The Making of Dreamland Page 20…
Happy Monday all.
I hope you had a great weekend.
We had fun yesterday watching the Masters (though we’re sad Tiger didn’t win).
Donna made a great Turkey for Easter. The boys had an Easter Egg hunt.
All in all…it was good to be home again.
Β
My blood pressure is all down again. So we’re hoping the doctor takes me off the meds.
Β
My back is still in pain…but the new anti-inflammatory pills allow me to get work done pretty good.
I’m almost done with writing Chapter 14 and hope that in the next week or so I can start pages again.
Thanks for sticking around. I’m hoping I don’t lose too many readers with this medical leave. But we’ll know when pages start coming up again.
Β
In the meanwhile…I hope you guys enjoy these making of pages and thank you for stopping by each day and writing such encouraging and funny comments.
Scott
Glad you had a nice easter, Scott and that you’re feeling better. I’ll talk to you this week.
LL
Hah, I doubt you’ll lose any readers because of this, for three reasons:
1) As the hundreds of comments showed, we understand, and want you to get better, not to mention many of us know what it’s like to be in pain
2) This is an amazing story to read, anyone who doesn’t want more of it is a smelly onion, with little hairs growing out of it.
3) Practically speaking, you’ve still been putting up content, and less endearing webcomics go on hiatus for much longer with no notice or filler.
In any case I hope your back continues to heal, and I’m glad you had a nice weekend.
You won’t lose me. I still watch comics that have been on Hiatus for over 2.5 years… we occasionally get Blurbs on their forums but.. yea.. haha. Get better soon π
I’m glad to hear you’re getting better – good luck with the doctor and meds. I’m still around and will be for the long haul. This story is too great not to stick around. And you’re health is too important for me to worry about a hiatus to get you back up and going. Be better – we’re here and love all you do for us.
You have lovingly crafted this tale, and made many fans in doing so. A week, a month – no matter. When you resume, we’ll be waiting. Delighted.
Good to hear you had a pleasant Easter, your family had fund, and that you’re making progress with your back.
While having to wait for more Dreamland is not a good thing, if it means you have had a chance to take some time to reflect on what you’re doing and come back with renewed energy, then none of this has been time wasted.
We’ll all be ready when you are, Scott. Do what you need to do and don’t worry about it.
Oops – that should have been “fun” not “fund”. Oh well, that’s what I get for checking in early in the morning. π
don’t you have a hit-counter where you can see that we’re still visiting? π We enjoy your work, Scott π this medical business isn’t going to drive anyone away =P
I’m glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better, though π
You won’t lose me, Scott! I’m here til the end!
Dreamland is worth the wait. Your back issues are more important than this comic. My hubby has phys therapy twice a week for his back. he has rotational scoliosis.
anyways keep up the awesome job you are doing π
Thank you all.
Work-a-holic that I am…I hate each day that doesn’t see progress on the book. Even though behind the scenes I am working on the book…
I just need to “get over myself” as my wife tells me.
π
I’ll always be here. π I’m glad your back is doing better!
You know, you are like the fifth person to say that you had an easter egg hunt? I’m all depressed now because in my twenty years of easter celebrating, I’ve never EVER been to an easter egg hunt? How DOES that happen? Hmm ….
Well, at least there was turkey right? Ah turkey coma … anyway, I’m glad you’re feeling better. Like Caristiona said, it’s worth the wait. XD
You won’t lose any of your real readers. You’ve posted pages without fail for 3 years. We aren’t about to turn our backs on you because of a circumstance you can’t control
Hope you keep feeling better, Scott!
Looking forward to new pages but it is always great to see the behinds the scenes stuff, especially with the detail that goes into Dreamland. Happy to hear that progress is happening on the back healing.
Scott, you worry too much. π Like Seribi mentioned, I myself have been dutifully attentive to a webcomic far more inconsistent than this. I’m not going anywhere. π
So glad to hear that you’re doing better! π Especially that blood pressure! π And it’s so great that the anti-inflammatory pills are helping with the pain!
BTW, These environs ROCK!
Hey man, don’t work too hard just because you are starting to feel better. You don’t want to make it worse right when you are on the road to recovery!
Did you know that there are 2 ‘symbols’ That Describes how much I like your Comic….
<3
Take ur time, and rest. don’t destroy your back, as you may never be able to sit again. If that ever happens who will continue the Story.?
“IΓ’β¬β’m hoping I donΓ’β¬β’t lose too many readers with this medical leave”…
I doubt you will. There’ll be a few less hits on the site until the main pages start appearing again, but that’s got nothing to do with loss of readership – we’re all just checking in slightly less often, is all.
The story, art, and pacing are incredibly good, and no one’s just going to quit reading because you take a medical leave (while still posting intermission pages, no less). Give yourself a bit more credit π
Dude, Scott. We’d never leave ya cause of an accident. We just hope you get better soon! We’ll dutifully be interested in the making of your fine works. π
I do have to say, I like seeing the sketches!
Just get to feeling better. That’s the most important thing.
Don’t worry Scott … we haven’t gone ANYWHERE.
We are just hanging out in the lobby waiting for the intermission to be over and the movie starts again.
You are one of the sweetest, most dedicated people in webcomics and it never ceases to amaze me. At least it sure seems that way to me! π
We’re all still here…
Thank you!
Thanks for the music box, sir. I liked four of the songs and hadn’t heard a fifth. Now I like five of them.
hi scott,
itΓΒ΄s good to hear you’re doing better. but i really think donna is right to say “lower down”. meds can make you feel better, but you have to get better.
loosing readers? i don’t think so. we all love dreamland. why else would we be here every day and leave comments even for making of pages?
you’re so dedicated, you try and do pages although you’re not up to it.
please take care.
My family and I are still with you. Due to your lighthearted tone in such troubling times you have quite a few devoted readers. I went to Norwescon this year and was (happily) surprised by how many out of town friends had already heard of your comic. Get better and keep dreaming. π
I read once that being worried slowed recovery.
So stop worrying about the unlikely scenario of loosing a fan, and concentrate on positive thinking! For example on the huge enthousiastic positive energy that the delay builds up in your readers – “Expectation of fun is half the fun”…
Best wishes for your back!
wont ever leave this web comic that it is simply to good for. i might even reread the intire thing again. and i can fully understand how hard it can be to have back pains. my dad and sister were cripled in two seperate car accidents and some days cant even leave the bed. so anyway this is the best webcomic i’ve ever read so i can wait how long it takes. π
After the epicness of Chapter 13, I can’t wait to see what happens next, even if I have to wait for Book 4 to be published.
“I just need to Γ’β¬Εget over myselfΓ’β¬Β as my wife tells me.”
Listen to your wife Scott, its the key to any marriage. π
Thank you guys. Such wonderful words of encouragement.
Thank you so much.
I’m happily writing and hope to finish within the week.
We have some new models we need to finalize before I can start art….but hopefully everything goes well.
Thank you again.
These take lots of work, and it shows! Very realistic.
