Bwahah! It’s Felicity! We knows it!
It’d make sense, really, because then Alex can go ask Felicity a whole bunch of things that only her and Nicole would know, then that would be pretty good proof.
AHA!!! Yes! She DID play with Felicity!!! Didn’t I say that Scott was just trying to throw us off??? 😛
This has been said before, I’m sure, but Nicole seriously needs to lighten up. I’m curious if something bad may have happened to her in Dreamland that made her reject the whole idea and try to forget what happened by saying that it was all just a dream?
What was it I saw the other day? Some cartoon where the loser in question was being told by their imaginary friend that it was time they started seeing other people.
I just thought of a way for Alex to give Nicole something to think about. If changes to his body show up both here and there, he should challenge her to put some kind of mark on his body where he can’t see it – like dying a small patch of hair on the back of his head a different color – just before he goes to sleep. Then all Alex has to do is ask one of his friends in Dreamland to tell him what it looks like.
When he wakes up, he can tell her what the color is. If he really wants to mess with her mind, he can tell her he used a mirror in Dreamland to see for himself. It’d be fun watching her trying to explain away that one!
Not going to happen though. Ah well…. It’d be far more likely for them to try to think of a way to use Alex’s cousin for some sort of confirmation. Which Nicole would put down to his just being a kid.
Short of finding a way to have Nicole turn up in Dreamland herself – or finding her old imaginary friends to dig up some childhood dirt on her – I don’t see Nicole being convinced by anything they say.
xax’s experiment sounds fun.
And yes, I think we’re gonna find out more stuff about Nicole and her relation to Dreamland and maybe even possibly why she is studying dreams.
content – a typo in your post is irrelevant, but in the comic itself…
‘it’s’ – in today’s comic is incorrect. You only need an apostrophe (EVER) when ‘it’s’ is a contraction for ‘it is’ – but if you are speaking in the possessive form, as Nicole is, then ‘We haven’t even begun to understand its capabilities.’ is correct grammar. I have actually corrected the grammar of the entire sentence – I think Nicole – of all people – would use proper grammar. If you are open to it, I feel certain that your readers are willing to make these corrections as move ahead! 😉
i have just one thing to say:
Felicity!!!!!!
HA! I knew she just needed a little reminder… Felicity!
Thanks Spas/Michelle I kept going back and forth on that darn apostrophe. I couldn’t decide.
I’ll fix that thing!
VOTED!
Isn’t that Daniel & Alex’s point–that kids all over the world have dreamed this crazy stuff so there might be more to it all? lol. Guess it all depends on worldview/perspective!
Well… I’m guessing that must be Felicity. But maybe you’ll surprise us…
Hehe, can’t vote because I’m not American. For the record though, according to BBC Radio 2 80% of the UK want Obama to win. Having said that, I reckon about 5 people actually called in and voted xD
Scott… just remember that it’s is a contraction meaning ‘it is’ also, it’s one of the hardest things to get correct in the English language… judging by the number of times it’s used incorrectly. (I *almost* used the other form as a ‘joke’)
Oh… and I voted last week. (On travel in LA YET AGAIN… Argh!)
Even Nicole’s been to dream land at one point!
I might be totally wrong about this, but I think that Daniel’s the real king of Dream land. That would explain why he’s never been there. Maybe it was to protect him from harm.
Thanks all. I fixed the It’s/Its thing.
🙂
oh, that is an interesting theory TheeNightmareQueen… but then, the sword is the sword of kings and Alex was able to pull it out.
How I find it easiest to gauge which version of “It’s/Its” to use is since “Its” is possessive, and the word “His” is possessive as well, ends with an ‘s’, and has no apostrophe, I substitute “his” for “its” and see if it would still work. If it does, then I use “its”. Seems a complicated way of doing it, but for the sake of correct grammar, I think it’s worth it.
As far as the comic is concerned, I am not so sure that Nicole is Felicity. After all, Felicity is a cat woman and don’t humans keep their form in Dreamland? I guess we’ll have to tune in to find out. I know I will. 🙂
@ Squirrel King: No. We mean Felicity was her friend in Dreamland. 🙂
And yes, I think Scott was just tryin’ to throw us off. 😉
Shouldn’t Nicole listen to herself? If there are thousands of kids across the world who talked about Dreamland, doesn’t that mean Alex is one of them? And what she said about the mind, doesn’t that mean there’s a possibility that Alex could travel to another world via the mind?
I VOTED!!! WHOO!!! Now I just have to watch the TV constantly and pray that my candidate wins…
Just voted too…yay!
Oh…and Donna did too. 🙂
“You think your Dreamland Chronicles are so unique?”
Is it just me or is she proving the opposite of her point? The fact that they’re NOT unique would prove their point, not hers.
Ha!!! I knew it!
I think she (Nicole) has childhood issues. 😛
my idea is seeming more and more likely every page.
People keep saying this means she HAS to be a former Dreamland person but that’s assuming that all dreams go to Dreamland. : |
I’m starting to think that maybe Nicole’s dreamland alter ego is the dwarven king! They certainly have about the same level of closeminded stubbornness.
Another way to get its/it’s: Use the form “It is”. If it makes sense, it’s with the apostrophe. If not, it’s without.
Maybe Nicole will convince herself yet…
OMG u guyz r sooo smart!
the stuff u figure out like that felicity and nicole thing, is somthing i wouldnt of figured out in a million yrs!!
but still it might not b true 😉
who cares about the US? australia is better.
well actually she played WITH felicity as a small child. it was hinted to before
I voted too and I predict that Obama will win the election… (No peeking at the date of this post allowed) 😉
Considering that the four posts above yours on this chronological list are from 2009, that hardly seems necessary.
Whether she would or not, the text shown is an adaptation of her dialogue, and bow “its” and “it’s” are pronounced the same way. Whether it is “correct” or not is only relevant in the context of written text, absolving Nicole of responsibility.
And I assume you have some reason for starting your paragraphs in the lower case?
