Gary the Pirate…
I would like to introduce you all to one of my newest books….Gary the Pirate.
What’s unique about Gary the Pirate are a few things…
1) I wrote this one with girls in mind.
Usually I write these for my boys. But thought it’d be fun to do something a BIT more towards the girl side.
Mind you…I have NO idea whether it’s working or not. So please let me know as the story goes if it does.
2) I got to work with a new artist. Tracy Bailey.
Now some of you may know her name already from the wonderful comic Catenamanor!
I have to say. Her work is absolutely wonderful. ANd if you agree after reading the first chapter of Gary the Pirate…please do stop by her website and let her know.
She’s been working very hard on this story.
So now…without further adieu…
So you’re the reason I haven’t been getting any new Catena!!! 🙂 And here I thought you were a nice guy Scott! (Just kidding) Good luck with the new story.
Yay, Tracy! 🙂
Well, I’m not the target audience, but I enjoyed it. Gary’s clumsiness approaches genius, rather like Ivan Vorpatril’s ability to cloud minds.
I knew from Catena that Tracy was doing a project for Blue Dream. Now I see why she needed the hiatus! FABULOUS WORK BOTH OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait to read it to my little girl tomorrow!
Yay, Tracy Bailey art! The first book is a good start… it’ll be good to see where it goes. Please keep us updated here as it comes out!
(Oh, by the way, you mean “Without further ado…”, not “further adieu”. “Ado” means commotion or fuss, “Adieu” is the french word for (a rather final) goodbye).
That is a gorgeous illustration there 🙂 Makes me wish wowio was available world wide
I can’t read it T^T I’m not in US!!! T^T
I loved the artwork. Although I’m not target audience, i enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to seeing more.
Hi Scott. We had a bandwidth blooper that took the site down for a bit. I have it covered now though. Thanks for the link – we actually do appreciate the traffic. 🙂
Gary is going to be awesome. Tracy has been really excited about it and the parts I’ve seen look like a lot of fun!

Scott,
Awesome art on today’s strip. You really nailed the lighting.
I loved catena for it’s awesome artwork and great facial expressions!
It’s definitely weird to see her drawing humans, but this story and the artwork are great! I can’t wait for the second one!
I really condlu’t ask for more from this article.
