Page 740…
Yes. Bognok hit him. He hit him good too…
Thanks all for liking where this is going. I know I’ve been saying how excited I am about this chapter. So I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying it.
I’ve been trying to think of how I can wrap up the Baltimore Con nicely. But honestly I didn’t take any pictures or anything. I just socialized for the first time. It was really cool.
But still…I’ll try over the next couple days.
First off…
There was a webcomics panel with Halfpixel, Danielle Corsetto, and myself.
You can read about it here….
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=18249
Secondly…I got to meet Kris Straub…
Brad Guigar…
And Dave Kellett…
They (Along with Scott Kurtz of PVP) form Halfpixel.
They were kind enough to take me out for desert on Friday night and treat me like an equal. As a pal.
Then at the panel the next day and at the bar that night after the Harveys…I got to hang out more with them.
These are seriously FUNNY people. Really nice. And totally talented.
I can’t thank the Halfpixel guys enough for “taking me in” for the weekend and letting me hang with them.
Thanks!
Then there was Danielle Corsetto…
http://www.daniellecorsetto.com/gws.html
She and Katie hung out with me and chatted me up so I could pretend to be social.
We never got to do dinner (because I just couldn’t bring myself to eat Sushi…yuck)…but they went out of their way to invite me everywhere they went.
And finally (for this update)…
There’s the guys at Kids Love Comics…
http://kidslovecomics.blogspot.com/
I got to hang out with Rich Faber for Dinner on Saturday. It was great just paling around with a friend. We had a great time.
Cons are always great with these guys. They bring so much enthusiasm and joy to comics and especially KIDS COMICS.
The walking through the pouring rain with 50 pounds of books and the outdoor book festival I could have done without. But I was glad that Jimmy Gownley and Frank Commuso could “share in the experience” with me.
Dinner on Sunday night with John Gallagher, Rich, Harold Buchholz, and Ted Tucker and his wife Marie was great.
Ted and his wife were SO cool. They even gave me a lift to the airport. Thanks you two. It was great meeting you.
So much more to talk about. But I’ll leave that for tomorrow’s update.
In the meanwhile. Please feel free to check out the links…and I’ll try to post more tomorrow.
Thank you for reading. I hope you’re enjoying this. I need to keep working. Gotta stay ahead of the schedule you know.
🙂
YES!! Been waiting for that to happen! Nic’s been asking for that. Long time reader, first time commenting. I’ve been enjoying the story so much.
Ha, finally!
‘Bout stinkin’ time someone him – but as they say, good things come to those who wait.
haha, That was good. I’m sure it would have been more satisfying if I wasn’t reading only one page at a time. everything was so much better back when I was reading like 20. lol. 😉 maybe I should start waiting a week before reading. lol.
Now, if this could just be followed closely with a slice and dice session from Excalibur (….was I supposed to let that slip? ;P) we’ll be good.
Otherwise, we could be looking at Dwarf gibblets soon. (noooonononononono, please no?)
ghehe, there goes his other eye, if i’m seeing correct where the green blood is flowing from ^^
hehe, finally, that wordy dragon get’s what he has coming to him all the time. Never mess with ’em sturdy dwarfs! :-)) I’m just so delighted to see that page.
I am hereby impressed! It’s hard to believe Nic used to be a good guy. Just goes to show.
I am a huge fan of the HalfPixel quartet. I read them every day, just like I do Dreamland. I went to ComicCon last year and got them to draw some sketches for me.
If that doesn’t teach Nick something, then it will be best to repeat the process.
I can’t help thinking of this page as fanservice ;).
Krakaboom?
Brings back memories from the old batman series 😀
yes to the slice & dice! go alex!
also, sweet briefing from baltimore – i’m glad you’re making friends with the webcomics clan. i hate sushi too, and i am an adult, but the way you said it reminded me of a little kid – cute! i love girls with slingshots – the woman hits close to home.
Grraarr!!! He may get eaten, he may get deposed, but he’s shown that the big scaly one is fallible and vulnerable.
Sorry, but this was quiet clear that Bognok was only this big so he could take on Nick.
Thank you all. This was truly a fun page. Though tomorrow’s is actually one of my favorites. 🙂
Oh…and Naracs. You give me too much credit. As I’ve said before. Bognok was only made that size because I thought it was cool. This fight is purely serendipitous.
I’ve planned a lot of Dreamland. Bognok’s size to fight Nick wasn’t in my plans.
Thanks though.
When I was a sports league registrar, and later as a referee, I learned that the only people whose praise touched me were my peers.
I’m glad you got to hook up with those other artists.
KRAKABOOM!!! That was freaking sweet!
Long time reader, first time poster. That truly was a great and amazing moment! Been following this strip for a over a year now and have to say that this is something I’d been dying to see ever since Bognok appeared. Its officially made one of my favourite comic moments ever.
Keep up the great tale.
Oh, and can we get that last shot as a desktop at some point? Would be ace!
And the dwarf swings for the bleachers and hit a homerun, dragon regretting getting wordy and insulting said dwarf’s ancestors.
When I hit people it never goes “KRAKABOOM!” What am I doing wrong?
…other than, you know, hitting people.
When I hit people it never goes “KRAKABOOM!†What am I doing wrong?
…other than, you know, hitting people.
Umm… like,…
You’re not living in Dreamland..?
sounds a bot wierdf for a bashin’ sound, but I like it
(I would put LOVEFIST’D for it in place, but that’s just me)
Huge green dwarf on the rampage!
At the moment, I keep wondering how in all that is evil is Nic supposed to get out of those tunnels alive?
I mean, Scott already told us that we’re about halfway through the story…
It would seem rather strange to have the other half happen without the main villain in it, wouldn’t it?
Dwarf-smacked!!! YEAH!!!! Going from staring into space hm-ing and haw-ing (and almost killing our heros for betraying ‘da king’) to almost knocking Nic’s jaw clear off. ^_____^ weee!!! This is more like it!
Can we keep him in da group? canwe canwe canwe??? I want to see him get irritated and smack Alex around too! (ok that would send him flying.. but it would be funny!)
(and… does anyone else feel that a ‘giant dwarf’ sort of like a walking oxymoron…?)
at least they didn’t desert you in the desert without and dessert… sweet guys.
oh jeez, try to be funny and type and instead of any… d’oh!
YESSSS! Now crack him one on the other side of the noggin!
Now would be a good time to think about getting the amulet back and running. 🙂
KRAKABOOM!
Love it
Hey Scott sounds like you had a great time in Baltimore!
You should have gone for sushi, often they’ll have noodle or rice bowls on the menu too 🙂
Next up? Evil dragon starts spitting out broken teeth! Maces hurt!!
Nic did deserve this, however I do belive it was part of Nic’s plan to goat him into a fight. That way Bognok can be counted as a traitor and Nic can remove the last Dwarf stronghold. I think it is part of the plan! Only time will tell however…
… and the thunder rang out when the over-confident dragon talked of his kills to the dwarf king. The mace, hitting the dragon in the right spot, created a sound that could be heard throughout dreamland…
That would be the best sound effect for hitting someone.
Bognok said knock Nic out!
This page has made me very happy. Can I repeat the request a few posts earlier – that last frame would be Awesome as a desktop. 🙂
Why do I get the feeling Bognok’s about to get offed and our heroes are going to get the blame for it…
I hope next time they take you out for DESSERT instead of a DESERT. 🙂
PNWED
“You’re not living in Dreamland..?”
D’oh!
well its about time someone socked it to him
Yeaaaaaahhhhhh
you go giant dwarf boy
NEVER, EVER provoke a dwarf by saying you killed his ancestors!!!!
Krakaboom! Is that anywhere near Krakatoa? (OTOH, Bognok does look a bit explosive.)
WAY TO GO DWARF DUDE RIGHT IN THE FACE!!!!!
At least Bognok stopped him before he could get fully into his monologue.
bmonk: how’s that good? At least while Nick is monologuing, Alex has a perfect chance to get a lethal strike with the sword!
I think this one fits the comic:

Nice hit!
> You’re not living in Dreamland..?
Also, chances are good you’re not a 10′ tall giant dwarf swinging a mace that looks to weigh at least 50 lbs …
😉
yay
50 lbs? Hell, that mace is bigger than Alex is, and he looks to weigh around 175-200!
Where’s the KraKaBoom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering…
… oh, there was… just got deafened by it 😀 Go get ‘im Mr Dwarf-King-With-Duergar-Bloodline! ;p
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BOGNOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I gotta admit, this was way more satisfying than the smoochies.
