Comic Con wrapup below. Check the blog.
Dad’s surgery is now scheduled on Wednesday morning.
Everyone is doing well otherwise. The boys are starting Kindergarten in a few weeks and I’m a nervous wreck about that more than my dad’s open heart surgery.
I’m a nut.
It looks like I’ll definitely be taking some time off between chapter 12 and 13.
I’d like to officially ask if any creators would like to do guest strips…please contact me.
I’m now considering it.
Love that ‘Ho Ho Ho’ at the top if it was on purpose! 🙂
Ha ha, no one ever told the dwarf king about the Double Dutch Bus!!
I already got a hole in my socks?
Hmm, can’t I have the text of that stone? I’m sure it would entertain me and make me laugh more that the comic itself =P
hehe…’HO HO HO’
if the dwarf king actually smiled, he would resemble santa clause n_n
I don’t think that’s Ho Ho Ho, I think that’s Wo Wo Wo — the first letter looks like it has two points on the bottom and three on the top.
Nice text 😉 hahaha
This is what I could read of the text.
Looks like the lyrics of “The Double Dutch Bus”
” … HO-HO-HO
… down the street
…
… your feet
… your fare
… you’re
… Aff…
…
Well I’ll be (?) here it comes
The Double Dutch bus is on the street
You’d better get off the curb
Move your feet
Bus fare trans-pass
That’s the (?) my money lasts
Ain’t got no car to get around
When I go to work, I’ve gotta go downtown
…
…
… to blame
… I’m right
… understand
… dy’s getting down
Say uptown say downtown
Well I’ve missed my bus I know I’m late
I’ve gotta do something I know I hate
I’m gonna walk to work fifteen blocks.
I already got a hole in my socks.
Go ahead and laugh, that’s okay,
Cause what I really wanna say
I got bad feet, my corns hurt
To top it off I’m lost for work
Let me tell you what I say
When I’m dealing with the funky sidewalk
Let me show now to walk
When I gotta do my funky walk
Let me tell you what I say
When I’m dealing with the funky sidewalk
I say ssssssssss – sugar”
lol
Too bad the text is not so clear to see.
Well ain’t that dandy? Mister Dwarf King…it would seem you’re always the last to know… X}
It’s either Ho Ho Ho or 110 110 110…
LOL!
You guys are quick.
Yes…the dwarves’ text is the Double Dutch Bus.

You’re always translating my text so I thought I’d have some fun this time.
🙂
The writting looks like cyrillic…
Thanks, Bakelandt. It was Greek to me. Or at least Greek lettering.
When I saw the long string of one letter in the last line, I thought of that inscription from “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” You know, the one about the Castle of AAAAA.
Here’s thinking of you on Wednesday, Scott… and yeah… Kindergarten. Those were rough times. 🙂 My kids actually went to a preschool for a while before starting Kindergarten… they’ll be in 2nd and 4th this year… man, I’m getting old. 😛
Definitely Greek. But I still can’t even pronounce it.
color me impressed! i would never have guessed double dutch bus or even attempted to decode it!
life is a rollercoaster, what goes down must come back up.
I’d SO love to see Nastajia’s “I told you so” look right now… hehe
I love the comic! I pray your dad’s surgery goes well.
I hope your dad’s surgery goes well. He’ll be in my prayers.
*can’t wait to see what the Dreamlanders read out of the text*
Hey, if you’re looking for guest artists, I think you should ask roofpig (Peter Tarkulich). I’m sure he would be flattered by such an offer. Try finding him at bardsworth.com .
Very clever! I like to put hidden message in ancient writings too.
That’s Dwarvish for “Now I have a machine gun… HO HO HO” 😉
Nice reveal effect, dramatically speaking, BTW!
The lettering is Greek, but with a few twists.
lol @ double dutch bus..
Hmmmmm …..ya know, if I type something in Microsoft Word, and then change the font to “Symbol” it looks very familiar….
*gasp* Not the Double Dutch Bus! Anything but that!
Great job with these dwarves. Though never thought their king would be a giant dwarf lol. Great job on the Dwarven script on this page
The lettering is written with greek letters, but it’s not Greek. It’s actually english, written in ‘Symbol’ font. Ellinika einai pio dikolo na katalaveni.
My first thought was “Ho Ho Ho! Green giant!”
Man…and I was going to say…
Bognok: “By my ancestors…this is is the script to the next few chapters!”
omg… I just realized that the tablets are written in ancient Greek!
I thought it was McLanish for:
“HO HO HO – Now I have a lightsabre.”
thats greek!!! wait wheres my translators key
It stands to reason that the dwarves would have the largest tablet yet. Compensation maybe?
I’m really liking this transition between night and day in the background. . .
“We’ve hidden the dwarven tablet in the Castle AAAAAAAAAAARGH.”
*puts on glasses and starts to read at the middle*
Hey, what’s this line… “Hastur, Hastur, Hastur…?”
Why is their ancient language Greek?
Now they just need someone who can read it…
Again, it’s English in symbolfont. Not Greek.
Agreed that the font should at least be futhark.
