Page 1559…
Another week gone!
Sigh.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this week. On Tuesday, we return to the real world for a bit.
I’d REALLY like for us to reach our first PUSH GOAL this week if we could.
We’re only a few hundred dollars away.
This would mean FREE copies of Ed’s Terrestrials for everyone at $25 and up.
🙂
We have a LONG way to go until we hit $35k (our Push goal for the Nicodemus Plush).
So PLEASE help us spread the word on our Kickstarter!
Aww so cute Alexander <3
I really wish I could help you out. Poor college student me has no money though. I have to get books with classes starting next week, and even as it is I'm not sure I'm going to have enough :/ So anyone who can help out, do! It's amazing all the work he does for us to put out the comic, let's help out some shall we? 🙂
Also, I will be incredibly jealous of anyone who gets the Nic plush. It sounds adorable!
Is it just me, or is Alexander not quite as… translucent as he usually is when he’s waking up? If he hadn’t mentioned it, I probably wouldn’t have known until the next page (or so) when he’s back IRL (that, of course being a relative term).
How cute! Just like a little sword wielding puppy!
I don’t think he’s waking up on this page…just aware that he’s going to wake up soon. I’m assuming that being aware of that is one of the things he trained so hard to do while with Orion. 🙂
Yay Alex!! 😀
Okay, I’m wondering (given the laws of physics in our world) if Seraphopolis floats through the sky and Alex returns to a location relative to the one he just left, would Alex not rematerialize in the exact same spacial coordinates as when he left? This would mean if the floating kingdom happened to travel about twenty feet away from where it is now, Alex would come back in the same spot but twenty feet away from where he was when waking up.
No. He has always woken up in the same place in which he went to sleep. Remember when he was falling out of the tower in Astoria. Conversely, Wherever Alex was in Dreamland when he woke up, that is the point where he returns. i.e. his first night back in Dreamland with the sword necklace.
However, if this is a hypothetical question: I don’t know the answer. So… Yes.
Exactly: same place. Moving objects moved inbetween however (e.g. Nick left).
So if we consider Seraphopolis as a moving object, assuming it is floating around and not fixed, indeed Alex is in for a nice flight next time he wak… sleeps up.
😀
If that was really an issue here, then any Earth children in Seraphopolis, like the ones we saw in the background earlier this week, would have been having the same problem for as long as the Guardians have been saving children from the Nightmare Realm, so probably thousands of years. I’m sure they’re aware of the problem, and if the city is indeed moving, have used their techno-magic to make some kind of ‘beacon’ that keeps returning dreamers safe.
However, given that someone at some point was able to put Seraphopolis on a map, I can’t see it moving around too much. But, having Seraphopolis suddenly appear somewhere unexpected at some point would be…epic.
As I recall, Alex can now actually control when and whether he wakes up.
Aaaaawe. <3 Alex.
But Alex! What about Dan?! You have to go save him! Or I don’t know, but do something.
When did that happen? I don’t remember.
Can’t wait to see Dan and Nicole now. They’re growing on me.
A thought occurs to me. This is still the same trip to Dreamland in which Niviene laid her “Resign as King and let your brother assume his rightful place!” guilt trip on Alex. So when Alex wakes up, he’s not only going to have a LOT to tell Dan about history, floating cities, and the Nightmare Realm, he’s going to have a moral dilemma to ponder. Hopefully he’ll tell Dan about that, too, and the brothers will reach a decision and present a united front towards a certain pushy mermaid.
So now how many pages will be set back in the real world? Perhaps Alex and Dan will plan some kind of assault on the Nightmare Realm.
If Alex continues to be in Dreamland after this,Niviene will show him a side of her that no other has seen. “YOU CONTINUE TO DEFY ME?!?!? EVEN AFTER YOUR BROTHER IS NOW KING BY BEING IN DREAMLAND? YOU LEAVE ME NO CHOICE ALEXANDER CARTER–I WILL USE THE SPELL OF BANISHMENT!!” She would say and if there is such a spell. If Alex is no longer welcome in Dreamland, will Nastajia also suffer his fate or be heartbroken once again???
Panel 3: 🙁
Panel 4: 🙂
Heh heh heh. 😀
I think, if I remember, it was in the classes with Orion on the plateau.
It all depends on how magic works, but I would think that returning–whether by dream or teleport–would return to the same “area” as defined on the human scale: not the same place relative to Earth, or (especially) to the Solar System or galaxy, which could get pretty messy, but relative to this room or this plaza, and so on.
When did Nast’ get the sun tan?
