How interesting….
Good choice, Authur.
Wow. This place looks just like it did in chapter 1. Which is to say, it’s a marked contrast on how much the art has improved over the course of the series. It’s honestly kind of jarring.
the betrayer, betrays those who betray him.
hmm, I get the feeling we’re coming up on a climactic scene here.
I’d always assumed that this place was either built by Arthur or built for Arthur – obviously i didn’t know it was for Arthur back then – but just that it was a kings tomb.
Now i’m thinking that he found this place – there is no way in hell that he could have built this place in secret, not with a village of teddy bears just around the corner
The teddy bears might not have been there at the time.
Besides – we still don’t know the full extent to which a person from the waking world can affect dreamland.
“The one place Nicodemus will never look, Orion… The Two Queens…”
“They look like men, lord.”
“Prepare yourself for horse jokes…”
*Rave music and half naked men dancing around with glowsticks.*
“My lord… It’s a gay bar…”
ROFL! ^.^
OHHH isn’t this where Alexander found the sword in the first—?
Now I think I understand.
Owww.. How could I forget about that cave… I know, because that cave was supposed to be burried IN the cliff, it’s entrance hidden.
Now that I’m thinking about it. How did Nic know that the sword was touched? How did he turn up in that cave at that specific time. There must be another way in and some kind of warning system…
Centaur: “What is this place, my lord?”
Arthur: “The cave of Caerbennaugh. Did you remember the vorpal bunny?”
Uh oh. Anybody else smelling a big bad lizard lurking in there?
Hmm. Given that, and Nic’s earlier flight to go check something, I wonder if this is the place where Arthur is yet imprisoned. It’s certainly big enough inside for him to be held someplace other than where the sword was found. And a perfect place to lay a trap for the next potential king of Dreamland, too. Interesting. Hats off to you Scott for such wonderful intrigue.
To quote Gir, “I’m gonna sing the doom song now! Doom da DOOM DOOM DOOM, doom doom!” o/”
Oh! That made me really happy! 🙂 Heehee…
Wheee! I knew it! I never know what’s going to happen next in movies and books (usually because I’m so wrapped up in them I can’t see past that moment I’m experiencing). However, I just knew that Arthur was talking about this place!
That’s not to say I’m not caught up in your story, Scott. It’s just that the one page a day format has given me a break from full on immersion. 🙂
The cave, remember your failure at the cave!
:DDDD ….
Nice work, Scott!
So Arthur is going to conduct his experiment here!
Looking forward to the next page!
Awesome!! Everything comes full circle!
The lighting seems rather unnatural/flat in this one.
I checked the old one:
http://thedreamlandchronicles.com/the-dreamland-chronicles/chapter-01/page-15/
and it seems better somehow.
As i have foreseen…(now..that reminds me something…)
The Tomb where the boy Alex found the Sword and the Dragon is the Place where Arthur tried to materialize his dream…and failed.
The Sword will stand on the Rock awaiting for the new King to drew it…and the next King is…Alex!
Seems to me like a kind of epic failure though…after Arthur… the King is Alex?
NOOOOO!!!! (as Nic could say…)
But there is a question here: as we remember from Chapter 1 there is some kind of force filed that prohibits the entrance to the Dreamlanders.
Only humans (or the King) can enter.
How is it possible the Nic is already there?
OR…this force field is a spell that was cast by Nic (or the Wraiths) after the failed experiment of Arthur?
At Last we’ve come full Circle.
So I think something happened in the cave that caused Nic to believe Arthur was coming back, but he died in the real world first…
So the comic’s come full circle now, sort of. Beautiful page!
Sharp pointy teeth!
PG 13 warning. This clip contains fake blood, killer rabits, and soiled armour. Enjoy!

lol! yoda and luke, classic!
hmm, i’m wondering this as well.
I do agree with many previous statements, in that the story is coming to a full circle. I started reading the Dreamland Chronicles a few weeks back, so the beginning, middle, and present is fresh in my mind to compare and contrast.
I will not comment on the art, as I do not know enough about graphics, art, and lighting designs on computers as to criticize. But, Scott, to the untrained eye (which would be mine), it looks great. I am an author, so I’m much better at identifying plots, foreshadowing, interpretation, and inferences that make the story have meaning. It is rare to find a person who can do all of the above, and my figurative hat is off to you, Scott, for finding talent, and joy in all of this. I will not speculate any further. Thank you, for a thrilling month as I caught up on the Dreamland Chronicles.
I dunno, I think the lighting in chapter one was better. Different time of day would make the difference though.
Any way they want, as long as they can imagine it.
My first thought is that it would be Nick that casts the spell on the cave, etc. But, he would only know about the secret through the wraiths. These guys are on to King Arthur.
NICK HAS FALLEN TO THE DARK SIDE!
He made one agreement with the wraiths to prevent humans from entering Dreamland (because of King Arthur’s “betrayal” to Dreamland).
*I’ll call it betrayal because that’s how Nick and the wraiths view it when Arthur decides to break “Dreamland Laws” and bring more adult humans to Dreamland.
Then Nick becomes the usurper, sides with the wraiths, and lets it go to his head in the meantime. (hundreds of years of rule and sharing secrets with the Nightmare Realm)
Then when Alex comes along and takes the sword, the delicate balance is broken between Nightmare Realm and Dreamland. Nick gets scared, angry, and unruly… *He could be trying to control a delicate balance between both Nightmare Realm and Dreamland.*
Merlin said, “You may not have the sword on your person while attempting this, Arthur.”
Arthur must have placed the sword in this secret place and ended up getting trapped somewhere when he didn’t have the sword to return back home or to dreamland.
Welcome to Dreamland!!
If the spell on the entrance is there now then Orion and Nick wont be able to get in unless someone found a way to counter it.
uh-oh that place looks familiar
wow I finally caught up! 😀 Now I have to wait with everyone else but I’m really excited. I love this comic and can’t wait to see what happens next week. 🙂
Nice full circle backtrack, it’s almost like you planned it. 😉
I can’t wait to see what’s next, great sense of impending . . . something!
Here is some knowledge about the cave. Should help answer some questions.

The spell that blocked the entrance was put up by Nicodemus but not until shortly after the cliff collapsed.

Thanks.
Fixed it.
Now showing my background in earth sciences…I wonder how shoreline change in Dreamland works. Or tides. I would think that a coastal entrance like this would be susceptible to excessive erosion, as well. Especially if this is the tomb that has been used for human kings going back thousands of years to Odysseus and Caesar.
