Page 1075…
I’d like to thank Phil Frumph from http://frumph.net/Â who generously donated his time to help me get the prints working.
Including the ONE OF A KIND prints.
That’s right. For those of you who wanted the ONE OF A KIND prints…get them now. Once I sell it…they’re gone forever.
We’ve also added the DOUBLE PAGE SPLASHES to the rest of the site. YAY!
And hopefully next week…I’ll have the store up and running.
Next week I’ll randomly select a winner for the Nastajia painting. So again…if you’d like a chance to…feel free to donate to get your name in.
I was told that $45 was too cheap for the originals. But honestly…I want you all to have them.
I want the most amount of people to be able to afford them. Really.
So it’s $25-29.50 for the regular prints and $45 for the one of a kinds.
The one of a kind prints have no word bubbles (so you can see more art).
And finally…
Thank you all for the donations and support. I think your’e going to love the prints. And I am so grateful for your help.
You guys are the best.
Scott
mmm, can’t wait until tomorrow… course with our luck, he’ll get around to asking, but the sword will wait until monday to answer 😛
O my gosh! wow, alex is the swords master!
Quick q, what’s the latest on the movie? Doing good?
Thanks Phil!
Not to be pedantic or anything (especially since it’s my first post in the comment box), but the “it’s” at the end should be “its” since…well, I’m sure you know =P
I’m loving the sort of sunrise background – very pretty. 🙂
But wasn’t Alex always the sword’s master? Didn’t it speak to him before (like when he was little in the cave)?
Oh, and there seems to be some sort of fragmenting along Nastajia (second panel)…I think maybe I noticed this yesterday too? It almost looks like a strand of hair that didn’t make it back.
I think that’s her bow string – you can just see the body of the bow over her shoulder 🙂
ACK! It’s means “it is” and is not possessive.
Is there a way to see what one a of a kind pages are left available? (maybe I’m missing it, it’s too early in the morning xD.)
Joss Whedon is its master now.
Tommorow will be an eye opener.
that was the first thing I noticed, too. and I would have worded it almost exactly the same. good thing I read this comment before sounding like an echo. 😉
if we’re incredibly unlucky, the sword is of the “one question per day” kind and alex will ask a stupid question and have to wait till the next day. 😛
(kidding, of course 😀 )
haha, that’s a good one. 😀
if not plot-wise, then at least literally. 😉
All should be available.
It’ll tell you if it’s sold.
right – good eye – i’m pleased that the readers mention these things because i’d hate for that kind of thing to get into print, where kids will see it. “it’s” ONLY EVER MEANS ‘it is’…EVER. You are its master now.
however, if there is a single webcomic creator who masters the English language skilfully enough to avoid frequent mistakes of that sort, then maybe there’s just that one. i wonder if right-brain/left-brain what-have-you means that the creative artist types who make webcomics are less likely to grasp grammar and spelling on a high level. eh, they don’t need to – enough pedants here to spoil the stew!
Alex is a swordmaster? Will he learn Astra eventually? (Fire Emblem reference.)
My log has something to tell you. Go on. Ask it.
Ack sorry. I’ll fix it thanks for the heads up.
🙂 I got the one I want! 🙂 I don’t care that much about it being the only one, but it does look better just as art. Page 2. 🙂 Thanks.
Oh hey what about making some of them into posters or creating one for posters, i know the ones of dragons or a castle would sell at Spenser’s.
Oh Scott if we buy the regular prints, the ones with speach bubbles, would you be kind enough to sign it? Please?
Scott,
FYI, the status of the “1 of 1” print availability does not automatically change to “Not available” when your order is completed. For example, Lulu ordered the 1 of 1 print for page 2 (darn, I like that page, too!) and 30 minutes later, it still is listed as “available”.
Oh, my! Is that a reference to “Twin Peaks”?
‘Course, Orion doesn’t really look like the “log lady” to me…
Wait… I know I’m slow, but I just now realized something.
Now that Alex has officially been proclaimed “king” by the sword, he appears to be able to return to Dreamland without wearing it. Did the sword give that back to him?
Alex is wearing the sword, It’s just tucked under his shirt so you can’t see it.
It’s okay. It’s not like it’s spoiling anything. Granted, a simple grammatical error deserves fixing for its own sake, and it’s not going to fix itself, but it’s a very common mistake and its prevalence across the internet is nearly universal.
(Sorry, couldn’t resist its allure … )
😉
The “Buy Print” button takes you to both options – regular and one-of-a-kind prints.
hth
🙂
Yes, Alex. You too can talk to your sword now.
Good 4 you, Scott! Nice to see people backing you up. 🙂
Me?
I’m just kinda sad I don’t have a credit card -with those fees, are ya freaking kidding me?!
But I’d love to have some of your art. I’ve grown fondly to it.
So, there.
BTW, Oh Orion, how I love thee? Let me count the ways
[and a very kickass coloring work in the last two pages. I am impressed]
Alex: Ummm, hello?
Sword: Yes.
Sword: You have used your question for the day. Please call back in 24 hours. Have a nice day.
Note: It will not say it’s sold until Scott has verified the transaction. Which might take a little bit of time. Once it does, it will say sold, I’m working on a process right now that will make it more automatic so bear with me.
AGH!!! I misspelled tomorrow! How stupid is that?
Ack, so I nailed the ones I had my eye on for originals and I might have been too slow because I was out doing some work. Oh well, if I was too slow I’ll get an email and a refund I guess.
Asking the sword to tell Nicodemus’s plan? Nuh-uh, too easy. It is never this easy for any protagonist. If it is as easy as Orion says, I would love that.
Looks like all the current purchases were processed, you might have gotten it after all, this is only temporary until I finish writing the response from paypal stuff.
Yes of course!
Just write it in the notes when you order it.
Yes. Unfortunately I found this out. I was under the assumption that it updated automatically.
Will try to fix that.
Thanks Jalule…
You don’t need a credit card to use Paypal. I think you can hook it up to a bank account or just send it money.
If that helps.
🙂
My apologies all.
Phil is going to see what he can do to fix the ordering. But in the meantime. Purchase the ones you’d like. If there’s a discrepancy and two people buy the same one…I’ll of course give it to the first and refund the money to the other.
That’s fair…right?
I don’t know. My dad had a different “fair” solution when my brother and I would fight over a comic book. He’d give me the top half and my brother the bottom half.
My brother and I knew better than to complain, but my own kids never seem to like that solution.
**Sigh**
I guess there’s just a generational gap there that I’ll never understand.
🙂
I put in an order at 11:22 AM EST and at least one of the pages has not yet been marked as “sold”. Pages 12 and 1017-18, BTW.
Back to the comic, the reflections on Alex’s armor in the last panel do not look correct. We should see Orion in the reflection, and the reflected horizon line should not be perfectly straight across the armor because the armor does not have uniform curvature.
Or worse: Sword: You have two questions today. Please ask them.
Alex: Isn’t the usual quota one question per day?
Sword: True. You now have no questions left.
The 1017-1018 was marked sold a couple hours ago
http://thedreamlandchronicles.com/extras/print-information/?comic=2983
The page 12 one however i’m not sure that it was processed, going to have to ask Scott about that one.
“Too easy”? No, I don’t think so. Even if it (he? she?) has heard the plans, there are any number of ways to insure those plans are virtually impossible to defeat and/or have been altered to make them more fireproof since the time of their conception…
I think Phil got everything working.
Original prints SHOULD be working.
Not completely, still have to verify the transactions manually scott, I am about 3 hours away from finishing the auto-setting to sold coding, .. i have to receive the information from paypal and all that and translate it out.
Dear Mr. Scott Christian Sava
It is a great pleasure to begin the day reading each page/episode of your wonderful webcomic! The art is amazingly fabulous and the story very enjoyable and exciting. I always look forward to the new adventure of the day.
I have only one grammatical correction to add from today’s page: in the last panel, Orion tells Alexander “You are it’s master now”. Actually, the caption should be “You are its master now”. “It’s” with the apostrophe is actually a contraction of “it is” (thus repeating twice the verb “to be”), whereas “its” without the apostrophe is the possessive pronoun of “it”, thus indicating that the sword belongs now to Alexander, the rightful owner.
I hope this helps to clarify the text and the storyline. Kudos for the beautiful artwork!
Sincerely,
Debbie Maldonado-Carrasco
Thank you Debbie!
I’ll fix it shortly.
🙂
Though the “it’s/its” issue has already been mentioned, we’ll forgive you, because that had to be one of the most polite grammar corrections I’ve ever seen!
😉
In case no one has said it recently, thanks for all your work on this!
good facial expression in the first panel 🙂
Thanks Tek =)
Buy Print/Original is turned back on. When someone buys an original now it talks with paypal and verifies that it was a good transaction, if it was it will set the original as being sold immediately.
If anyone buys an original or print, it displays a thank you message when it returns. 😉
Dreamland does not adhere to our notions of grammar and spelling.
Also, has no one asked the question of who the Guardians mentioned earlier are??? Does anyone remember when the first tablet, at the mermaid city, said something about a race called the Guardians having the last tablet?
