Page 1506…
Happy Friday!
Thank you all for the well wishes on the new project.
I’m hastily writing Chapter 18 while also drafting game design documents.
Fun.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Only 7 more pages to go.

Well, what did they expect when Paddington jumped on? That guy probably tips the scale at about 10 tons! 🙂
“Oh goody. More…island-hopping.” – is what I imagine going through their heads right now.
Island jumping…this reminds me of so many video game memories…
The Dreamland Chronicles goes Platformer!
AP — Today’s TDC strip attempts to merge static web content with gamer twitch mechanics as the main characters need to traverse several ‘stepping stone’ islands to complete the current level.
As many long-time readers wearily reach for their dusty analog joystick, one spoil sport noted, “Uh.. can’t they just fly across?”
LOL!
I was going to ask that same question! I was wondering if they were going to remember that they can all fly. Come to think of it, I haven’t seen Felicity fly but she could ride with one of the others.
Oh no, it’s a jumping puzzle. Anyone else having flashbacks to Xen?
TWC news update. We’re #3 with 11,694 votes. The current #2 doesn’t stand still, either, by now they’ve got 13,403. Yet, we still have almost 2 weeks to catch up with them.
Keep voting! Weekend or not, TWC is always ready to count your votes.
3 internets says Alex makes a flip comment about platformer games. Blank stares ensue.
😉
I trust this isn’t another pair of giant buttocks turned islands.
ugh, i am majorly afraid of heights (seriously, if i have to stand on a chair i get jittery and if i see someone else on a ladder i get nervous), i have a feeling these next few pages are going to make me squirm.
Yes. The pointy-bottomed giant is but a myth.
lol…It would be interesting to learn his actual weight. Any info on that Scott? 🙂
Seven more pages to go eh? I’m looking forward to chapter 18 and most of us will be agog as to who’ll grace the cover… 😉
D: bad memories that i tried to block out. Thanks for resurrecting it. Thanks a lot x____x
and suddenly I’m hearing the Mario theme for some reason. Jump Jump Ding!
The pointy-bottomed five-cheeked giant, you mean.
Alex: Heeeeeeere we goooooooo!
Question:
How long ago did Nastajia’s parents disappear?
A year ago, wasn’t it?
I’m trying to find it…argh.
You’d THINK I’d write this stuff down somewhere…
eighteen chapters ago 😉
This external wiki page has it at 2 years. I found another to say a year ago. I checked the footnoted sections in chapter 4, but it doesn’t state it. Maybe near the end of chapter three when Staj enters the picture.

I’m going with a year. page 196 (http://thedreamlandchronicles.com/the-dreamland-chronicles/chapter-04/page-196/) indicates that Arvamas reread a tablet two years prior and remember Alex’s visit to the hillside. Later on that page, it talks about ‘months of investigation’ before her parents left.
So, the answer is ‘several months after two years ago.’
yes, but if you recall they were told that they can’t fly to the city so eventually flying won’t work and they will have to jump.
Amazing pages…
I got an e-mail from someone who estimated his weight based on approximating Paddington’s torso as a 10 ft diameter sphere with an additional 25% for arms and legs who said it would be closer to 50 tons. Ouch!
It depends. I thought that the second island was because they were too heavy for the first one. So they’d just have to fly over to it now, and be done.
But maybe they have to jump several times, at considerably higher altitudes?
I hope Felicity isn’t looking at the “Top Webcomics” rank counter.
Great. Thanks!
do do do do do do DOOT!
it’s making a stairway to Heaven… I mean, Seraphopolis.
so with the current events taken into account 2 years ago 😉
I’m not buying that. . . . with apologies to Led Zepplin, which would not fly anyway, unless it was really, really big.
Too bad there was no “Paddington jumping on the rock” scene. That would have been entertaining… 🙂
Well, as I interpret it, they will have to follow the stairway of the flying rocks, so they will have to wait for where the rocks will go. They CAN do it flying, but why overexert yourself? Plus, there could be some magic, that will only allow you to see Seraphopolis, if you have touched all the rocks, or are standing on a rock… but maybe I’m over-analysing this.
More likely to dance from rock to rock.
Still rendering a couple panels (not because of slow computer…thank you guys…but because I goofed and Nastajia’s shoulder pads were falling off).
Will have it done by morning. Should have the page up by about 9am CST.
I’ve heard that the fear of heights is somewhat connected to seeing the ground or so. So if you’re high enough you stop feeling queasy. (Sorry if the english is bad but it’s not my primary language and the words just won’t come to me today :S)
