The Making of Dreamland Page 11…
Another day…another sketch card.
Fun little breaks in the day that are keeping me sane…sigh.
Severus Snape from the Harry Potter movies.
I hope you all have enjoyed these making of pages…I think there’s a few more left. So I think after Tuesday we’ll be strictly fan art and guest pages and such.
I may even start tomorrow. So check in on the weekend if you’re around.
Anyways. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and thank you for your support.
Looks more like if Severus Snape was a Native American…
Yay, more fun making of pages! Glad you’re retaining your sanity by whatever small margin 😉 Good luck in all your varied insanity provokers. You’re in my prayers 🙂
^_^ actually, I was thinking Severus looked a bit Ben Franklin-esque. I love the comic, so the “making of” pages have been informative and fun to read. I had no idea how complicated it was.
I’m enjoying both the story and the making of pages, but I’m still not 100% sure whether you’re getting someone else to position camera angles and figures, change poses and facial expressions, or if this is something that you are able to do on your own, now that these characters and locations have been fully rendered. What I mean is, is your collaberation ongoing, or are you now working entirely on your own? Once that’s answered, I’ll have a much better handle on how this comic gets made. I always imagine webcomic artists working feverishly at a desk somewhere, with no human contact. 0_0
Thanks for posting these during your break.
It’s always cool to see the process behind the finished product.
lol.. have you seen that parady puppet show where it’s like “snape, snape, severus snape..” and it’s kinda like progressive techno where it’s got “Harry potter! Harry Potter!” and everyone else joining in until voldemort breaks in lol.
Love the ‘making of pages’ Scott, but I disagree with you on one point. I think storyboarding and layout is an artform all its own. It’s original because you are designing a page never seen before which has a beauty all its own. As a result, the finished product becomes something that is worth more than the sum of all its parts. Don’t sell yourself short. I think you’re the best.
WOW I have a Friend that would love this, is it for sale?
she is a big severus Fan-girl
Thanks Robert…

It’s called Potter Puppet Pals…
By the way, I love your artwork and the story, Quite compelling, and definitely a great work of Fantasy. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
Yay! I’m finally caught up!!!
…I found Dreamland, oh… March?
I used to do sketches for my comic too…I haven’t recently, I wonder if I should go back to doing that?
Woohoo! Alan Rickman! (He made a pretty decent Snape.)
…this is beutiful…
ericfromabeno: I don’t want to put words in Scott’s mouth, but I’m pretty sure he takes all the rigged characters and environments, then does all the posing, facial expressions, and camera angles himself based on his storyboards.
I was just wondering what you used to use to color your storyboards, it almost looks like chalk… I love how the colors look
Snape! I love Snape!
Omg Snape! 😀
You know, you REALLY should’ve made a movie!! You could make an animation with all that 3D stuff an’ all! Hey, maybe someone will make a movie based on the comic! But real people would be good as well as animation. they could use computer effects, like in Harry Potter.
Oh well, it would be GOOD, anyways!
PS: Still loving your comic.
