Page 2151…
THE END!
Or…
AND THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER!
Either way… we did it. We finished Dreamland.
14 years I’ve been working on this series for my twin boys Brendan DANIEL Sava and Logan ALEXANDER Sava!
11 years I’ve been posting a page a day online here.
7 (soon to be 8) graphic novels
4 (soon to be 5) kickstarters
6 languages you’ve all begun translating the comic into
Several awards (thank you)
4 figures (Alex, Nastajia, Kiwi, Felicity)
1 Plush (Paddington, of course)
10 trading/sketch cards
And so much more…
I’ve loved seeing your fan art, reading your letters, meeting you in person, seeing your cosplays, and friending you in real life.
You’ve supported me when we couldn’t afford new computers, printing, or even food to feed the kids.
You’ve encouraged me to finish. You’ve laughed, cried, and squealed with glee with me at each turn of the page.
I’m both saddened and excited to see this endeavor come to an end.
Thank you.
With the most profound love and gratitude,
Scott
Congratulations with this achievement. It has been a great ride.
The day I feared has finally come. The last page. I don’t even remember how
many years ago I started reading the Dreamland Chronicles. But I guess all
good things have to come to an end. Thank you very much for all the work and
for sharing these great adventures….! I will miss this all very much.
Congratulations on a fantastic journey!
Fantastic ending to such an epic journey! Thanks to Scott and the whole team. Now to start reading from tne beginning again!!!
This is the end, beautiful friend!-The Doors
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSUIQgEVDM4
Maybe one day,Sava will want to revisit Dreamland, see how the characters are doing and Alex adjusting to his new life in Ashendel, maybe fan artists out there can do their OWN rendering of the wedding of Alex and Nastajia.
BTW-Will Sava keep this website up even after Dreamland Chronicles is finished?
Scott Thank you so much much for all your hard work… My mornings will be missing something moving forward…
So long… and thanks for all the fish.
It’s been a fun ride, many thanks.
Bravo! It’s has been an incredible journey, thanks for sharing it….
Thank you so much, Scott! It’s been great watching the story unfold over the years. I can’t remember even when I stumbled across it now, but I am so happy I did. It’s really hard to put into words what this has meant to me, along with all of your side projects that you’ve been doing.
For your online presence, your friendship, your blood, your sweat, your tears… I am truly grateful and I can’t wait to see what will come next from you. Thanks again for everything!
*standing ovation*
Congratulations on finishing such a wonderful story! Updates will sorely be missed.
If Dreamland the movie were to happen, what would be a good place to find out?
{sigh}
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
Congrats, Scott, and thanks. Glad you were able to get this finished 🙂 Best of luck with your movie!
Congrats!!!! VERY Fun!
Thank you for such an epic journey, all these years!
Pls make it a movie and tell us about that!
Has it really been 14 years?
I’m not entirely sure, but I think I started reading at the point where Nicole and Alex were fighting over something and Alex says, after a whole debate: “wait, you think I’m cute?”
What stood out to me was the gradual increase in quality of the renders, the great characters and the fact that you, Scott, never seemed to miss an update even though you were updating every single work day. Later the computer issues and the movie made it more difficult, (understandable!) but all the kudos!
I will miss this comic, I hope I can make my book collection complete. And all the best for any new and exciting projects Scott, I will be following!
Simply cannot thank you enough.
All i can say is thankyou scott for the7 years ive avidly been following this. I have laughed, cried and yelled for more in that time. I have patiently waited for more when there have been problems with rendering and computer programmes but i have stuck by and waited for more….and now there is no more *cries* I have since starting dreamland introduced my daughters to it who have also been reading it although weekly unlike impatient me. I will be going back to the start and reading it all again in time and also looking forward to animal crackers being released here in the UK
Bravo! It’s been amazing, and I’m so grateful that you finished. I know it was difficult, and there must have been plenty of times where you were ready to give up. Kudos to you for sticking with it.
What a ride it has been. It’s hard to believe that i’ve been following this comic for so long, checking for a new page almost every morning. It’s almost saddening to see this has finally come to an end.
Congratulations. It’s been an amazing ride, and I am going to miss this comic a great deal. Thank you so much.
Yes. Of course. Still contemplating (and looking at our finances) the possibility of starting Dreamland up from scratch with Tracy’s art.
Thank you all. Love to each and every one of you.
I will miss reading all of your comments and interacting with you. I’ve met many of you in person and you are all like family to me.
Thank you so much.
gosh darn it. man I grew onto this coming years ago and I can’t believe it finally ended. Congrats Scott. I wish miss Dreamland. Hope a redo or something happens
Thanks Scott for sharing Dreamland with us. It has been a great ride.
Thanks to Tracy for finishing it up on the art side.
It was an enjoyable ride but all great stories must have an end, Dreamland is no different. The good thing is, some of us still can visit every once in a while.
Thank You. I’ve enjoyed this story a great deal. Followed it for a several years now after discovering it and binge reading the first few years. A great story – well told and (in two forms) well illustrated.
On a side note, I think the boys would look a little more manly in that last pose if their fists were clenched. 🙂
Congratulations! This has been a long time coming, and I’m proud of you for sticking with it ’till the end. I look forward to any new projects you’ll have in the future! (Aside from Animal Crackers, which I am seriously on edge waiting for)
Actually, now that they have Merlin’s bracelet, anyone can come and go between dreamland. Alex can go home.
Someone’s cutting a lot of onions at my desk this morning…Thank you again Mr. Sava, it’s been a wonderful ride.
Thank you Scott, Tracy, and all of you Dreamers, for everything. I only found this story a bit before the Book 7 Kickstarter, but I was instantly hooked. I only wish I’d found you sooner! Congratulations on finishing your story, on your movie, and on bringing together so many people. I hope you get to enjoy some well-earned comforts. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
*long slow clap*
Scott, thank you so much for all your work in sharing this story with us. I’ve been reading since 2006. The great CGI demise was tragic; yet Tracy’s work came through as a phoenix! Fondly do I recall the tweaks to characters, the daily cliff-hangers, the evolution and unfolding of a beautiful story. A piece of my heart will always be in Dreamland. Thank you for sticking it out through the tough times. Thank you for a happy closing. I wish you and your family the best. I was 19 when my Dreamland journey began, and it’s been there through Life’s major changes. I look forward to seeing your movie(s) and being able to tell people with pride, “Blue Dream Studios? Yeah, they’re like family!” ^_^
Somehow I thought it would end on a Friday.
I do not think the bracelet lets people physically go to dreamland. It just lets them dream in even though they are past the age limit. Alex is already home, in my opinion.
But what I love about the bracelet is that their mom will actually be able to see the grand kids.
Congratulations on completing your story. While I’ve not followed for the full 14 years, I’ve been here daily for quite a few, and looked forward to every new page.
My wife and I are eagerly awaiting the movie. I hope to see updates as time goes on.
Wow! And so my favorite comic ends. So glad I could be part of it! I also look forward to watching your first movie. Boy, Dreamland chronicles as a series would be pretty amazing!
Congratulations Chris!
What a wonderful ride, and wonderful achievement. Thank you for sharing your world with us, Mr. Sava.
Thanks so much for the years of entertainment, emotions and friday’ cliffhangers!
What will I do tomorrow… you are leaving a hole in my daily life!
Scott, thank you for a fantastic story. Dreamland Chronicles was my first web comic and the only one I still follow daily. I joined the story right around first meeting the centaurs and was amazed by the detail in the 3D art. I even looked to Dreamland to see how certain things were done for my own 3D modeling. And with the story, you really created a magical world worth dreaming in, and I’ll never forget it.
And for old time’s sake, folks, don’t forget to vote TWC! 😀
Am I the only one who imagines Daniel’s sword was awake and enjoying the ceremony just prior to this scene, but blinked as the picture was taken to avoid being poked in the eye by Excalibur’s crossguard?
Also… Congratulations on reaching the end of this journey, Scott!
I don’t remember when I first started reading Dreamland Chronicles, though I think it may have been about 8 years ago. I will miss it. Thanks for producing such a fun, fantastic, and enjoyable comic!
I, for one, would welcome a fully redrawn comic in the latest style. I never picked up any of the books, but I’d love to have a collection of dreamland chronicles on my shelf for future enjoyment.
Thanks again, and I look forward to watching your movie soon 🙂
That brings up an interesting point. It was earlier established that the sword basically has a will of it’s own, but that aspect of the story was barely even touched upon.
Congrats, and thank you for one heck of a ride.
Such joy in reading all of these.
?
Love you all!
Yay! Congratulations on a well-done comic!
I would love to see an epilogue between Alex and Nastaja together, perhaps?
Scott,
Thank you for Dreamland. I’ve been reading this story pretty much every day for the last nine years, have most of the trades, and a Paddington plush.
Thank you for letting me be a small part of this.
By the way there needs to be an epilogue where Alex & Nastajia’s grandkids ask how they met, and as Nastajia starts the story, the next page links back to page 1…
“of its own”
Its = possessive pronoun vs “it’s” = contraction of “it is”
Sorry for being the grammar police here… 😉
Contrats! It has been quite the run, and I’m glad I was able to be here for so much of it!
Wow, I’ve really enjoyed following the adventures of Dreamland, I must get the books and re-read them over and over, maybe with my nephews! Thank you for making my day brighter for so many years!
Don’t you realise that the Bee Gee’s ‘Staying alive’ is playing in the background?
Thanks for the wonderful story, and for all the time, effort, dedication, creativity and skill you dedicated into creating Dreamland! 🙂
I will sorely miss it…
Waiting for your next project 🙂
Thank you Scott, for an epic adventure. I’m very glad to have been able to follow on your journey, and will be keeping an eye open to the future!
Thank you so much for everything! <3 I've very much enjoyed this story. 😀
Now to reread. xD
yay!! Everything worked out and ended well! =D It has been a great ride these past years. (yeah, I’m one of you long time readers who never comments….). Thanks for all your hard work and blessings on your next adventure whatever that might be.
She could also see the wedding. IF they remember to tell her.
Congratulation and thank you. Waiting for more stories 🙂
Better “Staying alive” than “Still alive” 🙂
One of a very few webcomics I liked/remembered well enough to keep coming back to. Still hoping to see this in a movie. Tbh, I liked the rendered version better than the drawn one, but I can see why you’d want it stylistically the same all the way through and was simply happy you were able to complete the storyline. Seriously looking fwd to seeing Animal Crackers with my nieces/nephews when it gets out this far. Good luck with your future endeavors!
Thank you for creating a wonderful place us adults could visit for a brief time every day. I remember that is was the artwork that got my attention. Not the cgi, but the amount of detail that went into every panel. I even remember seeing fire reflected in someone’s eyes. The artwork did catch my attention but it was the story that hooked me. I will never get over seeing really a really tall dwarf. It is a sad day when anything remarkable comes to an end. I will keep an eye out in case you do decide to turn Dreamland into a movie(s).
Sad to see this come to an end, but it’s been a great ride. Good luck with your future endeavors!
Been reading since very early on, and I will just say: Thank you for sharing with all of us.
Thank you for the ride! This story has been a highlight of my morning webcomic-reading routine for many years.
Good luck with Animal Cracker (which I’m eager to see), and with all of your future projects.
Thank for such a wonderful journey. 🙂
I started reading this webcomic so long ago during one of the worse times in my life and coming here everyday to find out the next adventure of Alex, Daniel and the rest of the gang really help me a lot.
I will miss it but all good thing evolve into something new and I hope someday a movie will be made. 😉
Thank you and all the best for you and your family, specially the “real” Alex and Daniel. 🙂
Thank you Scott and team. I hope you start another comic. I like your work and that of your artist.
Thanks for the wonderful voyage. Tomorrow I will come here and there will be nothing new. Sigh….
Wow! What a ride! Thank you so much for taking us on that journey. Best wishes on your next project, whatever it may be.
“Things end because they must.” – The Doctor
It’s been an amazing journey and I look forwards to sharing it with my own son, Alex (I already have the CGI books and hope to add the art books to the collection – please tell me that’s what the next KS is). Like all fantasy sagas, I feel slightly sad that I’ve come to the end, but delighted I now have enjoyed the full story.
Scott, you could’ve so easily and justifiably abandoned this project. Thank you for finding a way of seeing us to the end. I am filled with enormous gratitude. And I can’t wait for Animal Crackers!
A wonderful comic, that I’ve enjoyed quite a lot. The only question left for me now is… what comes next?
Either way, thank you for a lovely tale.
I started reading back in 2010. I never posted before, but really wanted to for the last page. Because I wanted to show my appreciation. Thank you for Dreamland! I got a bit worried when it went on that hiatus. I’ve followed several comics that suddenly stop updating and are abandoned halfway through. For a while I worried Dreamland might be the same. I’m so glad that you came back and found a way to finish it. But it is also sad that I don’t have pages of Dreamland to look forward to now. I would certainly come back and follow the story again if you do decide to hire Tracy to redraw it from the beginning. She has amazing talent and I love the expressions on the characters on every page.
I’d also support the idea of small side stories if you ever chose to explore past or future events in Dreamland. I find ideas like Daniel and Nicole having a kid and taking him/her around Dreamland to meet everyone, including Uncle Alex, interesting to see and potentially amusing. And, of course, would love to see Alex and Nastajia getting married or just seeing a day in Alex’s life as he adjusts to life there. I can hope, can’t I? XD
Thank you again for sharing with us the whole story of Dreamland.
Too bad this couldn’t have gone up on a Friday. Think about it, it could have been the Ultimate Friday Cliffhanger/Finale.
Ah well. ‘Twas one heck of a ride and I’ll miss eagerly awaiting the next page.
So long and thanks for all the fish…
Long time reader here, not often-times commenter. Not sure when I started reading, but it could easily have been 10 years or so. It has easily been one of my favorites for that time. Part of that was the CGI, but the new art, as close to the CGI art as it has been, did not take very long to get used to and appreciate. Mostly it was the story, which has likely greatly benefited from being written in advance.
Thank you for delivering this comic for all these years, and congratulations for finishing it despite the new projects and the art problems. I’ve read so many webcomics over the years that just go into infinite hiatus, or plod along with very sporadic updates, or lose track of their own story. Only a very few manage to last this long and still wrap up their story properly, with such a well planned out ending. Another advantage to creating a work of art like this out of a story you had already created, I imagine. Personally I’ve grown to like a more future-set epilogue these days, but a clean break can be just as good when it’s done as well as this one. And if you ever get the urge to expand on your story yourself, the site, and hopefully the readers, will still be here.
Good luck on (the proper release of?) the movie! From what you’ve shown us it looks great, with some amazing actors and actresses, and I’m sure connections such as those will net you a great movie-making career if you choose to pursue it beyond merely the one.
I hope you will still keep this website somewhat active, beside the possible re-drawing, with news about your further endeavors, including the movie. Even if the news trickles in as slowly as during the hiatus a few years back, it will still be worth watching out for. You have a loyal community built up here and it would be a shame to let that go to waste.
To summarize, thanks for the comic, and don’t be a stranger 🙂
Just as long you won’t either retcon or reboot the series…! 😉
Congratulations on completing this opus. I am also happy that you have a major motion picture with your name on it. I hope it makes your dreams come true.
Dreamland has been a large part of my life for the past 14 years as well.
I started following it about half way thru Chapter One. I still have all the merch and original prints of pages I got. I wish I could afford to get more now…
I don’t think this is the end of Dreamland at all. It’s the end of this era… Like Neverland, Dreamland was around far longer than the beginning of this story, and it shall continue to be around for a long time yet… But this saga has found it’s happy conclusion, and everything was tied up nicely… Or has it? There’s still so much the magic and mystery there!
Thank you for this wonderful story, and I hope many others will show their appreciation by perhaps finding pages they really love and ordering prints or full-scale originals of those pages… It’s worth it.
😀
After looking about some, I don’t know if it possible to order prints and originals anymore… Huh… Scott?
Tears of joy right now. Will miss reading every day. Thank you for the journey, Scott.
Either way, this was a triumph…
Congrats and a job well done, Scott!
HUZZAH! We finished it >D! ‘Grats Scott, been a helluva journey.
Onto the next story >D!.
It has been awesome. Please say that the previous books can be gotten still? And where they are, because I’d love to give them to my daughter and grandson. After I’ve read through them again start to finish.
Thank you so much for blessing us with this wonderful comic and amazing story filled with awesome characters set in a fantastic setting!
I have enjoyed reading this and while it’s sad that it has come to an end, I have loved reading each page.
Thank you again.
Yeah…don’t need to George Lucas it. Mee-sa thinks dreamland is great-sa as it is-sa!
Congratulations on completing such a magnum opus Scott! I suggest you consider, after a break to recover, the idea of doing some Tales Of Dreamland. These would be short stories involving one or more of the gang and fill in some of the gaps, both in the past an in the present and immediate future. For example, at the celebration following the coronation Merlin could be enticed into talking about the past. Alex could actually propose to Nastaje, leading the their wedding. Nicole could lend the bracelet to Dan and Alex’s mom so she can visit Alex in Dreamland (and no doubt find a long forgotten friend of her own she met there as a child). Many possibilities that could be done as you two have time between other projects. In any event, I wish you the best for your future endeav ors. It has been a most excellent adventure!
Congratulations! I’m happy that you’ve finished but at the same time sad that the adventure is over. I’ve loved reading and watching the story grow over the years. It’s been fantastic to get to know you and your family through the story and your posts. I’m looking forward to your next project (and I can’t wait for “Animal Crackers”!!) Good luck and don’t forget to let us all know what’s going on. Just because this project is over doesn’t mean we don’t want to know how your story is going. <3
Yah, the sword had a few things to say, and that was it for the rest of the story. :/
Is this truly the end? It felt like such an abrupt ending. But it was an amazing journey. I hope there might be just a little more with an epilogue maybe.
A decade of my life has gone by. I have a nice set of collectible cards thanks to kickstarter.
Now I want the whole set so I can put them on my shelf and say…”my precious.”
You have done well, man. You did what few people do.
You wrote a story.
You published the story.
You finished the story.
Good job, man. Good job.
And now…I want more. Remember that the story of Oz only BEGAN with the coming of Dorothy and the fall of the wicked witches. And just as all those who loved Oz called on the Royal Historian of Oz to tell more stories, I’m going to call on the Royal Historian of Dreamland to do the same.
😉
I’m going to miss Dreamland greatly – I started reading your comic shorty after it started and have enjoyed following it since. Thank you for sharing your creation with us! It’ll be great to see both the movie and your future works.
And now it is over. It has been a fantastic journey and I am glad that I have been able to walk it. You have have come so far Scott and now you move on to bigger things.
Thank you for a wonderful adventure.
Wow!
Saw this page, and thought “And with this, the tales we know of Dreamland end. Now go to bed, know you’ll be safe in Dreamland, and have a wonderful sleep, and even better dreams.”
Also, THANK you, Mr. Sava, and all the artists who accompanied you (especially Tracy).
(With the upcoming Kickstarter, I presume there’ll be a “special collector’s box with all volumes”? Hopefully for a good rate shipping to Europe?)
We THANK you!
We thank you for sharing this wonderful story with us.
We thank you for having poured so much energy into this, to publish this, for having invested so much of your spare time. We thank yyour wife and kids for their support in continueing this “pet project”, which has outgrown any of your initial expectations, and has outgrown any expected time investment.
We thank Tracy for having stepped up and finishing your story for the last chapters.
We have much to thank you for.
I will soon read this story to my kids, and tell them that Dreamland is safe for them. That they can sleep well without any fear of monsters in their dreams, because Daniel and Alex keep Dreamland safe for everyone.
Thank You</strong, Mr. Sava.
Congratulations! I’ve been here from the start, and I made it to the finish. Great work!
Great closing page, Scott, Tracy! So fitting that it’s a single panel, and that it includes all the major characters. Poster-worthy, to be sure. Thanks again for a great epic read.
Thank you so much! It has been great!
I am hoping you will be returning and even have some short stories after this what happend to everyone!
Scott, I hope I will see a similar story as this online sometimes in the future made by you!
For those who would like me to continue the Dutch translations, please let me know and I will make sure that I will pick it up again. It might be a bit since I would like to know if the comics will be re-made using the new art-style or not.
Congratulations, and thank you to everyone involved in creating this wonderful story.
14 years — what an achievement! And a great, very satisfying end to a truly epic story. Thank you for sharing your imagination with us.
Congratulations! An excellent run!
Now we just need to see what comes next for Alex and Nastjia!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Did I mention thank you? Thank you. Now to start over from the beginning.
Oh and, thank you.
Thanks a lot for the Story, the dedication and the sacrifices you made to make it this far! The end of such a huge Project must be really hard, but also gratifying!
And it was beautifully done! That is a great ending for a great Story! I could not resist and just started reading it all over again 🙂
Thank you and your Family again! You guys rock! 😉
Best of luck on all your future Projects!!
Thank you.
Amidst all the emotions of something that’s been a part of my mornings for nearly 12 years I gotta make a critique of the last page. You’ve got something backwards.
Why is Nastaja behind Dan while Nichole and Felicity are behind Alex? Shouldn’t the girls be a bit closer to their guys? In fact, Kiwi and Paddington should probably be framing Alex instead of Dan, for that matter. Alex’s team, the group he’s been associated with since the very first page of the comic are all on the opposite side of the page from him.
Next chapter please. 🙂
Ok, just kidding. If you’re done, you’re done. Thank you for years and years of a great story! I will miss it.
Actually, I think it does. I think Nicole is physically there, not sleeping somewhere. So they do have a way to go back and forth. Yay for their mom! <3
Welcome to the family, dreamer! 🙂
So good! Such a happy ending. Scott, thank you for a wonderful epic. I’ve followed your for years now and will miss Dreamland, but I’m so glad I was along for the ride. Love to you, your family, Tracy and anyone else who to fly us all in to Dreamland!
I think I found this comic shortly before my first deployment to Iraq and it became one of my fast favorites, once a week while I was overseas I would be able to use the internet and catch up on What was happening in Dreamland. It was a small, but significant thing I could look forward to in even the toughest times. I continued to read after I returned to the states and when I again deployed for another tour in Iraq “The Dreamland Chronicles” continued to give me a moral boost. Having something lighthearted and good to look forward too, truly helps when facing the wrongs of the world. I know all good things come to an end, but I will truly miss watching Nastajia and Alex grow in their relationship and see Felicity and Nicole renew their friendship. Thank you for the wonderful story and best wishes for you and your family.
Wow,
Such a bittersweet ending. I love that a great story has been told, but sad that I when I refresh this page that the little “Next>” link will no longer light up and become available.
For the past 10 years, I’ve been enjoying this comic, and I think it’s time to restart from the beginning and re-read it. I am hoping those few animated strips that you had available for download are still out there somewhere, because while there were only a few chapters like that done, they were wonderful to share with my kids (kids who are all grown and out of the house now… Has it really been that long?)
I like the idea of Tracy redrawing all of the old strips in the same style, but please keep the old stuff available too, I remember toying with the idea of creating a CGI comic of my own way back when, (because I can’t even draw good stick figures) and I was always amazed with how good your work was.
Anyway, I will keep coming back here on a regular basis, because I can’t wait to see what your future endeavors will be!
Congratulations! Must be simultaneously sad and a relief to bring the current story to completion!
After Animal Crackers, maybe there’ll be “The New Adventures in Dreamland”? 🙂
Wow,You did it! Congratulations! Thanks for sticking with it during the hard times. I remember almost losing hope during the time when so much cgi material was lost.
*deep breath*
FOR DREAMLAND!
Like so many, I don’t remember how many years ago now it was when I first started reading. You have created a wonderful world that has brought me a lot of joy. From a fan perspective this is bittersweet! Thank you so much for sharing your creative adventures.
Congratulations on finishing your story and thank you for sharing it with us! I’ve enjoyed reading it.
For ten years I have been reading this story…
For ten years I have been following Alex on his journeys…
For ten years I have laughed and cried and been in such suspense of what happened next…
And now that’s it’s finally done I feel at a loss…
It’s like loosing an old friend and saying the final fair well…
It was one heck of a ride!
Wow.
That’s really it.
It’s over.
I don’t know how many years I’ve been reading Dreamland, but it’s hard to realize it’s actually over.
Congratulations and well done.
Thank you! It is a fantastic story. I’ll miss reading the new pages. I guess it’s time to start reading the story again. 🙂
Love and hugs to you all!
I can’t thank you enough for your generosity and support.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Aw geez. Thank you Evan!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! What. A. Ride!! I’ve obnly been here for about… hmmm… 7 years I think? Anyway, totally worth it, this has been a fun and cute ride. One I’ll definitely pass on to my kids, if I ever decide to have one o two. Thaks for the quality content and exemplary responsibility, Scott and team.
I’d love to see a Tracy remake, but regardless of what happens: thank you for many years of continued enjoyment Scott! Makes me wonder how I’ll feel when other long-running webcomics like TwoKinds and Freefall come to a close…
*Sniffle*…. It’s like the Stable doors closing on old Narnia forever…
Just to add my congratulations to all the others above. Well done for having the sticking power to see this through. Same goes for your film animation career. Keep forging on and success will follow. We will all miss this story but I am looking forward to all the others you will write and produce in the coming years. Also, I can’t wait to complete my Dreamland book collection with volume 8!
I was thinking more along the lines of DC Comics’ New 52 or Titan Comics Robotech series…!
Next step in this saga, after the final graphic novel, please have your wonderful and talented artist go back to the earlier books and reform them to her art style! I’d like an omnibus in said art-style.
I have been following this story for years and you all did such a great job on the story, the artwork and everything in between! Congratulations!
I loved this comic and will miss it. The characters were good, the plot was engaging and the ending was satisfying.
Please let us know if you ever choose to make another.
* JOINS STANDING OVATION * Words are hard to describe how I feel. Absolutely loved this comic; I can’t even remember how long ago I started reading it. I’ll keep hoping there’s a wedding in an epilogue. Much success to you in whatever you choose to do next.
It’s always an odd feeling, seeing a series I’ve read along with for years come to an end… Thankfully, it was a proper end and not say, one caused by being unable to continue the story like some sad tales I could share of some interesting stories.
It’s been a blast Scott, may you and yours find yourselves in good fortune always.
I can’t stop laughing at the bell bottom pants and arms of Daniel’s armor XD
Been reading this since college days, I can’t believe it’s all come to an end, I’m going to miss Dreamland! ._.
Hugs to you all!
Thank you.
What a journey, and congrats! Crazy to think it’s been 7 or 8 years since I found this comic. While I’ll miss Dreamland and I’m sad to see it end, I’m also happy you were able finish it. Thanks for telling this wonderful story, and thanks Tracy for stepping in to draw the final chapters.
Hugs to all of you. Sad to see this one end, while at the same time happy to see it completed.
*clears throat, starts singing*
Come my love, I’ll tell you a tale
Of a boy and a girl and their love story
How he loved her oh so much
And the charms she did possess
Now this did happen once upon a time
When things were not so complex
How he worshipped the ground she walked
And when he looked in her eyes he became obsessed
My love is like a storybook story
But it’s as real as the feelings I feel
My love is like a storybook story
But it’s as real as the feelings I feel
It’s as real as the feelings I feel
He said, “Don’t you know I love you oh so much
And lay my heart at the foot of your dress?”
She said, “Don’t you know that storybook loves
Always have a happy ending?”
Then he scooped her up just like in the books
And on his stallion they rode away
My love is like a storybook story
But it’s as real as the feelings I feel
My love is like a storybook story
But it’s as real as the feelings I feel
It’s as real as the feelings I feel
*end song*
We thank you, Scott Christian Sava, for such a wonderful and entertaining webcomic. I am sad to see it end, but all good things must end sometime, I suppose.
I only got here perhaps a year or two back and love this tale. I am sorry it has come to an end, and hope one day it will have an epilogue about their kids or something like that. The art work throughout this story is beautiful and it is wonderfully entertaining. Thank you for pouring your heart into this it truly shows and I bet your kids like it to.
.
The only unanswered question I have is Alex’s mom is now going to wonder where her son went as she still has one but not the other. Because he can no longer leave Dreamland and for the most part the last thing he did IRL was take a lady to a lake and jump in. Suddenly bringing a mermaid into reality. As a parent myself I would be worried where my son had gone. Please tell me I missed a page that plugs up this plot hole, better than his brother telling mom Oh they want him at the hospital for a sleep study.
rats I forgot my punctuation again… I tend to make run on sentences when I type.
“I have is. Alex’s mom”
“her son went, as she still ”
you get what i mean… His mom should be freaking out because her twin set of boys is now a single limited edition.
Gonna miss this series. When I read, years ago, that you had ending planned and written, I thought “Cool, I look forward to seeing how it ends!”. Now that is has, I don’t want it to.
Thank you for all the years of amazing story, Mr. Scott Sava. This stayed in my list of webcomics that I checked daily for over five years, even through computer crashes, OS reinstalls, and everything else.
Going to miss this one.
?
Thank you.
I am sure Nicole will let Alex’s mom use the bracelet to visit Alex from time to time.
🙂
Thank you for this comic! It’s been a pleasure!
I hope you start something as good in the future!
Thank you Scott!
It has been a wonderful pleasure to follow this for all this time.
It has been a blast, and I do hope that someone, someday takes on to make a film out of this. You really made me realize that I do love comics, and web comics in particular. (And yes, I have evolved and matured a lot during these years. But I still have my playfulness!)
Also a big thank you to Tracey, without whom we probably would still be guessing about how this story would have ended.
Congratulations on finishing! It’s been a pleasure to read and I’m very glad you (and Tracey) made it through to the end!
This may sound silly, but would you consider re-posting the pages daily from the beginning (maybe 7 days/week so it’d go a tad bit faster)? The beginning was so long ago now that some parts would be like reading the story for the first time… and then we all wouldn’t need to miss dreamland and I wouldn’t need to find another daily webcomic 😉 (I know I could reread it myself, but it’s just not quite the same!)
I think the first time I saw this comic I didn’t really get into it to be honest, but one day (sometime during the hiatus I think) I came across it again, and got sucked in.
Now I’m sad it’s over. 🙁
I would love to see what happened next. Maybe one day!
I have followed this story for 10 years. I am sorry to see it end and hope the future will hold good thing for you.
Thank you!
Aha, I see what you’ve done there. 😀
I presume Alex may also return to earth using the bracelet… but he may not have much reason to. 😛
I just read through the entire story from start to finish. Awesome story! It flowed much better read together than piecemeal over the last 10 years, especially the end when all the threads were converging to a grand climax. It’s hard to keep all the details in your head when you only get a few pages a week, but reading them all together at once made so much more sense.
In any case, congrats for finishing an amazing story, and thanks for your great generosity to share it online for free!!
Oh! It sure is.
His mom does know where Alex is and that he can’t return. She sent a letter to him with Daniel several pages back. Plus…as Scott confirms, she can visit Dreamland with the bracelet to see him. <3
I was just rereading the archives. Is page 976 missing? That’s the page in which Alex first flies as an adult. It’s in the PDF, but the online archives skip from 975 to 977.
Been a fun read, thank you!
It was an incredible project, and I’m both very happy and very sad about this. I’ll miss Dreamland.
Out of curiosity, how will we find out about the Kickstarter that I’m sure you’ll end up running for the final print volume? I mean, I know we can come back and check the site to see about it, but the main page is the first page of the comic now. Is it safe to assume that you’ll redirect the main web address to a new page with a new “journal” entry about the campaign for the final book? And approximately when do you think such an announcement might be made? I just want to make sure I don’t miss the chance to add the final volume to my collection. 🙂
So much thanks and so many people that have read the comic start to finish. Of all the web-com’s that there are out there, I’ve never seen one Finished for real.
Even though I am a humble reader: I’ve had a great time each day of update reading the story.
Thank you for the reading and don’t mind me saying: your comic got me hooked as much as Elfquest ever had, once. You are on the same comic-level (in my opinion) as Thorgal, Elfquest and many other comics that are out there.
Like I said: I’m just a humble reader, not much f a great producer of comic books, but if I had my say: Print these stories and get them out. If Elfquest and Thorgal are sold, so will Dreamland Chronicles.
And now I’m left with looking for a new (web)comic that will have me hooked as much as DLC had.
Thanks again Sava. And all the others who had the comic going.
So … what happened to their MOTHER? Did they just abandon her to the real world??
The journey comes to an end…
Congratulations on finishing this great story! It’s been a fun ride.
Thank you!
Out of those 14 years, I’ve probably been a fan for 11. It was such a disappointment when the original 3D program you used got corrupted or what ever happened. Whether this is 2D, 3D or glyphs; I would still come back to enjoy this fantastic story you and your son’s created. I hope to one day share this with my nieces and nephews provided I don’t have my own kids.
Thank you for sharing this story with us – I can’t remember when I started reading it… maybe 9-10 years ago?
It’s very a special achievement to remain dedicated to a webcomic for so long and to see it through to its end (in 3D or in traditional drawn form). So many comic stall and get abandoned, very glad the Chronicles didn’t go the same way! Sad it’s completed now and we won’t see more adventures of Alex, Dan and Friends, but will cherish re-reading the story in the years to come.
Thank you.
So, I started reading this comic in high school (roughly 6 years ago), lost it to the internet as we do, found it again in college, binge read thru it and cried my eyes out. Thank you so much for all the amazing work you’ve done and sharing your creativity and imagination with us.
I think that Miiiight have just been a number typo. that issue sounds familiar.
Bravo Mr. Sava, bravo! Thank you for the years of effort behind this wonderful comic.
Still missing my daily dose of Dreamland! Sigh…. 🙂
Just added it. Thank you so much for the heads up.

Thank you all!
I stop by maybe once a week to read all of these wonderful messages.
It’s been an honor and privilege to share my stories with you.
Oops. I’ve missed the Big Day while crossing a sea. Thanks and congratulations, Scott! What a ride it’s been. What a ride.
Thanks Scott! 🙂 I’d kind of forgotten that I’m already following your Facebook page (don’t have Twitter) and that you’d probably post something there. 😛
So, I’m thinking very strongly of picking up the books in the next Kickstarter. Is there any way to get alerted when that Kickstarter is launched?
10 pare Epilogue?

Again, thank you Scott and Tracy. I have loved this story, I have enjoyed making my own private guesses as to what was going to happen, and being wrong about most of them.
I look forward to rereading the whole thing, as I have recently found that I, embarrassingly, don’t remember some things that happened. (O.O)
Congratulations on all that you have achieved, and may the future for both of you be filled with happiness and success in whatever endeavors you make. Love you.
Hey Scott, I have a question, will the new Kickstarter Campaign be offering Previous Volumes as well? The Reason I’m asking is, because my Volume 5 , during Ch 16, has a couple of Misprinted pages in it. 8 to be exact. It’s during the time where Alex has to go to the War Camp, and Felicity jumps him.
Hey Doug. No. But contact me once you’ve backed it and we’ll see if I can get you a copy to go with Book 8.
Thanks Appreciate it, If not, I can always insert the pages from the website to make it work
Saluton! I’m a bit late, but I wanted to read all the other comments first …
Well, thank you for starting and sharing, sad it has ended, but great that you got it finished despite the problems! Even the new art style grew quickly on me! All the best!
Good job
Dreamland: The Next Generation
Dude, so… Okay. I am not one of those fans that has been around for forever. I found your comic years ago, read through part of it… really enjoyed it… but then life got busy and I forgot about it. Three days ago, I remembered this comic and sat down to catch up with it again…. only to find out that it has come to it’s conclusion. This story is truly awe inspiring and I’m really sad to find out I missed out on part of the ride. However, with all that said……… I think it would be a real shame if you were done with Dreamland and this whole mithos for good. You are an absolutely phenomenal story teller, and this story truly deserves a sequel. I want to know what happened to Nastajia and Alex… do they get married? Have kids? What is life like for a kid that is half elf- half human in Dreamland? What about Felicity? What adventures does Dan go on now that he is finally here? Also… you never covered how the sword passed from Gilgamesh to the next king… he called Dan a false king, so that hints that Gilgamesh still views himself king… when and how did he relinquish control of the Sword of Kings? … I have so many more questions. Please consider a sequel… there’s bound to be something else lurking that needs addressing by our heroes… or their children.
Nice.
Kickstarter for Book 8 is live!

Scott, please post some links to the Animal Crackers material on the front page. I would like to know whenever anything new is available.
FYI I have just stopped my Patreon support as the comic is finished and I have to save for the final book!!
No problem. Thanks Rod!

Are you ever going to publish all the books together? Or another run of the books? I’d love to get my hands on these books at some point, but I’m very hesitant to invest in this particular set you have out now, seeing as it’s iffy that I’d be able to get a complete set.
This is it. If you do the kickstarter now… you could get every book except 3. And you can find Book 3 on Amazon or ebay pretty easily.
I won’t be doing a complete set again. Not unless I’m able to get Tracy to redo ALL the series in her art.
Are these books hardback or paperback?
paperback
Guys if you haven’t realised there’s currently a kickstarter for the final book!! Only 4 more days for the campaign to end!
Here’s the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2116207290/the-dreamland-chronicles-book-8
SCOTT!! DUDE! PUT THE KICKSTARTER LINK AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE NOW! Four days left and not yet done. You’re killing me!
You did it!! $5,071 pledged of $5,000 goal with three days to spare. BTW, my first 7 books included a character sketch on the inside front cover of each which I happily pledged for. I’ll gladly pay extra for a sketch of Nicodemus in book 8, if you’re able.
Sketches are free!
Always.
🙂
So when is the movie coming out?
Inquiring minds want to know
Hoping for February or April.
Fingers crossed.
Wow. The only thing worse than finishing an archive dive and coming up to the current page, only to have to wait until the next update, is completing an archive dive and knowing there won’t be any more updates!
Congratulations on bringing your story to completion! It takes determination, to do what you did, particularly over such a long stretch of time. Congratulations on not leaving it in limbo, or in draging it along until you lost all sense of direction or jumped the shark… You knew the story you wanted to tell, and you knew where you were headed.
And you kept in touch with your readers. Any hiatus was well explained from the start, and even when we didn’t know when you would start again, you were credible enough that we could be confident you would indeed start again. I was a little disappointed to see the CGI go, but Tracy is an excellent artist, and more than made up for it.
Of course, you are quite the artist, yourself… if it wasn’t for the fact that you probably saved a lot of time by subcontracting the art, you could have done just as well, based on all the illustrations we see on your Dreamland Chronicles Facebook page. But I’m guessing that if you had had time to draw the comic, you probably would have had time to continue the CGI, too… Kind of a catch 22, I guess.
I am definitely keeping this in my bookmarks, to read again.
Good luck with Animal Crackers, as well as with any and all future projects. I have to agree with many of the posters here: any chance one of those projects might be a sequel, or some side stories? You have spent so much time creating this world, it would be a shame if it was the last time it was heard from…
You know, with all that talk about Alex and Nastajia’s wedding, I can’t help but think that Oberon and Titania would first want to see that Alex receives a proper knight training, seeing as he has to relearn everything, now that he’s there with his human body… Our slacker in chief is bound to make such a training very amusing to watch…
Anyway. Thank you for all your hard work, and for sharing it with us.
Dang I am kind of late to the party but congrats. Great ending 🙂
So for the last 4 months I have been slowly re-reading the comic, and it is still so good! I loved it the first time through, and it was even better being able to read it without the usual waiting between pages. Thank you Scott for creating this and seeing it all the way through to the end.
Bravo!
It’s been awhile, but I wanted to ask you how Dreamland would’ve endure if the “Dear Leader” were it’s king?
“Dreamland is best Korea!”
I just wanne thank you for that great story. I totally love it. If you do something else, another comic or a movie or something else, I’ll be there.
Thanks again
I remember going to comic-con in San Diego and telling the artist that I hope to see a human being stuck in Dreamland and in love with a mermaid, I never thought it would turn into Merlin and his mermaid love. It was beautiful to see something like that turn into something I never imagined would take place, I kind of wonder what will happen to Alex and any kids he would have and how it would be if Alex’s mom ends up having to take care of such a grand kid, I kind of hope to see that someday, but I will be realistic and say that I would be pleasantly surprised if we should see Alex’s cousin having to babysit his relative.
Thank you so much. Such kind words all around. Truly. Thank you, sir.
Thank you!
You’re welcome. And thank you!
🙂
Thank you. So glad you liked seeing that.
Fantastic ending to such an epic journey!
Any updates on movies? Animal Crackers release date or a possible Dreamland movie? I stop by from time to time to see if there’s any news. Still miss the daily updates on this story. You can tell a good story by the fact you never want it to end. Thank you for the memories.
Loved it and I am sad to see it end. Maybe if i wish enough there’ll be a part 2
I only returned today after a long absence, and seeing the story completed… I wish you could have completed it in the original style, but these drawings are great too!
Thanks for the great journey, it was a blast! I can only hope that youll find reasons to return to Dreamland and tell us more stories of their adventures!
Yet another person wanting to say how much I loved reading this comic. I remember reading it back in its early days, back at the “first” reveal of Nicodemus. I always kept meaning to one day catch back up, and so came yesterday I decided to read through it all. A truly wonderful work.
Simply brilliant, and a wonderful dream.
You know who would make an excellent live-action Daniel? Tye Sheridan.
I love the story and the world that you created with dreamland and i sure that dreamland always will be in my heart, so i have to say, thanks you very much!
Thank you!
It was a wonderful journey, and great to be able to visit again.
Cue Curtain Call!
