Kinda what I was thinking. Enjoy the calm for just a moment, Dan. Things are about to get really hectic, and I don’t think the King or Queen will be able to sleep at all in just a sec.
Dude! Is it at least a king size couch? Did you give them blankets? Did you show them where the bathroom was? Your desire to be the perfect host to royalty is commendable, but there ARE practical limits!
O_O The way Dan’s saying it, it sounds like he euthanized them. but that’s just probably me.
I hope it’s a pull-out couch at least! Y’know, Dan, it wouldn’t kill you to invest in an air-mattress for the next time you have last minute visiting otherworld royalty.
I’m fairly certain that Nic hasn’t ever had one of the kings in his “thrall.” He’s just been their advisor…and they decided whether or not to follow his advice.
I also don’t know that Nic would gladly serve any human at this point. Remember his rant about humans when he destroyed the tablet at the centaur’s village? He talked about how ruthless Gaius Julius Caesar was…and it didn’t sound like a compliment.
Nic isn’t inherently evil. He’s just acted incredibly horribly in the name of “the good of Dreamland.” Granted, you could say that many so-called “evil” dictators believed that what they were doing was “good” for some reason or another, but Nic wasn’t acting on delusions or crazed ideas. He was acting on serious misinformation that never got cleared up (he was told that Rameses was going to invade Dreamland with an army) and his general experiences with humans that followed that unfortunate misunderstanding (interacting with ruthless, power-hungry humans who ruled Dreamland and then seeing Arthur try to find a way to bring other adult humans to Dreamland in spite of Nic’s adamant disapproval of the idea). He has reason to believe that humans are not good for Dreamland and that having one rule Dreamland would lead to the destruction of his home and the people who lived there. It’s just that his reasons were not fully based on fact and he acted on them in an underhanded way.
If Nic had actually been the advisor to Hitler…and Hitler had ruled Dreamland and wanted to enact some of his more disgusting ideas on the people living there…we probably wouldn’t think of Nic as evil for overthrowing the king. We just feel that way because it was Arthur, and Arthur has long been viewed as a “good guy” in the eyes of Western society.
You have to give Scott credit for developing a much more complex “bad guy” for his kid-friendly comic than just someone who is deranged or flat-out “evil.” 🙂
Oh Dan…you’re so silly. 🙂 I guess they don’t have a guest room (and now that I think of it, their cousin Joey did sleep on the floor between Alex & Dan’s beds back when he was visiting). I’d imagine that most people without guest rooms probably have either a sleeper-sofa or a good amount of sleeping bags and extra pillows. 🙂
you’re about to feel worse, Dan…
Kinda what I was thinking. Enjoy the calm for just a moment, Dan. Things are about to get really hectic, and I don’t think the King or Queen will be able to sleep at all in just a sec.
Oh,Dan you have NO idea the pain you’re about cause Alex and the woman(elf) he loves!
And how would the king and queen take the news of Nastajia’s “death?”
Would this be first world problems? Or .. Dream world problems .. bah ..
Dragon problems. Ha! Dragons… -_-
Royalty problems :p
oh heck yeah!

Well that was an unexpected but much appreciated bit of humor. No worries, Dan, nobody’s sleeping tonight. Poor Alex *sob* will make sure of that.

Pfffftt… Hahahaha! Such a royal welcome! 😀
1. It is not Dan’s fault that this is happening, so he isn’t the one causing pain.
2. If Alex believes Nic for a second about Nastajia, he’s nuts.
Zoinks…Alex is going to wake up in a panic!
Haha, this page gave me a good laugh! 😀
Well that’s not exactly something you could plan for, Elf King and Queen dropping by. Kinda unexpected. Dan’s just so sweet.
If Nicodemus couldn’t control Alex, maybe Dan would be much easier to manipulate!
Was Arthur ever under the thrall of Nicodemus?
Imagine Hitler as King of Dreamland, surely Nicodemus would gladly serve him?!?
Oh, I don’t know that Dan is as easily led as all that. He’s quiet, but I don’t think that equates to weak-willed.
Well, they may be on the couch…
But at least it’s a fold-out. Right?
I’m so glad there’s another member of the Dan Fan Club here. 🙂

Oh well,so much for seeing if Dreamland has any Aryan looking elves!
