I think it is Wednesday :). Also as far as the 5 islands go, I think they keep leap frogging from on to the other. So there are 5 in all but you will jump on each one multiple times till you get to your final destination.
I was kind of thinking that they had only released one chained island and that they were later hopping onto other magically linked islands that were already higher. How does it work, Scott? Still, by my count, they’re on island #4.
I like how Paddington is just ‘falling’ onto the last one, though in the sixth panel, it looks like he is about to fall on and crush the rest of the group, unless they jump to the next island first.
I think a better strategy would have been to let Paddington jump first so that his landing wouldn’t knock the others off and they wouldn’t have to worry about him falling on them. Also, if Paddington was already on the next level, he could just reach out and they could use him as a bridge. Then again, I never played Mario Brothers so I don’t know how this kind of thing works.
Or maybe riding Paddington as he jumps. They’ve done that before.
Well, I never played Mario either. The closest I ever did to this kind of island jumping was in the Lion King game for Genesis, where you need to jump between falling logs in a waterfall. It took forever. *Shudders*
Last page they were on island 2, so the panels go 2,3,3,3+,3&4,4 (I can’t tell if panel 4 has island #4 or ground at the bottom). So Julie is right one more to go.
I think the islands are rising in sequence from the water. They are shedding water still. I really like that you can tell rock 3 from 4 by the background. Rock 3 has the ocean still in view whereas rock 4 is surrounded by blue sky.
Watching them head into the sky like this reminds me of the interlude between Ys Book I & II where Adol is sent to Ys by the power of the………… I’ve already lost all of you, haven’t I? 🙂
Hardly! 🙂 I loved Mario Bros (most versions)! I just never was allowed a game system or anything, so I could only play when I visited friends. 😛 Silly parents and their worries about my ADD. 😀
No way! Almost all of my female friends have played it on some console or the other. And even if it was a guy thing (which it`s not), I didn`t let that sort of cultural stereotype stuff keep me from playing awesome games. 😀
I can understand that, as I didn’t own one either until after I was in college because my parents were afraid my brothers and I would play too much. My first system I owned was the NES, with Mario/Duck Hunt, 2 controllers, and the gun, but I didn’t get it until I was 20, but I got it for $20.
I thought there were only 5 islands…. And I was hoping on a more epic: argh, I don’t make it, here hold my hand scene somewhere 😉
I don’t envy them right now. xD
3 floating elevator islands so far unless I missed some.
this is a very tiring build up for the legendary city

Also first time posting and I love the comic!
Doh!
Thanks.
OMG those guys are going to need a long nap when they get there. =)
Loving the island hopping panels. Paddington is providing the most humor as he jumps from one to the next.

Looks like Paddington is about to tip that last one over!

There are…and if I’m following this sequence correctly, we’ve still only seen them get to the fourth one. One left! 🙂
We’re at 14,872 with 2nd place sitting at 15,847. 🙂 Keep it up folks!
Only four islands by my count as well.

*gasp*
You’ve never played Mario?
QUICK! WE NEED A NES AND SUPER MARIO BROS. 3 CARTRIDGE STAT!!!!!
And there I was, thinking that I will miss the Paddington jumping action. 🙂
I think Mario Brothers was more of a guy thing. 🙂

yes, they are on number 4.

yeah you are right… I counted one island/panel :p
paddington is going to be their down fall one day. yes pun intended!

speaking of puns – Paddington ROCKS the island!
Of course he does. The islands are only a stones-throw apart 🙂
Thursday’s page is moving along.
Will post in the morning.
Have a good night, all!
Thanks, Tink. It’s not easy to match the pace living in a time zone 14 hours ahead.
14,954, score to beat 15,877. We are getting closer!
That game had the worst jumping levels!

This reminds me too much of New Super Mario Bros Wii XD
You’re not alone. My only interaction with Mario was back when Donkey Kong was tossing barrels at him in the arcade.

You mean where you are in a group and if you bounce off of one of your friends you get shot off a ledge? I hate that part. No bubble for them though.

Paddington!! Don’t fall off the last one you big lug!!!
Dreamland would make a pretty cool video game… I can see this as part of a level. Island hopping. 🙂
