Update on Greg the mailman…
Hey all…
I’ve been trying to get Greg to sit still for a picture…but can’t seem to do it.
So I wanted to convey his thank you for the support you all showed last week.
We totalled over 50 orders in under 3 days. Wow.
This means a lot to him since we’re pretty much a rural route and his salary is based on how many packages he picks up during the 2 week testing period.
And to all of you who ordered. I hope you enjoyed the sketches, necklaces, and free books.
My hand looked like a claw on Friday. Frozen in a sketching position.
🙂
But it was worth it.
Thank you guys again.
Scott
Hey, great to hear that! I hope it turns out well for him.
And for your hand, ha ha! 🙂
Gary?
… I thought it was Greg. o.o
DOH!
Thanks so much. I have a cousin named Gary…so I got mixed up.
🙁
Sometimes I type without thinking….that’s bad I guess.
I`m glad you got so many packages for Greg. I hope this`ll improve his salary a lot (still think it`s a weird thing to do with people`s salary but I`m glad it worked out for him).
Haven`t recieved my package yet. I`m patiently waiting for it to sail that big ocean and fall in my letterbox. *is excited*
I love where the story is going now btw. That was a really critical moment there on that ship!
Yeah, glad to hear that it was such a success! \^_^
I can sympathise with the sketching hand though -take care of it, and hope it recovers soon.
My package arrived several days ago -woohoo! 😀
Hey there.
Well, this pile of packages sure looks impressive – I hope you both profit from it, you and Greg. 🙂
Naturally I didn’t get my package yet, but it’s going overseas, so that doesn’t mean anything – and added to that the Swiss postal system isn’t quite as fast either.
But we’ll see. At any rate I’ll let you know as soon as I get it. I’m already all giddy with happiness that I ordered those books in the first place and could help out both a fellow artist and a mail man with it. 😀
hey scott! since you switched the top right spot from voting to wowio, the voting links have become more and more obscure…i just wanted to mention that. i’m still voting every day, but i recommend moving them up top right under the wowio links and asking your awesome supporters to vote every day if they can!
best…michelle
Hey Michelle…
Thanks. I’m SOOOO bad with HTML. So I’m trying to get my friend Scott Z to help out. But he’s giving me lame excuses about “work” and “feeding the family” and stuff.
Ugh.
LAAAAMMMMME!
Anyways. When he has time…he’ll help me fix it.
I think I got it better.
Hey Sythiar…
Thanks.
Actually we lost money on the deal.
Between the shipments being more (since Paypal calculates by weight…and we were sending twice as much stuff as we paypal was calculating) and of course we shipped out over 75 items for free…we obviously lost money.
But that was the whole point.
This wasn’t for us. It was for a guy who lost his house and this was a way to help him get a raise ( I know…it’s weird)
But thank you very much for ordering….all of you.
If I can get Greg to stop being so shy…I’ll send a picture.
He does say thank you too.
she has such a childish face in the first panel =)
Great to see there was a lot of support for Greg! I hope everything works out for him. And thanks for the little necklace surprise you gave us, I was a bit dumbfounded at first.
Love the comic and love that you were willing to do something like that for someone else!
Hey Scott.
I hereby stand corrected. Looks like the Swiss postal service isn’t too bad after all. I got all my stuff today including the necklace and the sketches (Paddington is great btw!!)
I have to say that the comic in it’s print form looks even better than online version does (and even the online version looks superb). I’m deeply impressed! And a two-page layout kind of adds to the flow of the story as well.
Also – you are not the only one who seems to have to think before they write apparently. Yes, of course I realize that you lost money on this – I mean, you sold everything half price so to speak. All the more an incentive for me to actually buy the next volumes at the usual price. It was just a good bargain for me, since I pay so much in the matter of shipment fees (as all this goes overseas).
But I’ll stand by my statement – was trying to support Greg and you both (even though you more mentally than financially). I will, however, support your comic in the future as well and I will buy volume three and four together as soon as they are out.
P.S.: At some point you have to explain to us how you can survive as a full time comic artist by loosing money in the first place.
