Page 753…
Hey All…
I hope you don’t mind me re-posting yesterday’s big post about the books.
Thank you all again for going out and supporting me. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this.
And to answer your questions again…YES. The books are WORLDWIDE. Just go to a book store and ask them to order it. It’s available.
🙂
Have a great weekend and see you on Monday!
THE BOOKS ARE IN THE STORES!!!!
Ok guys. I’ve been talking about this for almost 3 years now. Some of you were around when I got my first rejection from the retailers who wouldn’t pick up Dreamland.
So I published the books and sold them myself off the site. And you guys supported me.
But a good deal of you waited for the books to hit stores. You wanted to purchase from Barnes and Noble, Borders, or any of your favorite book retail chains.
Well…as of today…I have not one…but TWO books out in stores.
The Dreamland Chronicles Book One!
ISBN: 9781600103070
Ed’s Terrestrials
ISBN: 9781600103100
Dreamland Book One is 300 pages. The first 4 chapters. A LOT of book.
Behind the scenes, Extra Covers, a Map, and more.
Ed’s Terrestrials is a funny graphic novel for kids 5-10 about 3 aliens who crash into a boy named Ed’s treehouse and befriend him.
Both books are available.
Now…here’s what I need ALL of you to do.
1) If you are one of the readers who wanted to buy Dreamland at the store. Please go to your local book retailer and ask them to get one for you (unless they have on in stock).
2) If you ALREADY have the book…please STILL ask your store to bring one in. Even if you don’t buy it…it’ll be at your local store for someone else to get.
3) Tell your friends and family. Word of mouth is HUGE.
For the last 7 years I’ve been working on Dreamland to get it to where we are today. I have at least 3 more years to go.
As most of you know…I’ve put tens of thousands of dollars into the production of this series and this is my full time job.
These books CAN be a big support of keeping this my full time job. And allowing me to finish this series. So even if you’re broke you can still help by getting a friend or family member to pick up the book. It’s not much to ask…and you get a lot of book for the price.
You all know I don’t like asking for much. I don’t have a donation button. I don’t cry poverty. I don’t make excuses and miss updates.
I try to be very professional.
So you know even asking you all for this is a bit uncomfortable. I don’t want anyone to feel pressured.
But I need to prove to the Barnes and Nobles, the Borders, and all of the retailers that we DO have a place in the book stores. And I can’t do this alone.
So if you have time this week. And feel so inclined. Please go and help us out. We’d really appreciate it.
Thank you all. We wouldn’t be here without you. At page 752. Over half way through this epic adventure.
You give me daily inspiration and courage to keep doing Dreamland. You guys are the best.
Hope you enjoy today’s page. And thank you for being on this journey with me and my family.
Scott
The lighting absolutely rocks!!!
The lighting absolutely rocks!
Hmmm, is it just me or is there something odd about the proportions in the last two panels. Something about Nastajia doesn’t look quite the same and maybe about Alex too, but definitely something “off”, but then I seemed to notice something a few pages ago when Nastajia offered to help the dwarves.
The door closes so that it seemingly doesn’t exist…That is so dwarfish! I’m surprised Paddington fit through that door at all!
I just love The Dreamland Chronicles and I love the way the story goes now!
But I have one little question. The first book is published worldwide, does this mean in Europe too? Because I have been looking for it and asked if it was available in Belgium, and they said it wasn’t. So is it available now in Belgium too? *crosses fingers*
Yep, Dwarven doors are invisible when closed.
Love the direction of the storyline now! Bring on the Centaurs!
LOL! The smallest character (Kiwi) advising the largest character (Paddington) to be careful squeezing through the tiny door. heheheheheheh!
Hi BlackRose.
Yes. It’s available EVERYWHERE.
You just need a bookstore who’s willing to order it. A larger chain store should have an easier time. But ANY store should be able to get it.
If not. If not…
Please feel free to order it from my store. I’m always happy to ship them out myself if need be.
Thanks
Scott
I think the lighting in this page looks great! It really has a movie like quality to the lighting in this one. Doesn’t just look like a light dome, but like a vivid sunny day. Good job.
For some reason I’ve read all the dwarves’ lines in my head in a Scottish accent =p
I have no idea why though =/
I am loving this chapter! Keep up the good work =D
Awesome outside design! I’m actually glad we are back on the outside again!
A fitting time to wake up, don’t you think?
hehe, i love the freaky smile on paddington’s face in 2nd last panel ^__^
yup, found the book on canadian bookstore website. I prefer to not go through internet though.. so hopefully I’ll get a chance to go to store this wkend and find it =)
Sorry I haven’t made it to B&N yet. I am going, and soon! I’m willing to bet it’ll be there in Manhattan – and if not, I know they’ll be willing to order.
Also, I further the kudos on the lighting – yay! And outdoors 😀 (But no dwarves 🙁 )
looks like someone’s gonna wake up soon XD
I definitely like the new lighting better. It’s more apparent now that it’s outside again. Everything used to have this unnatural glow to it. I assumed that was done on purpose because it’s a dream world and it was supposed to be a little surreal. Guess it wasn’t.
Ahhh! Light! It burns!! ^^
It looks as if Nastajia’s and Alexander’s hands collided with a SLAM! Maybe the sound effect can be moved a little?
I’m thinking that Nastajia has had a change of heart about Felicity?
Nastajia: “The nightmare beasts will be coming around the mountain when they come…”
Kiwi: “Driving six white centaurs…”
Alex: *hefting the sword* “So let’s all go out to meet them.
> It looks as if Nastajia’s and Alexander’s hands collided with a SLAM!
I had the same thought! I don’t think it needs to be moved though; it’s still pretty obvious that it was the door that slammed. And funny, too; in the previous panel it looks like the dwarf is giving Paddington a push out the door, and then he slams it? It seems he was in a hurry to be rid of troublemaking heroes …
😉
I’m glad we’re back outside too, but I have to admit, I’m going to miss ole Hognog a bit. And it will likely be a while until we find out exactly what happened to him and the Dwarves…
Paddy, Panel 3: “Uh, guys? …I’m sorry… I think I’ve smooshed her…”
*tear* rest in peace “king under the mountain” “if more of us valued food and cheer over hoard and goldit would be a merrier world, but sad or merry” i hope he musn’t leave it now.
