Dragoncon in Atlanta…
A few readers asked me if I was going to Dragoncon now that we’re closer to it.
I’ve never been…so I contacted the nice people at Dragoncon to inquire about it.
They were kind enough to invite me as a guest.
So now I’d like to know how many of you would come if I’m there (or even if I wasn’t going).
If you could chime in and let me know it’d help me out.
Thanks
Scott
yes i be going, and would look foward to seeing you. Are you going to be in the artist alley?
I wasn’t planning on going this year, but I’ve gone before, and will probably go again. You need to do this con. Dreamland Chronicles belongs at Dragoncon way more than it belongs at Comicon.
I’m planning on going to the con and I’d LOVE to see you there in person so I can drive you insane with questions about how you make the comic in 3D.
Of course you could always now demand you get put in the “Film & Television” section of the guests rather than the “Comics, Art & Illustration” section. 🙂
I’ll be going and would love to get to stop by and see something I actually read on the internet. Might be a good chance to sell some books or something too.
It is *huge* if you haven’t ever been, takes up 3 hotels I think (maybe 4). This will only be my 2nd time, so my memory is fuzzy.
I admit that it looks like I won’t get to go this year. But if you have the opportunity to go, You should! Dragon Con is HUGE! One of my first trips there is what got me into web comics to begin with. I picked up some stickers at the sluggy table…years later and I’m a web comic addict! Go, for heavens sake, you won’t regret it!!! Dragon Con ROCKS…If I could go I would totally consider making a Titania costume from your comic, it would go over great there!
Titania Costume?
Oh don’t Tease Theresa!
Don’t Tease!!!!
Thank you everyone for the good recommendations for Dragoncon.
I’m booking everything now…so please do try to go if you can.
I should have an artists alley booth. So I’ll have toys and books.
If I had a ball peen hammer, a rivet gun, a spare wetsuit, and some time, I could try to make the elven plate armor.
DragonCon…isn’t that where the Pernese dragons let Nicodemus have what for?
I WISH I could go to Dragon Con! Not only would I get to hang out with you again, and try to pry details about what happens after the end of book 2 (I’m DYING here!) out of you, I’d also get to meet the PHELPS* twins! Wahhhhhh!
*James and Oliver Phelps, twins who portray Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter movies
P.S. – Owning book 2 before everyone else is still awesome sauce!
And dude, Juliet A, no dissing Comic Con. I would not have been able to meet Scott and win awesome-sauce book 2 if he had not been there. 😛
I’ll be going to Dragon*Con this year.
Awww…. It’s Mom! 🙂 *waves* Hello, nice lady! Welcome to the comic. 🙂
Oh I’m definitely going now that Scott is! Woo!
I was kicking the idea around because I’d really love to see Timothy Zahn, Ron Glass and Major Victory, but now that I know you will be there Scott, I’m in for sure.
There’s also a Con about 2 hours south of you now, in Chattanooga, TN. This will be the first year for this particular Con, but my lord it’s looking good. If you want to check it out the site is http://www.connooga.com
I wonder if I can come up with a Paddington costume in time for DragonCon.
You should go! You could also meet other talented web-comic creators. Cons are the best way of word-of-mouth viral advertising! Just remember, Artist Alley tends to be in the bowels of the con, so bring a personal battery powered fan and lots of water!!
