Page 783…
Ok…excuses time.
I had to do this page a week ago…just hours before leaving for Philadelphia.
I didn’t want you guys to not have a page. So…here we are.
The reason why I say this is…I usually like to play around a bit with the lighting and such. I’m not happy with the lighting. So I may go back and redo this when I get home.
Ok…I’m done.
🙂
Â
We’re on our way back to Philadelphia…then on a plane back to Nashville.
I hope you enjoyed this week and I’ll see you guys on Monday. Have a great weekend.
Scott
How cute! This is where I would have spent my childhood…
I have seen the light…. 😛 Alex seems a bit nervous. 😀
I agree with Limax, Alex does seem a bit nervous.
And they’re off to see Paddington
Apparently their parents never told them not to talk to strangers with plate armor and giant swards strapped to their backs. (This isn’t a criticism, just an observation!)
Haha,
well it is dreamland!
So, bad areas are in the nightmare realm.
🙂
PS Scott, don’t be so hard on yourself. It looks great!
I agree with Dutch. I think they want to do some dancing. Centaurs must know some complicated dances since they have four feet to move about with.
I actually like the lighting. I thought nothing of it until I read the comment beneath the picture…
Looks great to me Scott
but its YOUR story and we just have the pleasure of reading the results, so do what you gotta do … that said this version looks fine to me
@Dani: I totally agree with you. I would be here every night. 🙂
Me like centaurs..! 😛 Lighting looks fine to me too, by the way! And I really like these tyo kiddy centaurs! 😀
Awww…. Cute kids….
Of course he’s nervous. One of his friends just got beat up badly.
And Scott? The page does seem a little darker than the other ones. That being said, it’s not a glaring change, and it certainly is just fine.
Awwww, centaur children! Such cute little colts!
I think I see what you’re talking about Scott. The lighting is a little dark on the characters’ faces. All in all though, I have to say this is such an adorable page. ‘Course, an old Grampa like me is a soft touch for the little kids.
The sheer diversity of this entire comic, there’s always a new aspect of their world to discover… and now centaurs! You know, if I could get funds together I really want to try and get copies of the books to add to my collection.
I’m glad that Dreamland isn’t all a facsimile of medieval Europe. The Old West and Native American styles are pretty rare in fantasies, with Kakariko Village in “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess” being the only example that comes to my mind.
Native American Centaurs…I have to applaud this. I have never before seen Native American Centaurs.
Hmm… Is it possible this is Alex’s first encounter with Centaurs?
Dreamland is a fairly large place, so it’s entirely possible he’s not met any, or at least hasn’t met any in a very long time.
Please say you’re planning on making centaur plushes too! They look so cuddly and adorable!
I’m so excited about this storyline involving the centaurs… it’s looking to be awesome =]
Hey, that’s a darling little filly there, not a colt! They are adorable, and wanna see more, more, more!!
Hmm, would centaurs as plushies look right, though?
How come Alex stopped hitting on any young female in sight? That was funny, but he dropped that habbit after reunion with Nastaja. Weird.
I can imagine the next panel:
Girl: What do they look like?
Alex: Well, they have only two legs . . .
I like how the Centaurs are native american-ish, very original.
Scott, i just found this on amazon:
“The Dreamland Chronicles: The Strange and Continuing Saga of Area 51”
Hey Caffi…
Yeah. There was a few “Dreamland Chronicles” books out there when I last checked. And even a failed video game.
🙂
It’s all good, though.
Jonathan S. Fox, in a prairie culture, especially a tribal one, there isn’t so much danger in talking to strangers. Adults are always around anyway in a camp or village like this. Third, this is dreamland; children are well protected in general. So, I’m not surprised that she’s so friendly. 40 years ago, this would have been the norm in all small towns, and many cities.
I also like how the boy was in such a hurry, but circled back to see what Alex was about.
Summer: “Oh, hello. I can kill you with my mind.”
They let their children run around naked?
Would centaurs swing their arms the same way that humans (or other bipeds) would?
… At some level, I reckon centaurs should be covering up their lower bodies too… not just upper. I mean think about it: just having a horse for a butt wouldn’t be enough to convince you to leave said butt naked… would it? You wouldn’t think of yourself as part human, part horse, and treat the two parts differently; you’d think of yourself as an entity in your own right and treat your whole body the same way.
