The Making of Dreamland Page 29…
Happy Monday all!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend. And that your Christmas (if you celebrate it) was great.
I’ve started scripting Chapter 15. I really had a tough time resolving some things. It’s amazing how as the story goes on…it starts to take on a life of its own.
Despite the fact that it’s all been plotted out 6 years ago. The subtle things. The hints you have to put in. The plot devices you have to establish early on.
They really take a lot of work.
Take for instance…Felicity and Nicodemus’ exchange of glances here.

Or Arvamas’ curiosity about the”dragon” Alexander encountered…

Or even something as simple as mentioning where we’ll be going…

All of these done HUNDREDS of pages and usually a year or two out. Just to establish the story later on.
I tell you…it’s not as easy as it looks…ha ha.
I’m enjoying it SO much. But I’m DEATHLY afraid I’ll forget something.
Anyways. I’m having a blast. And hope you’re enjoying the making of scenes.
Again…if you have a webcomic and would like to do a GUEST PAGE…please contact me.
I may put some up once these making of pages are done.
Hope you have a fantastic week. And see you tomorrow.
Scott
Just finished reading the whole comic from start to now, and I’ve got to say, how amazing! I love the characters, and the style of the whole thing, totally unique. Keep up the good work!
That kid is creepy as all get out.
Yeah. That’s kid Karen. She’s a bit…uh…odd looking (the model…not Karen in real life).
Thank you Caity!
That’s the sign of a great story and great characters that they start to take on a life of their own. 😀 And don’t worry Scott if you forget something I’m sure everyone will pounce on it and correct you. lol!! Hopefully it’ll be a gentle pounce. ;D
how you DONT go crazy is beyond me!!!
This is a very good insight into things, Scott. I enjoyed the few pages you posted in your comment almost more than that making of page. It’s amazing how those details are only seen in a short instant and actually manage to hint at future situations.
I’m impressed. It makes you want to read the whole thing all over again… and again…
…and again… 😉
I think it’s her pose–she has her arms out like the little brother in “A Christmas Story” when he’s in his winter suit and can’t put his arms down…
Besides, she looked much better yesterday, more natural holding her bucket. And I like that Mona Lisa smile she has… 😉
Man! Modeling characters is a special talent all its own!
Heck, just writing a story of this quality impresses the heck out of me, even if you completely ignore the illustration (which is certainly praiseworthy in its own right)!
@Everyone, don’t forget to VOTE! http://topwebcomics.com/vote/4274/default.aspx
http://thedreamlandchronicles.com/2007/05/25/todays-dreamland-chronicles-410/ So will this page still be accurate? I know the next destination was announced as the rock giants but seeing how Kiwi is close to Grandpa Pistachio (Is he really her grandpa or just a title he picked up?) will they go back to Gardenia to check up on him?
Yes.
We’re going to the Rock Giant’s land next.
And we WILL see the Guardian’s land as well.
the details are cool!
