Page 869…
Hi all!
I hope you’re ready for 5 days a week again.
Man…it feels like FOREVER since I’ve updated 5 days a week.
I know it’s only been a matter of weeks. But…well…it’s just good to be back.
๐
As always…thank you guys for the support and patience with my injury.
I really needed that…so thank you.
ย
I just had a wonderful time doing the Gutter Talk show with Pascalle, Mindy, Joseph, and Alex!
What great fun. Thank you all.
You guys should check out their sites while we wait for the show to be edited for listening….

Tell ’em I said hi!
ย
I had a great time with family in San Francisco last weekend. Meetings were good. I’ll let you know what comes of them.
In the meanwhile. Thank you guys for showing up. And thank you for all of the wonderful comments. I love reading them and knowing that you guys “get” Dreamland. You really do. Thank you all and have a great day!
Scott
I think horse dude is overestimating just how childish and innocent Alex can be.
OK, Alex… It’s time to do your homework!
Is that a feather in his butt???
“I hope youรขโฌโขre ready for 5 days a week again.” I just check my birth certificate, and yes, I was born ready.
Wow, uhm… That feather in the last panel looks to be in an awkward place. Though it looks like I’m not the first person to point that out.

Hey it’ll be great seeing things move along with 5 days a week.
I hope you don’t wear yourself out. I understand how it’s hard to stop when you’re doing something you love.
How’s he going to fly then? Recalls to mind the scene in ‘Hook’ in which Robin William’s Peter Pan character tries to fly in Neverland with disastrous results.
ok, just recapping what eariler people may have said.. the feather’s odd placement.. and then the handprint… that brought a lot of odd thoughts that had joined forces with the ones about the feather… x.x so what were you trying to convey in that last panel? i got sidetracked the moment the feather entered my vison… and those with gutters for minds may mistake the meanings… and great… now i must go clean my head, for it wandered into the gutters.. x.x
so.. I know I am crazy but does the feather have anything to do with flying??
I love this site, it’s artwork, it’s insights, AND it’s implicit humor. The latter is ever-present in wonderfully unintentional ways. For example, in the last panel of today’s entry, judging from the LACK of appropriate anatomical equipment, the Centaur would appear to speak from experience.
Ok… I haven’t said anything for the last week as its a minor detail and your work is excellent and I hate to complain… but.. the feather really looks like it’s stuck in his buttocks… You might consider positioning it more vertically or with a second feather at a diagonal angle. Just my 2 cents.. Other than that I’m really looking forward to seeing how he is going to learn to fly. =)
I used to read No Need For Bushido! I may need to catch up. ๐
Glad you’re back to 5 days a week! And I’m glad you’re feeling better.
Okay, I totally missed the feather until now. Thanks everyone. ;-D Before noticing the feather the page was very meaningful and very cool. Now I can’t stop thinking about the darned feather! lol.
Great to see you’re ready for the 5-day work week, Scott. lol!!
that feather appears to be attached to the centaurs tail, so nothing … odd has happened to his poor butt. ^^
I saw the feather in an earlier scene… page one or two of this chapter, if I recall correctly. I made a ‘magic feather’ comment back then… kinda like the movie Dumbo…
I like brents comments the best =P they made me giggle.
@_@ and then I read about the feather haha…
*facepalm*
I’d fix that =P Hopefully it’s an easy change, Scott.
It is a magic feather. Just like in dumbo.
Alex will grasp it with his nose and fly like the wind!
๐
It’s attached to Orion’s tail. Nothing wierd about it. Other than maybe the angle in this page.
Thanks guys.
i didn’t even notice the feather untill I read the posts… My eye was caught by the hand print brand. Who would brand a centaur?
yiehaaaaa
five days a week again!!!!
now I’m happy!!!:)
Glad you are back to full strength Scott! Looking forward to the daily dreamland again.
Glad you are feeling better. Don’t push it though. ๐ We love the comic but love you more.
You can see the whole feather. The view isn’t obstructed by the tail. If the base of the feather was surrounded by brown hair then it wouldn’t be as confusing.
omg! xD has that feather ALWAYS been on his butt? xD that is great. =D
I love the dialogue of this page. The pain of innocence lost and the struggle to bring back that way of looking at the world.
When I saw that feather, the same thought came to my mind as was in the earlier comments. When I looked closer however, I saw that the centaur’s tail was blending into the background and making the feather appear to be … oddly placed… Perhaps a little highlighting of the tail might bring it out and put an end to the illusion.
Expert mixing of warm and cool colors! Incredible how you were able to make it work! Great Page!
Yay for five days a week!! I missed it terribly! Orion, please, STOP TALKING AND START TRAINING!
Okay. So he was holding a smoking feather, but now it’s magically attached to his tail. He now appears to be holding…what? Where did it come from?
I just got a burst of happy when I remembered that this is back to 5 days a week now. I can’t wait to see what happens!
I think that feather needs some repositioning! Or maybe something to wrap around the tail, fastening the feather to it.
Think happy thoughts!
Now I am waiting for the tricky part of Orion’s lesson!
Best wishes for your health and luck, Scott!
Innocence lost… An important truth to realize, but not fun to hear.
Good stuff!
I love the comic, but this is the first time I’ve really felt it necessary to comment. Uh, about the feather. I looked back several pages and in 863 it looks like it is tied to twine that is tied around the base of his tail. But in this one, it really looks like it is sticking out of his butt. I mean, look at it!
I hope that you give some serious thought to modifying the last panel on this page. Maybe if the feather were hanging down slightly instead of sticking out perpendicular from the butt.
O.o
It looks like the feather’s stuck up his butt.
scott, i think cannot is one word. and “can not” looks like an error. anyway, check this out before you go to print.
Very very good. I would love to buy a book on this.
Shades of Narnia!
Next to the print where someone slapped his arse bloody.
Happy thoughts. Duh.
He already got a fair share of fairy dust from Kiwi.
When it lands, it gives him a raccoon tail and ears, and this somehow makes him able to fly.
Might want to consider starting sentences and names with capital letters before hitting “Post Comment”.
