A fairy losing it equals an extremely small area of destruction. A stone giant losing it equals total thermonuclear destruction. It is all about scale, don’t ya know? 🙂

I think Deth’s point is that the Rock Giants value pacifism because they don’t want to cause ‘total thermonuclear destruction’. Counterproductive in the long run, don’t you know. That’s my theory, anyway.

clearly the rock giants are pacifists. i think scott’s point with this is that people are often not what you’d guess from the surface. power to the fairy-folk, yo!

Wow. I think todays comic really shows how much time and effort you put into this comic, Scott. I mean, not only for the epic scenes, but for the small ones too. Its just another perfect example.
The details of the centaur village alone would have driven me nuts to create.
I love how you didn’t miss a detail along Kiwi. I mean, ths shading on her arm lets me see the individual tendons on her hand! No ther 3D production I’ve seen (aside from the Final Fantasy VII movie) bothered with tht kind of character detail.

We have seen her carry one person in each hand. How far could a human go holding a full sized adult in each fist? If she is any indicator, faries are way stronger than your average human. Thier size is deceptive.

Yes Kiwi, but there’s also the fact that judging by you, Fairies have a strength proportionate to a being about ten times their own size…

Many of the BIG guys I’ve known who LOOKED threatening were just pleasant gentle speaking, non-violent guys. Paddington seems to fit this scenario pretty good. Like Harry Potter’s Hagrid.
It just proves the old adage. “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight. It’s the size of the fight in the dog.”
I’m writing this two weeks ago on Wednesday and I hope I like this update which could easily have been is the best I’ve going to seen ever! I also just hope that it’s going to had featuring Kiwi.

I think that’s what’s endearing about both races … the huge rock giants wouldn’t hurt a fly, but the itty-bitty fairies kick total butt. XD

You know, the rock giants being pacifists is also a necessary plot device, if you think about it. After all, old Nick got roughed up pretty bad (as far as we know, anyway) by a clan of dwarves. Just think about what a good sized family of angry rock giants could do to him! If they got a hold on him, there’s just no way he’d survive that fight.
Ergo, the author removes that possibility from the story, in a very plausible manner …

I always wondered why Paddington didn’t just threaten to squash them all if they didn’t do what he wanted.
Also … sorry for posting twice, but it just occurred to me that dogs are also like this. Big dogs are usually gentle and calm, and little dogs are yappy and annoying.
Isn’t that how it usually go the big man is all calm and gentle and the little man is like” What did you just say?!” itching for a fight.. My uncle is like that -_-;; well 2 of them at least… and they are the shorter ones… The big ones are all calm and serene.
You know if all ”flowers” in that village were like her ? Well I’d eat them too

in my life i learned its the little one you have to be careful about tho i always liked the saying “let sleeping giants lie”.

I’m just gonna point out, in most fantasy comics the biggest credited are pacifists, and it makes sense with the rock giants too. I mean, they’re herbivores. Most of the smaller creatures would be more aggressive and feisty, hence the grumpy, constantly irritated fairies.
