Well it’s official. I went to the doctor today and I have a sinus infection. I’m on antibiotics.
I still somehow managed a page today. But it was a relatively easy one. So that was nice.
Also…here’s the great news…
We got Felicity and Alexander in today!
So all of the remaining orders with them included are being shipped out TODAY!
Donna’s been busting her butt getting them ready to go. I’ve been sketching all weekend. And now that we FINALLY have these wonderful figures…they are en route to you all.
I’m sorry they won’t make it by Christmas. But most of you should see them by Friday or Saturday. I hope.
Please let me know how much you love them. Because I know…you’ll love them.
Ha!
And lastly…
I will be taking the next couple of days (if not the rest of the week) to recuperate and hopefully start kicking this infection. So thank you all for the push to take the days off and thank you for letting me take care of myself and my family.
I’ll most likely post something Christmasey on Christmas. So see you then.

I’m sorry to critique you on this page when you are officially sick, but the guys have very glassy eyes. It makes them seem feverish.
Scott, I wish you a load of good mending! Take your time to recuperate from that infection. Sometimes, this is a signal from the body to take a step back from all the hurry and take care for oneself.
HOpe this thing doesn’t spread in your family and then runs in circles between your children, your wife and yourself.

I had the same crap. I ended up getting an infected tonsil as I cleared the congestion and that’s even more fun. After my own rounds of antibiotics, I’m back up and running. However, if you had a cough, I will say it will stick with you for some time to come.

As a one time graphic artist and art Director, 800 pages at this level of quality is truly fantastic.
As I aged and the deadlines started eating away at my health I went back to school and became a nutritionist and then a naturopath.
I would like to offer this suggestion…A bottle of Nettles from you local health food store, very safe and very effective. Dr Andrew Weil recommends this herb to all his patients with sinus problems. I have used it for over ten years and haven’t had to have a saline sinus flush done since.

I deal with chronic sinus infections and in years past have usually had them turn into bronchitis during the winter months. I’m not sure as to most of the other remedies out there, but I decided to try a neti pot to see if it would help. They look and sound nasty (and are kinda gross), but it has worked very well for me. I still get the plugged sinuses on occassion, but if I use the neti pot, they last a couple of days and are gone…versus the 2-3 weeks and bronchial problems of years past. (If you do get one, just grab the plastic one at WalMart, then decide on a higher quality one if it helps.)
Just a thought. Hope you feel better either way!

I agree with Blaydh the neti pot is the greatest thing for a sinus infection. Or rather, nasal irrigation itself – a neti pot being one way to do this.
See, antibiotics are actually quite large, and they have trouble fitting in some of the tiny capillaries in the mucus membrane of the sinuses. This is why sinus infections are one of the hardest to kick.
A saline solution washes through the guck, and achieves two things – 1. the Salt water breaks up the thick mucus and flushes it out (meaning it can’t drip down the throat and cause coughs and whatnot) and 2. the Salt water creates an inhospitable environment for the bacteria.
You don’t even have to buy the prepackaged saline solution from the drugstore.
one heaping teaspoon of Salt (sea salt or kosher – NO IODINE – that stings like a %$@*!) in two cups of boiled water. Wait for it to cool, you want it body temperature – check it like you would a baby bottle.
Now a neti pots are designed for this, and thus easy – but really you can use any tea pot in a pinch OR – and this is what I used at first, a sports bottle with a pull tip nozzle on it, put it in one nostril facing foreward, tilt your head to the side and pour the water through.
Remember to breathe through your mouth while you do this – that closes the pharynx so that it doesn’t go down your throat and to blow your nose out over the sink.
It may be kinda gross, but you’ll feel SO. MUCH. BETTER.
