Happy Monday!
I have a bit of bad news.
Stefano, who has been designing and modelling Dreamland environments for the last 10 years has to move on.
The combination of his day job and lack of family time has been just too much for him.
The main street of Seraphopolis will be his last model for me.
Here’s a work in progress…
Now… this leaves me in a tight spot.
I have several more environments I’ll need to create for this chapter alone.
I don’t like this uncertainty…but Stefano has grown to be a dear friend over these many years…and I respect his need for more time with his family.
I’m searching for someone to replace him.
This won’t be easy as Stefano is the most talented environmental artist I’ve ever worked with.
Hopefully I won’t have to stop production. I’m going to see if I can re-use models to at least finish this chapter out.
I’ll keep you all updated on things.
In the meanwhile. I hope you enjoy this week’s pages.

I’m sorry to hear that Stephano is no longer going to be able to do your models. This is a real bummer because he does such great work. I hope you’re able to find someone who can pick up where he left off. Of course, family comes first, so he has to do what he has to do. We’re sorry he won’t be able to continue on with the story.

The sword appears to have stopped glowing. Which makes me think that whatever was causing it to glow has left and the cat was the source of the noises.

For some strange reason, I’m remembering an old Alfred Hitchcock meme…. the door creaks open, the heroine looks nervous at the door.. a cat walks into the room through the crack of the door, then the camera pans back to show that the killer is already IN the room.
I wonder where Scott would go about auditioning someone else as an environment model artist? I’m sure there are forums and websites that are a “help wanted” for these talents. Any ideas, anyone?

Now they cannot POSSIBLY believe that the cat made that huge SNAP sound, AND made the sword glow, can they? They are supposed to be the intelligence of this story, so anything in that sector I will put under “playing an act”.

Actually, this is one of those cases where Alex would shine because he’s been living adventure all these years…he would know not to let down his guard! Brains don’t necessarily mean street smarts.

Out of curiosity, Scott, what program do you use for your models?
If this problem waited to happen in three years, I would then hold up my hand and offer my help. I’ve been reading dreamland for years now and love the story. Never commented before, though. But anyway, I’m currently going to school for Game Art, which includes a lot of 3D modeling though the program being used is Maya. So I’m just curious as to what program you’re using.

Now we know why the sword was so coveted. Everyone wanted the kitty-finding sword.
