Page 732…
Well…she finally snapped.
🙂
Thanks for the English lessons yesterday (helping me fix the wording of Nic’s monologue) and thanks again for the support.
One more day until we’re done with chapter 12.
HOpe you like.

Ummmm did they just stand there wile she got slapped across the room? I think i would be right behind her trying to get ol’ nick myself
Will Scott finally explain the cut in Nick’s thigh then? Or will he forget another glaring error?
curiosity wants to know, is Nicodemus even telling the truth about Felicity? it’d be a stroke of brilliance on his part if he’d just made all that up to cast suspicion. he has no real reason to do that, of course, beyond being a jerk and liking to see someone in pain. i doubt that is what’s going on in this case, but the sheer genius of it, if it is…
The cut on Nicky’s thigh is from when Alex stabbed him on the ship (first page of chapter eleven is his rushing shot). I know it seems like months ago that we read that, but it’s only been a few hours in dreamland.
Try as I may, I don’t understand the “Nothing?” in the top panel of page 731. I think someone needs to explain that to me. What it means and how it works as a transition from page 730 to 731. In my opinion Nico should have said something before that like: “Do you have anything to say for yourself/to your defense?” or something like that. Anyway, sorry if my remark sounds a bit silly, I’m not English speaking, so sometimes I’m a bit stupid when it comes to stuff like that… I don’t mean to be rude. ^^;
Nic really needs to go through that evil overlord list. I’m pretty sure avoiding monologues and proper employee termination is near the top of the list.
The “Nothing?” at the top of 31 is pretty much “Nothing to say?” He’s asking, “What, you have no response?” He’s mocking her at the same time. If his line had been something like “Do you have anything to say for yourself?” then it might have sounded like he was going to give her a fair chance, which was never his intent.
Alex cut Nick’s thigh earlier, I thought.
Nicodemus is very good at making enemies! *lol* XD
“Ummmm did they just stand there wile she got slapped across the room? I think i would be right behind her trying to get ol’ nick myself”
I think they’re stunned with surprize at Felicity’s reaction.
But now that Nico’s distracted for a second (looking the other way) it would be a great opportunity to launch an attack!
Like, one of Staj’s glowy arrows right in the eye, to complement the scar from Alex’s sword! 🙂
Geez, “Leftover”, no need to sound so snotty about it. The cut is from here:
http://thedreamlandchronicles.com/?p=616
We have to remember that the scenes we’re seeing are probably all taking place with in at most 2 minutes. It may seem like a long time to us since we’re reading it, but to them its all happening pretty fast. 🙂 I hope Felicity wasn’t “in” on something more than what we already know. And I agree, what is with the cut on Nic’s leg? 😛
Wish I could edit my comment, Didn’t see Jen address the cut question. Thank you Jen for the refresher. ^_~
Oh nooooooos!!! Poor Felicity. I do hope that the rest of the gang (and the stubborn Dwarves) all jump Nic tomorrow and pummel him into dragon steaks. Though I figure he would get away long before that happened.
Good luck with Day 2 of Kindergarten!
English problem: The last panel of 732 has the King calling Felicia a “miscreant”. This word means something very specific, namely that she’s of a false faith — literally, “badly believes” in Latin.
Scott, you probably mean to say scoundrel or scofflaw.
You know that this gonna go cliffhanger cause Alex should be waking up pretty soon, so will be on pins and needles waitin’ to see what will be happenin’ when he goes back to sleep.
Miscreant *also* means “a scoundrel; reprobate”
(Webster’s New Millenniumâ„¢ Dictionary of English)
So I think Nic calling a confirmed thief that is perfectly on target.
Miscreant: a person who behaves badly or in a way that breaks the law. Using it as a synonym for “heretic” is an archaic use of the word, so there shouldn’t be any problem with Scott’s use of it here. :3
Dang!!! I like Felicity even more now! 🙂
Great job so far Scott, SO glad the focus has moved back to the ‘other’ characters (i.e. no ‘Hobnob’ AKA Dwarf King). Now I only hope the guys and girls start sticking up for Felicity, the fact that she changed her mind (confirmed even by Nicodemus himself) and was genuinely on their side in the end should mean something to them, at least. (oh and yeah, Hobnob, get up off your gargantuan b%^^cheeks and DO something useful for once!!! :P)
I read somewhere that a human dream only lasts 2-3 seconds, so being in Dreamland must be for a very short time :V
I have a feeling Dreamland dreams are a different order altogether. I mean, the sword goes back and forth with him, along with wounds.
So much for being a nimble cat.
I think her situation is like Lando Cowrision (I know I spelled that wrong so dont kill me all you SW fans) she was between a rock and a hard place and made the only choice that would keep her alive.
Thanks for the help, tuxedobob. 🙂
I think it’s time to kick some Dragon butt
Morita, maybe so, but I have dreams that seem to go on for 10-15 minutes, sometimes longer. It’s just harder to remember the longer, multi-scene dreams.
Also: Nicodemus is very good at making enemies. That seems to be a occupational hazard with powerful people: they think they are strong enough that they don’t have to worry about alienating the peons–until the peons band together and overthrow them.
Nick has a pimp-hand
This deal keeps getting worse all the time…
I can haz backzlap?
1 HIT KO!
