wait.. what? she really is a spy? total 180 plot twist. .. wait or is this him trying to break the group apart? she seems very scared or surprized to be a thief?.. still… augh! 180 plot twists are so aughing!!!
Nope, it’s the oldest villain trick in the book. She isn’t a spy,but by accusing her, everyone is going to think she is. In that way, he sows discord amongst them, weakening them from within and making them easier to deal with.
It’s a 360 plot twist I bet… maybe not in Nicodemus’ eyes but by Felicity’s decision. But it will be a hard time for her to convince the others about her changing… she didn’t have a good standing from the beginning.
I dont know I think he may have something on her
or maybe she was a spy and then changed her mind
or maybe she’s not and he’s messing with them
or maybe…..awww crap i dont know
I guess I’ll just havet o wait for the next page
dam you and your clever plot twistes
In the words of Admiral Ackbar…
IT’S A TRAP!
I don’t think she actually did anything wrong, but since I’m a skeptic, I think outside of the box a lot. Probably a little from column a and a little from column b. In other words… Unwitting spy.
Hmm. I’ve come to expect better of this story than her being a spy, or him just trying to sow discord in the party (for that matter- why would he need to- he has the artifact- even if they DID escape, they couldn’t complete the puzzle).
I’m honestly expecting “none of the above”, anything else would be a disappointment. I suppose a magical homing device or some form of magical hypnotic suggestion would be ok- not good, but enough to slide by.
I really hope I’m surprised by something none of us saw coming, though.
I used to think that he was a class act. But then he spent three pages building up to a lame reveal like this. All villain respect is gone at this point. Silly dragons, think that just because they are eons old they don’t even have to try anymore.
well…if she did turn out to be a spy, it would certainly be a permanent way to quiet those people that still think Alex should have ended up with her, eh? π
i agree with everyone who said that felicity is unaware of having been a spy. either the tracking device planted on her without her knowledge theory OR the sowing discord theory. no way was she intentionally a spy!
She could’ve agreed to spy in order to escape (although she seemed capable of that anyway) but that doesn’t mean she’s actually TOLD them anything. Or he could just be tracking her. (although they’ve hardly LOST sight of the group since then) Or general “muahahah discord!”, yeah.
Regardless, I don’t think she’s been voluntarily reporting back to them, etc.
I thought Fliss was a spy for Nico to start with, because the way Alex teamed up with her was so convenient. But… I have to admit my suspicions have been allayed since.
As for right now – I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that either Nico is bluffing or (More likely) Fliss was forced into it and has had some very definite second thoughts.
Whichever side she WAS on, I think she’s on Alex’s side, now…
Well. I’d say, let’s see what master scott has up his sleeve for us to glean more of that story from.
But I reckon Felicity has been into doing weird stuff for that ol’ dragon in the beginning. How else she’d learn where to find that dragons chest chamber? Albeit, cute as she is, it’s been a little bereavement to have that thrown at her.

Well, I suspected at the firstΓ’β¬βbecause IΓ’β¬β’m a jaded cynicΓ’β¬βbut I grew to like her and didnΓ’β¬β’t want it to be true. (0,0)
Nope. Called it when it was Snape, calling it now still. It doesn’t make sense for her to be on Nicodemus’s side. It doesn’t even matter if she was in the past, because now? It’s not looking like she is. If so, what was the point of giving her screen time on her own underwater when she was sort of shunted from the group? I’m sure it’s possible that she really still is working for the dragon, but… no, I’m much more willing to think Nastajia’s just prejudiced. Of course neither of them are perfect.
And you know? Even if she does turn out to be for Nicodemus, it doesn’t diminish -her- coolness.
I think Nick is the type that would get more pleasure from twisting the truth than lieing outright. So I bet in a way it’s true. This means the tracking theory (which I like because he may have set something like that just to track the thief’s movement anyway) or less likely getting her active participation (at first). But her expression suggests she didn’t know or forgot.
Eh… I never liked Felicity, but I don’t think she’s a true spy. If ol’ Nick didn’t know about the Amulet, how could Felicity? That kind of makes it all big coincidence.
I knew it! I always suspected she was a spy. (Now I wish I’d said something sooner)
Anyway, I think she was blackmailed into helping Nick, no way did she do this of her own accord.
i don’t think she is a spy… if so what info did she give Nicodemus? he didn’t know about the amulet. He needed a scouting party to find them… I agree with all you who say that he is trying to stir up the mistrust in the group.
Rachale, I thought the same thing at first, but at closer look the whole tail is there… it’s just very dim because of the shadow.
No, No, No! I’m just not willing to believe she’s a spy. I’m going with everyone that said a tracking device/spell or that he’s just trying to create mistrust among the group.
I think everyone can agree that the look on her face clearly spells out “not a spy”. She was quite surprised with Nick’s accusation. If it was something she had been forced or coerced into or had later changed her mind, the look should be that of shame. If she had been a spy willingly all along, the look should be smugness or pride. I doubt that Felicity had any kind of tracking device/magic, but I’m sure that Nick has some kind of “evidence” to show that she was helping him all along to prove her guilt. If you think about it, it wasn’t until Alex and company dispatched the pirates (who are from Nightmare realm) that Nick showed up with his nasties.
Maybe the tracking spell stuck to Felicity when she stole the trinket. After all, she only knew it was “shiny,” and Nic has been in hot pursuit of them ever since she took it, even though he apparently doesn’t know what it is.
My take: She’s not literally a spy, she just got tagged with an anti-theft tracking spell. Of course Nic is going to twist that to sow dissension in the party.
Love plot twists and there are a number of possibilities here!
My personal guesses would be..
1) A tracking enchant of some sort on her clothes/armor
2) He does have that ability to alter peoples memories ( though I am not totally clear how that works ) maybe he did something to her memory to have her do what he wants?
I find it unlikely it is as simple as sowing discontent amoung our heroes he is far too smug right now after spending multiple pages gloating.
I think good ol’ Nick planned on killing two birds with one stone. He planted a tracker/mind control spell on Felicity, knowing it would both keep tabs on the group, AND sow discord. Think about it: now that Alex has sided with Felicity against his longtime elf friend, she would mistrust him as well. After all, it has been a few years…
I bet it’s one of those earrings or something she’s wearing that’s some sort of magical tracking device or something. She doesn’t even realize she’s wearing it, so it’s not her fault.
i dont think felicity is a spy. i think nicodumus put a tracker on her or a tracker on the key. i think nicodumus is just trying to turn the group against felicity. i would never suspect her as a spy. i think nicodumus is just plain mean.
im done typing now π
I think I’m with Shibashii on this one, she’s ‘physically’ been acting as a tracking device for Nicodemus (or something just as devious) without actually realising it. Either that or she started off as a spy and changed her mind. I genuinely don’t think she’s a spy right now though, but damn am I intruiged either way! O_O
I’ve read so many books that this does not surprise me at all. I find it fun to guess what’s going to happen in stories and I was suspicious since that time with the kraken. it seemed like she might even have called it back though that is only a possibility. I’m not saying she IS a spy, only that it is very possible though I like her and hope she isn’t or that she chooses not to betray anybody. I love stories when you can’t know for sure and your constantly going back on yourself (she is; maybe not; this proves it; but wait; I knew it ALL along etc) good job, thanks for this awesome story so far!!
Thank you guys!
I’m so excited that you guys are enjoying this little twist.
As I’ve had the whole story plotted out for like 7 years now…this was always my intent. But please be patient.
Felicity isn’t going anywhere and there’s a WHOLE lot more to her story than you’re hearing now.
monkeyporche, I not just by accident happen to like kitties a lot given the fact that I’ve been growing up with one, so I for one trust them. π
@scott: Hehe, I like adding such little nifty twists to my stories too. It gives the brain so much to tinker about that a healthy Hirnsausen (brainstorm so to say) is granted for sure. Keep up the fine work!
Wow. I…did not really expect that. Although, I should have. Nastajia is a smart girl, and her dislike for Felicity never abated, even when I think it was clear to everyone that she was no competition when it came to Alex.
Why did Felicity steal the amulet though? If she was really working for Nicodemus…did she know what the amulet was? Did he allow her to take it so that they could lead him to the stones, or did she take it with or without knowing it could bring him down? She gave the amulet to Nastajia though. I don’t know!!!
Even if Felicity was truly working for Nicodemus at the beginning, I can’t help but think that she regrets it now. *goes back through the archives to search for clues*
To be honest, I think this twist would be a little more gut wrenching if it hadn’t been foreshadowed so much. I’m hoping there will be more twist to the twist, if you get my meaning.
Ha, I was so right! I *knew* that she was spy – even if she did possibly switch sides, she was a double agent in the first place.
I’m actually kinda surprised that so many people trusted her implicitly. Huh. I suppose I just expect writers to always be jerks… cuz I enjoy jerking around with my readers, XD
To expand on what I said before: Felicity is a spy for Nicodemus, but she wasn’t a willing spy. Nico forced her somehow, probably with blackmail.
By exposing her to the group, he has lost his hold on her, and she will now work against him. ThatΓ’β¬β’s always an occupational hazard with spies, especially with drafted ones, isnΓ’β¬β’t it?
I think her complicity with Ole Nicki was telegraphed with that look they exchanged, that even Alex noticed, way back when they were in the dungeon in neighboring cells. I suspect that her heart has been swayed by Alex, Kiwi, and Paddy O’ “Cookie Face” Rumblebum and the friendship they have shown her. I got the feeling early on that she may not get a lot of real friendship, and theirs swayed her – I think her look is the horror and shame of being exposed for being a spy.
(Oops! I accidently wrote “spay” the first time! Sorry, Felicity! ^_^)
And yeah, I think Ole Nick is stirring the pot and sowing mistrust within the group, both to distract them and to handicap them in the future. And why not? He’s the Bad Guy. It’s his schtick.
Oh my! ^^ worth staying up for. Now time for sleep. Nighty night!
wait.. what? she really is a spy? total 180 plot twist. .. wait or is this him trying to break the group apart? she seems very scared or surprized to be a thief?.. still… augh! 180 plot twists are so aughing!!!
I really didn’t expect that. I totally trusted her. I think she got used; no way she was a real spy.
In a way i kinda saw this one coming
Possibly went into it intentionally and at some point changed her mind.
Nope, it’s the oldest villain trick in the book. She isn’t a spy,but by accusing her, everyone is going to think she is. In that way, he sows discord amongst them, weakening them from within and making them easier to deal with.
Dude I knew it! But then I let myself trust her…gah that darn cat!
It’s a 360 plot twist I bet… maybe not in Nicodemus’ eyes but by Felicity’s decision. But it will be a hard time for her to convince the others about her changing… she didn’t have a good standing from the beginning.

Or did I? Dun dun dunnn!
Oh no…. poor felicity! π
I still don’t believe it. I still don’t want to believe it… I think I’m about as confused as Tornaush.
Heh… I think he just put some tracking spell or trinket on her… from the look on her face, she’s not aware she was spying for him anyway.
Is she really a spy, or has Nicodemus planted a tracer on her of some sort, and is playing it like this to sow discord?
im back from my vacation
i had to catch up in this comic
but poor felicity!i bet she didint do anything
In the words of Admiral Ackbar…

Whether she’s a spy or not, Nicodemus would claim that she was, just to sow dissension among the ranks. So put me with Wynnefredd on this one.

The seed of doubt is planted either way.

ditto.
come on, we’ve all seen disney’s “hercules”. it’s probably something like the Hades/Meg situation in that. i hope.
Nope. Called it when it was Snape, calling it now still. It doesn’t make sense for her to be on Nicodemus’s side. It doesn’t even matter if she was in the past, because now? Is it me, or does 80% of Felicity’s tail disappear in Panel 2? It looks like the only bit of it’s coming out of her hand.
I think Nick is the type that would get more pleasure from twisting the truth than lieing outright. So I bet in a way it’s true. This means the tracking theory (which I like because he may have set something like that just to track the thief’s movement anyway) or less likely getting her active participation (at first). Possibly STARTED as a spy, but changed her mind early… As Nicky KNEW she would. Thus a tracker spell or item.
Very clever, Scott. However it pans out, I did not see this coming!

The fact that he knows her name says that they are connected in some way.

Thank you guys!

Felicity isn’t going anywhere and there’s a WHOLE lot more to her story than you’re hearing now.
But thank you and I hope you enjoy where it goes.
i knew we should trust the kitty, that’s why I’m allergic to them, to keep the spies away lol
edit: should not
monkeyporche, I not just by accident happen to like kitties a lot given the fact that I’ve been growing up with one, so I for one trust them. π

She’s not bad… just drawn that way. lol
Awesome twist… but I have a funny feeling it will twist back around!
i have a question:why does her tail come out of her hand?did you forget to draw the rest of it?
Wow. I…did not really expect that. Although, I should have. Nastajia is a smart girl, and her dislike for Felicity never abated, even when I think it was clear to everyone that she was no competition when it came to Alex.

Noooo! Not Felicity! π
ok, darnit… when does the next update come out? π

Wow I’m glad I came back to read this comic…I hope Felicity isn’t a traitor…
wait… so she IS a spy?
In TF2 engie voice
“That catgirl’s a spy!”
My vote: Felicity is a spy for Nicodemus, but will betray him in the end. That’s always an occupational hazard with spies, isn’t it?
I’m waiting to find out that she’s a member of the Guardian race.
OH NOES! KITTY!
…Well that’s kind of awkward.

Your avatar… Freaks. Me. Right. The Frak. Out.

And whatever it saw there drove it insane. Er. Insaner.
Is that a word? Can it be?
Seconded.
I think her complicity with Ole Nicki was telegraphed with that look they exchanged, that even Alex noticed, way back when they were in the dungeon in neighboring cells. O.O!!!
“Never trust a traitor, not even one you create.”
The plot: it thickens.
Also, Felicity’s cool points double if she turns out to be the token evil teammate.
I kinda suspected this. She was too okay with being marginalized and watching her shnookums being snatched by a snarky elf.
