The rain drops on the characters is actually just a style I add to a seperate layer that gives the look of water.
Something I just whipped up. But seems to work fine when I paint in the drops.

I’m amazingly underwhelmed by this speech. I hope it’s ironic – I’ll like it a lot better if it turns out they don’t need to fight at all.

Wow. The lighting and drama in the last few pages is just amazing. Especially the details of the rain falling on Nastajia’s cheek and the rain on the Dreamlander army.

Long preamble is long…
I just caught up with the story again. I find the fact that it is raining, or pouring, interesting. Does it foretell a good man’s death? Or a good woman’s? No, no, don’t tell! The speach is great, and her pacing the line is good, a bit expected, but well done. Oh, and please do not cheapen it by a ‘fist pump’. Damn fine work!
Those of you who think this is long have to remember, when you’re getting it one day at a time, it’s not moving at the speed of a real speech. Sheesh! So far it’s barely a minute long. I’d say that’s reasonable for a pre-battle-to-the-death speech.
And it’s really good!
Can’t wait for the rest!

I still think you had the “Independence Day” speech stuck in your head when you were writing this. I know I kept picturing Bill Pullman standing there instead of Nastajia.
Maybe I’m missing something here but this one and the previous wide angle shots in the last few pages with the city in the background show blue skies under the bridge. Is that like a portal or something? Oh… I just realized while looking at it again that it’s a waterfall…
