Page 789…
Happy Monday everyone!
I hope you had a good weekend.
I finished ALL of the orders up until yesterday’s orders. So every order is going out today.
If you haven’t recieved yours yet. It’s gone out today.
We had so many orders (thank you all) and still so many coming in.
Since I’m doing personalized sketches in every book…and we missed a week being at Philcon and then NY for THanksgiving….it kind of piled up.
But I hope you all like your sketches and books and Paddingtons and Nastajias and Kiwis.
Felicity and Alexander are in Los Angeles and on their way to us here in Franklin, TN.
I hope to have them by next week and then ship out all of the orders that included them.
Again…thank you for your patience. Thank you for your orders.
We still have a couple boxes left of Kiwi. And I think enough Paddingtons to make it through the end of the year.
SO please place your orders soon if you’ve been making up your mind.
Also…
I apologize to all of you who emailed me last week regarding my Blue Dream Studios website.
I did get all of your emails and would VERY much like to work with some of you who’ve offered to help. Really.
I just need to catch up on things before I can even clear off some of my emails. I will reply.
I hope you enjoy today’s page.
Scott
I believe that in panel two, you’d want Paddington to be saying “your” rather than “you’re”. Just a quick FYI. 🙂
Lloyd beat me to it! But yes, ‘your’ is the correct one to use in this instance.
Love all the poor centaurs falling over their feet (hooves?) 😀
Didn’t notice till they pointed it out. lol. Great page!! A waltz with 4 feet must be difficult. lol. 😀
ha, i knew it! chaos ensures 🙂
You mean: ensues? But yeah, a two footer teaching a four footer obviously ‘ensures’ chaos, hehehe.
Gives a new meaning to the phrase, “two left feet.”
perfect for a monday…:D
Loved it. Odo you have a very good point and a funny one at that. *smiles*
You must have seen me trying to dance… even though I don’t have four feet, somehow I manage to make it seem that way. =D
Ack. Thank’s all. Typo fixed.
🙂
Guess he’s not as good with quadrupeds as I thought.
This is good!!! LOL
On another note, I got my book and Paddington yesterday! Yea! My son will love it!
Poor Paddington, maybe the waltz wasn’t the best dance to start out with. lol!
Great to hear Joey!
I’m eager to hear how he reacts to the gift. Please let me know.
🙂
Who was giving the explanation how to Waltz with four feet on Friday? All I remember is I got lost really fast trying to follow his instructions(?)… I can see where the centaur kids are having trouble. 😀
I’m kinda surprised that paddington hasn’t noticed alexander yet.
Hmm.. Paddington should’ve started with the cha-cha.. <.<;;
Lol.
I’m not even sure if I spelled that right. xD
I can’t see centaurs doing the cha-cha.. I can’t even see ME doing it, and I only have two feet (one would hope, eh?).
This was a funny page. ^-^
My monday’s not looking so good, so this was fun. 🙂
I received my books, and even my wife was impressed by the sketches. Thanks, Scott! Now I just have to see if I can lure my daughter Cora away from the curse that is Pokemon with them…
Wish me luck!
Gordon
Scott,
It’s amazing to me how you’re managing to get everything done (conventions, sketches, orders, daily pages, etc.)!
If you need to take a break from the pages for a while to keep up with the other activities (or to take a break!), I completely understand. I don’t want you get stressed out from overwork. My goodness, the holiday season can be stressful enough without out adding extra work to an already busy schedule. If something needs to be put aside for a time, I can’t speak for everyone, but I’m sure many of us will be completely supportive should the daily pages be elected.
Dave
LOL! …five, six, twelve, thirteen… heheheheheheheh!
Lookit all this cutetivity goin’ on around here!
@TheDeepDark
That was me giving the explanation on friday.
If it helps and you’d like to try it, have your feet do the back end steps and hold your hands low in front of you to mimic the front end steps, or have a partner in front of you facing the same way to do the front end steps.
For part one, the back feet pivot around the front feet with three side steps to the right, left foot first, stepping in front of the right foot that it is crossing.
The front feet step forward, left foot first, and turn counter-clockwise 1/8 of a turn.
For part two, the front feet pivot around the back feet with three side steps to the left, right foot first, stepping behind the left foot it’s crossing. The back feet step back, right foot first, and turn counter-clockwise 1/8 of a turn.
Actually, some methods of teaching waltz (most of ’em, actually) DO go to six.
I was thinking that waltz would be a problem for centaurs, no matter how it’s counted, and I see Paddington is finding that as well.
Polka would be very bad for fourfooters as well. Basically anything with tight turns. Unfortunately, that includes most dancing as designed by bipeds. Interestingly, the basic Salsa and Chacha would be good for centaurs. Only when you start to integrate turns would things get dangerous…
I think pattern dancing (line dancing) might be good for centaurs. All turns would have to be in the “rear” position (i.e. up on the hind hooves), but that could actually make for a very cool effect. I’ve never been to a dressage event; I wonder if horse legs can move in that grapevine pattern…
But check this (http://vimeo.com/1211060) out for some dancing even centaurs might enjoy!
Conga line!
thats what hapens when you teach someone with four feet a two foot dance.
(pluss faving four feet automaticaly guives you two left ones)
Ha! Paddington hadn’t thought about the whole ‘how many legs’ issue with centaurs, I guess!
reminds me of art from the old “Chakat” taur thing awhile back. someone did one at a dance studio or something with a comment about it beind difficult for taurs to learn how to dance.
Love it, I’d imagine a hoe-down might actually be easier (based solely on haveing seen a horse do a hoe-down before).
edit: what I meant was “Sqaure Dance” of course.
@Wynnefred: Centaurs can’t conga the same way humans can. They’d have to put their hands on each others’ butts.
@ Rhuen – Square dancing is what one DOES at a HoeDown. I think it might be a suitable form for centaurs, as well, with relatively few modifications.
@ Classic Steve – shoulders to hips is a minor change that doesn’t change the real flavor of the dance.
But close your eyes and visualise a line of centaurs facing you. They all start to irish step dance in front of you. Can you see it? Amazing, right?
every centaur has two left feet XD
And this is why you never teach something with four legs how to do a three step waltz.
I’d think centaurs would have their own dance tradition, probably starting with something like Dressage.
Ookay, time for Paddington to rethink his style for centaurs…
This reminds me of The Smothers Brothers routine of the three-legged person who waltzed with a two legged person. 1-2-3, 1-2, 1-2-3, 1-2.
easy to do, really. Just tell them to step with both of their left legs and right legs when he does with just his two. It’s not that hard. Really.
But Pokemon rocks…
Paddingtons just like tf? …
