Welcome to Twitter, it recently sucked me in too. The best sort of insipitude, I love it.
And thank you for the comic, I’ve been following for a year, and still hooked.

Dunno. Not really clear there that he’s giving a nod. Almost looks like he’s staring his guard down but they ignore him and help anyway.
Is it just me, or do those dwarves seem happier now that they get the okay to do battle? *lol* X} (I mean, isn’t that what we all want? To kick some Nightmare Beast butt?) =D
One of the gaps in this very realistic form of cartoon is the lack of a way to show motion. For large motion, you can show the person off balance in a swing or a stride. For small motion, a pen-and-ink cartoonist could add lines or arcs to show the path of motion. Perhaps you need to find something similar? I think it was Will Eisner who used a series of incomplete frames showing a narrowing window of the part in motion, often from the side. Would something like that work for you, or would it spoil the storytelling flow?
where’s kiwi and felocity?
Great Comic! Not so sure about the middle dwarf with the “periwinkle” and “lavender” colored Axe with the matching gauntlets. Looked to me like one of those inflatable toys you get at a carnival game than something that will be used to kill the nightmare beasts….
Anyway still love the comic and so do my kids! I have been letting them read it though the Wowio books. Hopefully Wowio will be back up soon, my kids are still waiting for book 10.
the second panel I think should have had more stances then then all of them holding it out in front of them like have one were its leaning the wood of the axe agenst its neck in a resting postion(sp)
I find it redundant that I had a dream about your webcomic :X
To me it looks like Bognok is nodding perfectly fine. You see similar nods like that in a lot of movies.
aaannd, I’m caught up. Took me two days of sneaky reading at work 🙂 excellent series, beautiful frames and sweet fairy-tale story.
Hope it’s working out for you economically and time-wise to keep doing this. I’m recommending it to my daughter and select friends (the kind who like fairy tales).
Thank you all for your kind words. Welcome to you new readers. And thanks for the wonderful feedback.
You guys know I take everything to heart and will do my best to continue to improve this series as I go.
🙂
i love the comic scott
🙂 im alittle late to say that
3Fangs: Yeah, they do. Woo, a fray!
hey,i read this comic for 3weeks and i have to say i’ts great;] i love it;Di hope you will finish it in 2009:P
Chop! Chomp! Hack! Whip! Puree!
Chomp? Did a dwarf just bite one of those things? (NOt to say they wouldn’t…)
In martial arts I learned something. There is no fighting dishonorably. There is only fighting effectively, or not fighting at all. So…a dwarf going “chomp” is using everything he has.
Slice! Dice! Julienne! Mince!
Lather! Rinse! Repeat!
Oh, wait…
Behold the power… of short guys with sharp things!
Loving “the nod” lol!
YAY! Huge batle scene with lots of killing and BLOOD! 😀 I love this chapter :3.
uff.
They must enjoy this stuff.
Fearsome warriors those dwarves.
The Dwarf Soldier bites the Nightmare Beast on the Upper Right Arm! The severed part sails off in an arc!
Some comics back, Scott said that he’d made 5 dwarves and copied them for the crowd scenes. Now we get to see all five going into battle with no twins. Cool.
I think the “chomp” came from one of the nightmare beasts.
Wow! I think this was my first post when reading this comic. From 9 and a half years ago. Wow, has it really been that long? I am just now re-reading and it’s amazing how much I had forgotten. For those who are reading it for the first time now, all I can say is enjoy. This is a great comic with a wonderful ending.
