaw language.
It’s so cool learning these things. And hopefully giving some reverence to the past. And some reality to my story. Thanks all!

greetings love the comic!!!! just a minor note my husband is Choctaw which is the correct spelling of the tribal name. we live in the Chickasaw area of Oklahoma. little known fact …did you know that the Choctaws and Chickasaws were originally one tribe?
Leftover and David made good points…I wonder if the bag will travel between worlds like the sword? And possibly help Daniel and/or Nicole break down the barrier…rampant speculation, I know, but hey. 🙂

I can’t help but stare at that last panel, if you change that bag with a baby, you’ll know why I can’t help it. >xD
And as another throwaway, I like the desktop image. 🙂 I think we’ll see Something of the bag… The way he specified both worlds before giving it to him… but remember how different the sword is from one world to the other. 😉
I do follow Phoenix Requim, but I like Dreamland better because I feel more involved in Dreamland.. like I’m with Alex on his journey. Whereas in Phoenix I have a raised eyebrow through most of the updates. haha. It’s just a matter of opinion. I do like both artwork and that is the main reason I follow. But as I said before I like being with Alex on his journey better.
Definite Huge Kudos to Stefano. The bag looks super and super cute! 😀 Although, I am wondering: why is Natshaja interacting with Orion when Orion originally addressed Alex?? It just looks a little off to me for some reason.

At least that’s what happened in my head just then. Might just be me though.
*I* knew they (Choctaw and Chickasaw) were one tribe, but then I graduated from Nowata county and most of my siblings are still living in Oklahoma.
When we last visited OK, my kids thought the “dual language” (Cherokee & English) on some buildings in Talequah was cool.
Kudos to Mister Tsai! Indeed a beautifully designed bag.
Dreamland is still my fave.
The funny thing is- about TwoKinds, is that it doesn’t update normally and yours does. It really shouldn’t be number one. But that’s just my opinion. It’s all about the cat girls I guess. Since you have a desktop of Felicity maybe you’ll be number one. You really deserve it Scott.

phoenix requiem? i’ve seen that two kinds one, half as good as this masterpiece, so i’m wondering if you’re right about this one. lets see…
looks brilliant, but I always look for that little bit of ‘heart’ in it. you always find that the ones with tons of effort in them have no ‘willpower’, and I can always tell if the comic has that ‘essence’.
without this ‘soul’ it does not even compare slightly to your comic. really.
The graphics are still fantastic. I sure wish I could detail a drawing like those of Stephano’s. I suppose those dark images on Orion as well as Nastajia and Alex are shadows as the images are not constant over Orions headpiece and arm?

What will the mysterious medicine hold? And will it transfer to the waking world like Alex’s sword? Heh… sorry, I’m always like that. Great comic, and I think this comic is #1 where it counts; great story, great art, and great characters.

@ overlordlaharl79: I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure the “magic feather” gag is a reference to the film “Dumbo” where he was given a “magic feather” (that wasn’t) to fly; he didn’t need it, but thought he did.
As to 2kinds and Phoenix Requiem – I found you from Phoenix Requiem, though I tailed off following it and still regularly check 2kinds (more often than it updates apparently :P)
Are you crazy Scott? Giving up now? The month has hardly begun and you’re only trailing by 2000 some odd votes! You can totally catch up to them man! I’m gonna keep voting for you every day. I’m even gonna come back just to vote on the weekends until we succeed in making The Dreamland Chronicles #1! =) I recently started reading TwoKinds, and impressive as it is you’ve got superior graphics and more frequent (and more consistent) updates on your side, which I for one think more than balances out the catgirl sex appeal of TwoKinds. Haven’t checked out The Phoenix Requiem yet, but I’m sure you can take on that one too! Go forth, and let nothing stand in the way of your total domination of the webcomics universe! =D
Hey about the Phoenix Requiem and 2Kinds deserving to kicking your butt on Topwebcomics. I don’t think so, dreamland cronicals is just as good story wise, and better art wise.
Was the gift for Alexander or Nastajia? Orion says the gift is for him, yet Nastajia is the one who responds the whole strip.

I love how the centaur world is a parallel with the Native American one. It’s perfect for their role as healers and generally wise creatures. Plus that body painting is the shiz.

If Felicity did half the stuff Flora does, this comic would be untouchable in number one, but it also wouldn’t be the same. I’d rather keep it how it is and just accept being in the top ten as good enough. Not that there’s anything wrong with more Felicity…
