East meets West and Excalibur suddenly becomes Tenseiga, killing death’s messengers and saving Alex’s life? The miracle pill that is Excalibur’s sheathe needs to kick in some time soon and save him. I don’t expect him to get up and start dancing but a stable condition and a road map to recovery would be nice!
I have a first aid degree and I am biting my nails in frustration right now… mouth to mouth, guys. Is this so hard?! And one of them is a shaman, for crying out loud…
Finally! A comic strip about Alex where those around him say something other than, “He’s gonna die.”
“Eeeeyep. I’ve seen me many s dead man, and that right there is a one of ’em.”
And with all those sets of idle hands, maybe someone can check out his wounds and see if they can do something about the bleeding? Instead of just watching him bleed out and be like oh, too bad.
Are you sure it isn’t Coinspinner, cause he was really lucky with all those shadow crates getting blown up. Oh wait… that wouldn’t work out well later.
Okay, our healer failed his skill check to stabilize him, so sorry but your Paladin is gonna die. Maybe you can get to play one of the NPCs? Anyway, let’s loot him!
Shouldn’t they be a little more…surprised…or something…that he’s *physically there* and not a “dreamer”? Or have they just not noticed? You’d think that’d be a thing they’d notice.
From Wikipedia: “Excalibur’s scabbard was said to have powers of its own. Loss of blood from injuries, for example, would not kill the bearer. In some tellings, wounds received by one wearing the scabbard did not bleed at all.” I note that while Alex is massively bruised, he is not bleeding.
Or maybe the shaman looking guy is actually a skilled healer, and has realised the problem is a whole mess of internal injuries – which he can’t do anything about. Which tends to happen with underwater explosions… And possibly any other healers are busy trying to save the large number of dying/injured people of screen. You remember they were just in a large battle?
Could be that his body in Dreamland is a perfect copy of his “real” body. After all, he was “physically there” before, otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to, you know, interact with the world.
All valid points, but you can’t tell shattered lungs by just looking at him. And in spite of any internal damage, to prevent brain injury you have to supply air and make him breathe. This comes first, if the lungs are shattered, you can at least make an attempt and then just leave him be. Ah, well, I guess the comic has it’s reasons. Probably something to do with it being kid friendly and one man looking like kissing another may have been weird for some… I can understand the reasons, that just doesn’t mean I like the outcome of that reasoning. 😛
Mr. Shaman obviously also got distracted by the sword :3 He left his patient and is not evaluating if that’s the Sword of King or not. Not helping other people off screen.
Oops, Alex is no longer in contact with Excalibur and its sheath.
maybe not much time for trial and error folks. fun to watch though.

Indeed, but I’m running out of nails to chew.
‘Our friend is dying right before our eyes but let’s take a moment to check out this sweet looking sword’
It seems that Excalibur might not be well known in Dreamland…..!
That last is a pretty profound statement, coming from a Dwarf. Aren’t they reputed to have legendary metal working skills?
Bognok: Dibs on his sword!
“Well, he’s almost dead, close enough. Better get a head start on pawing through his bloody entrails.”

Sorry for repeating myself. But this is driving me crazy!

Geez man, you’re not supposed to loot bodies until *after* they’re dead…
*snort*
With the guy’s lungs most likely torn to pieces?
AUGHH! BOGNOK NO! PUT IT BACK PUT IT BACK PUT IT BACK!
How rude. He’s only mostly dead; you don’t go through people’s pocket until they’re all the way dead.
exactly my thought XD “oooohhh shiney!”
And with all those sets of idle hands, maybe someone can check out his wounds and see if they can do something about the bleeding? Instead of just watching him bleed out and be like oh, too bad.
If they do go through his clothes and look for loose change, it’s probably not going to be legal tender in Dreamland anyway.
lol! SQUIRELL!
dwarves are easily distracted by shiny things
excalibur and the sword in the stone are two different swords
Alex must have moved beyond “Mostly Dead.”
“Wait, this isn’t Excalibur! This is Woundhealer, the Sword of Mercy! Praise the Smith! Hurry and stab Alex with it!”
A sheathed sword is not put into action. Unsheathing the sword probably activates its power.
Well, he is beyond their help. They are mourning him in their own way. Plus, he is a dwarf, respect to weapons are big for them.
“Stab him! Stab him till he stops bleeding!”

Well, you know about fantasy and games.. you gotta lot the corpse.

exactly. lol.
eh, close enough!

Did Scott ever paint blood? Maybe we don’t see the blood because it would be horrible? Also, his clothes are partly turned red, I think that’s blood.
Thank you! My opinion exactly. They need to leave the EMPTY scabbard on him for him to get better. And for that idea, Bognok is actually helping.
