Page 712…
I’m on my way to San Diego today.
It’s going to be weird not having my own booth. But I hopefully will enjoy being at the IDW booth.
I am bringing the Paddington Plush, Alexander figure, and Felicity figure to show off.
These are just the prototypes…but they’re so awesome…they needed to make the journey with me.
🙂
See you there.
Come on dwarf! She’s in the right! (0_o)
I’m babysitting and the kid I’m watching just walked over and asked if she gave him a new earring
I just noticed that the symbol on the dwarf’s chest looks like somebody turned a caduceus upside-down and shook the snakes off.
A Paddington plushie? It’s hard for me to picture a soft representation of a rock giant.
I’ll add one more clarification to what I said yesterday about the current chapter. Don’t get me wrong – overall I love this comic – just that the current series is too drawn out.
Chapter 12 started June 6. It is now July 23. Nearly 2 months have been spent on Nastajia showing the Dwarf king some kind of magical device. Really. That’s it. Is this magical device some kind of lynchpin to the entire story? Somehow I think this plot point could have been a little more condensed.
So now the story begins to unfold more about the tablets…or will after lol
Also, have a good time in San Diego Scott!
It glows more when it’s closer to the king! Maybe his ancestor’s message is hidden on his person, perhaps part of his traditional armor or something.
Only question I have, is why is the dwarf king sooooo much bigger than the other dwarves? I think it’s steroids, which would also explain why he was so quick to anger…
i started reading this comic this morning and I love it! I only read the comments from yesterday… Sony? WB? Is this coming to life onscree? YAY!!! Its a kid-friendly and does not dull the mind. However, Shane up above does have a point with this particular arc taking a while. Keep up the intensity otherwise you will be relying too much on the loyalty of your readership for page hits.
quick question sorry, why is it that the dwarfs are taller than the elfs in this universe?
Seems like this amulet’s pretty darned important to the storyline to me.
Likewise Nicodemus’ control of the nightmare beasts.
Likewise the difficulty of a young elven princess being taken seriously where her parents seem to have failed.
lay off, guys. There’s lots going on here.
i want a paddington plushie…….. =3
@ jayna: haha, after you said that, i can suddenly picture him studying the amulet a bit, then try to decorate his beard or hair or ear with it XD
Bognok: …indeed. (c’mon… say it!)
or how about maybe instead
Bognok: sigh… very well
haha funny indigo
or maybe he will say explain again 😀
AAAH! I should have known not to stay up until after midnight just to see the new cartoon while Scott is traveling! 🙁 oh, well, I guess I’ll just have to wait until tomorrow. I hope you have fun, Scott. 🙂
I think the real issue here is not so much that it’s a long event, but it’s taking too long to show it. We have two lines of dialog (technically, one sentence) on this page for example. And the rest is just long pauses. I know it’s semi-hypocritical of me, I take ages to get around to anything in my comic, but I think several readers are having their patience strained with these ‘filler’ pages. I’ve noticed a trend towards this in the past few months, possibly because Scott is running low on buffer pages and is trying to stretch things beyond reasonable limits, making quick and easy pages, so he doesn’t run out. I love your comic Scott, but please don’t feel like you have to sacrifice the flow just so you can keep daily updates.
I thought the pause on this page was quite appropriate, actually. The dwarf was all against our heroes for so many pages, now he suddenly had to make a decision to trust them, it requires some thought. Especially since I think this bias has been going on for quite some time before the friends fell in here. You may argue when he decide to help fight them monster, he already made the choice, but I think at that time, he still hasn’t decided, more like “oh well, we’ll have to get rid these monsters anyways. We’ll join the fight now and then see what they have to say.”
And enlightenment shown down upon him!!!
I just started reading this comic a week or so ago… and it’s the best thing ever. I’ve had the link to the first page for a long time, it just took awhile to decide to start reading it. I’m glad I did! n__n
10 to 1 he crushes it in his hand.
Bognok: “But I only had one father!”
Nastajia: “No, FORE…oh never mind.”
Seconded.
I also think when you see it in printed book form (or feature film form? ^_^), it will flow differently, and not feel as slow to you.
I like the profile of Nastagia. 🙂
The flow is fine when you have several hundred pages to read. People reading now or anytime in the future can keep clicking the next button. With a 5 second page load time it really is not too drawn out or slow.
Bognok: … Lol no. *tosses amulet into the abyss*
I agree with the Psychotic Chicken. I think of this more as a comic book being revealed one page at a time, rather than a series that is meant to stand alone each day.
