Page 841…
Hi everyone.
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
I’m going in for my MRI today. I don’t know how long it’ll be until I get a result…but from the looks of it…we may have to cancel WONDERCON.
I’m not OFFICIALLY cancelling it. But just giving you guys a heads up. Just in case.
I’ve been in so much pain for 3 weeks now. I hope it ends soon. I feel bad I haven’t been able to play with the kids…and have been pretty grumpy to Donna.
Plus…I just HATE complaining about this…or anything really. I like GOOD news DAGNABIT!
Thanks for putting up with me these last few weeks. I hope things will get better this week.
THank you also for the well wishes, kind words, prayers, and all.
Now…on to other things.
News:
1) The Dreamland Chronicles Book 3 is out Wednesday!
So make sure and pick it up. I haven’t even seen it yet. It’s SO WIERD not having this book MONTHS before everyone else. Please let me know how it is.
🙂
2) I updated the musicin the Jukebox. I wanted something to show my more “melancholy” mood. So…
Stone Temple Pilots, Sarah McLachlan, Little River Band, Kelly Sweet, and John Mayer.
Enjoy….and don’t tease me for my “melancholy” music being pretty tame…ha ha.
3) Last week Jen Contino posted an interview regarding the recently released My Grandparents are Secret Agents.
That’s it.
I’ll let you guys know how things go and thank you again for reading.
Scott
I hope that the MRI shows something positive that can be corrected Scott! Here’s hoping you don’t have to cancel Wondercon, but if you do, I really understand. You’ll just have to give a heads up the next time you want to visit your old stomping grounds. 🙂
The way that Felicity is acting, this may not be the first time she’s been in trouble with old Nick there. I wonder if this lays the ground for their later “alliance.”
Focus on getting better, for yourself and your family’s sake. If you need to take a break while you heal up, it’s ok. Sure, we’ll all go through Dreamland withdraws (especially with such teeth paining sweetness of the last few weeks) but you being there for your family is more important. At least according to my two cents…
Also, I don’t see a scar yet… but if I’m thinking correctly, Nicole is younger here than Alex was on his last trip (he was 12), so that makes sense since I’m pretty sure Nicole is older than Alex.
Hey, Scott, you’re entitled to a rant every now and then, especially cos you’ve always got something good for us to see otherwise 🙂
Hmm. They’re on first-name terms already?
I was recently diagnosed with herniated disks. Mine were so bad that even after two days of rest wondering what the heck was happening I still could not sit up or stand, which meant I could not go to the hospital in a normal car. It wasn’t really an emergency but I needed an ambulance. Because I went to the ER eventually I got an MRI which told me I have herniation at the S4-S5 and S5-L1 region. I was diagnosed in three days only because I could not move otherwise. My dad said his co-worker said it was the best thing we could have done because it took his doctor 8 months to diagnose it. I still felt bad at the hospital though because I didn’t feel as important, I was in pain yes, but mostly I just couldn’t get up and walk. Anyways, guess I’m just trying to say I know how it feels and I commend you for dealing with it for so long. The pills the hospital gave me didn’t do much, and the neurosurgeon still hasn’t called us back (after a month) but there are these great pills my doctor gave me on my follow-up check called MethylPREDNISolone. They’re an anti-inflammatory meant for our problem, versus the ibuprofen the hospital gave me that didn’t really do anything. You take decreasing douses for 6 days, by the end I was only slightly uncomfortable in certain positions, and a few days later I felt like I felt before all this random pain came on me. Even though I have not seen the neurosurgeon. I still want to go to him for the physical therapy in case it comes back. There’s also this great machine out now that gently pulls your spine while the disks are vibrated back into place. I really want to try that. My dad’s co-worker said he tried it and it’s the first time he’s felt relief in awhile.
And I’ve never commented before, but I really love your comic ^^.
Best wishes on your health.
Scott – you gonna find a way to make it up to Donna. I’m sure, she understands that this grumpyness comes from the pain.
I’m grumpy too if something pains me and my body refuses to work as I expect him to.
Besides – niiiice page you’ve put up. This is gonna reply some of the questions which have arisen.
Oooh! love the transparency on the wings! Good luck with the MRI.
hehe Nick still has stitches on his fingers…he’s still made of cloth xD
Thank you for a Wounderfull comic.
+ What every one else said. 😀
Slight change in my posting name here – signed up for an avatar, hoping it works. 😀
Poor Nicole – this can’t be healthy for her young mental state. Nicodemus is a big dork.
Scott –
Good luck with your MRI. I really hope they can get a better handle on the best treatment for you.
FWIW that happens to be one of my favorite McLachlan tracks.
Best wishes on the MRI today
and Nicodemus has never looked so good, and the eyes in panel 2 were spectacular .. is it just me, or is it the lighting and other advancements from your new computer system?
Wishing you the best today! 😀
Can’t wait for Book 3! Already pre-ordered 3 copies, that’s how much faith I have in your talents Scott! (FYI, to date, I haven’t bought any books from other web comics – Tho that’ll probably change very soon! 😀 )
No surprise, Nic doesn’t seem to like doing any of that administrative ruler-type stuff. Instead he trolls for street urchins to intimidate. Probably just enjoys the smell of their fear, or somethin’. 🙂
we are here for you to rant to, good luck on the MRI today.
Good luck with your MRI. I hope all your problems are over and done with soon. With taxes being double what I expected, I will harrass my local Borders to get all three books ASAP. Love the cover. *sneaky grin* Probably be April before we see her again.
Thank you guys!
I’m going in to the doctor now. They’re going to give me a shot to see if that helps until later today for the MRI.
Thanks again for reading and for being there for me and my family. Much love!
I love the cover to book Number 3!
Love the way you depict ole Nic’s scaley skin!
Hope the MRI provides good news, Scott! Hope you can get this pain taken care of once and for all.
I’ve noticed a lot of posters have blank faces. Have you thought of putting up a free avatars page? I think a lot of these folks would like avatars of their favorite dreamland characters…
I hope that all goes well for you. Ask your Doctor if Massage Therapy may help with the pain if it is indicated (ok) or contraindicated (not ok) for it all depends on what exactly is causing the pain and why. Not only is Massage Therapy great for releaving stress and knots but it is great for a therapeutic healing.
okay, im having trouble reconciling why nicodemus would go out to take care of a little kid. oh well, ill just suspend my belief then.
thanks Lora. I actually got some crap from IDW just that it wasn’t “exciting enough” but kind of ignored it…I hope it’s OK.
RG…I tried..it didn’t work out. Something to do with the software of WordPress.
Rogue Ruean…I think we’ll see tomorrow. But it looks like physical therapy is in order.
Soup…
It’s a parade coming. So I think everyone would be there. And of course…yes…suspend that belief. I do .
🙂
I like that you guys make me think of these things though. Keeps me on my toes.
re: an avatar page, you could post it as a “news post” or whatever WP calls them and then just link to that news post from somewhere. Links or About, or something. You have to use WP in weird ways to do things like that.
Hope the MRI goes well.
Call me wierd but Felicity and Nic act like their kinda related in one way shape or form LoL.
okay…yeah. so I pretty much started reading this yesterday. Some time around 2 or 3 I believe….and yeah…I just got to this most current page. I’m pretty sure I got kind of caught up in it and everything. lol In any case, love this webcomic, really great look to it and everything. Can’t wait to read more. ^^
Man, I know my way around doctors and MRIs (father was in two car wrecks… he’s all good, in case you ask). By the way… you spelled weird “WIERD”.
Spelling Nazi in me.
Drat! I always spel wierd weird….or weird wierd.
Double DRAT!
Why isn’t it ‘i’ before ‘e’ except after ‘c’ with weird? WHY???
Because it’s weird! 🙂
Found your comic months ago, read it from the beginning and check it every day. Thank you.
As for the health issues, depending on the test results, please don’t discount chiropractic. A long time ago while at university I had back/hip/leg pain so severe I could not sit or stand or lay down or get up or walk. It was so severe, I was trying to walk to the bathroom but forgot where I was headed. The *only* thing that provided relief was chiropractic, within two visits. Now, with occasional visits to the chiropractor and occasional stretches I am fine. Good luck.
Oh noes! I was really hoping to see you guys and your stand there! Well I HOPE you get to make it, but I understand if you cant. And I mostly hope you have a good recovery, and get lots of love from your friends and fans and family. 🙂
Poor Felicity. Poor Nicole. Drat that Nicodemus!
Cue the darth vader voice. “Impressive. Most impressive.”
she looks adorable when SCARED and MISERABLE. that little felicity.
How fast does Nicodemus move? How the heck otherwise does one not see something that large, and bright red, sneaking up on them? %-)
I hear that 114 year old books are good make-up gifts…
