*laughs* I LOVE the attitude he’s got here. He doesn’t want to admit he’s wrong, and stepping into this fight would do just that, but he knows he has to do something or lose face.
At least, that’s what I hope/think is going on. Otherwise, if Bobartles is right? Dang.
But yeah, that guy is sooo stupid, I just hope he (referring to the Dwarf King) is actually going to do something useful at last, he’s been amazingly useless so far. >_>
Oh and thanks Scott, hope you had a good weekend too! 😉
And one more thing… YEAH NASTAJIA BEAT THAT MONSTERS A££, totally awesome right hook to the FACE! ^_^
Is it just me or is it suspicious how the gang landed in the caverns where another race, indeed, a race mentioned on the previous tablet is? It’s as though our heroes are governed by the forces beyond their control, guiding them to the right place constantly….
I feel like I need to say something in defense of the dwarf king. While we as the audience all know exactly what is going on with Nastajia and her group, the king does not.
This is what the dwarf king knows: the elven monarchy (Nastajia and her father before her) were opposed to the King of Dreamlands, Nicodemus (though not openly). One day, this princess and her group crash through the walls of his realm along with a bunch of Nightmare creatures. Looks kinda suspicious. (Until is becomes clear that they actually are fighting.)
It is also important to understand how pivotal loyalty is to the dwarf psyche. Assuming these dwarves are like most other fantasy dwarves (LotR, D&D, etc.), they will be honorable to a fault, and unswerving in their loyalty to what they believe is the just order of things, and it would take a massive revelation to change that.
Also consider the king’s duty as the leader of his people. Loyalty aside, he is probably aware of the conflict between the elven monarchy and Nicodemus, and as the leader of the dwarves, he simply cannot risk siding with a known enemy of the King of Dreamlands, because of the consequences such a decision would have for the dwarves.
While to us, this all looks like a lot of feet-dragging and stubborness, he is probably making the best decisions based on information available to him. Remember, he doesn’t have a central command center integrating developments from multiple sources giving him a clear picture of event; he has what he can see right in front of him, and occasionally a messenger (we have no reason at this point to assume he has the benefit of magical communications), and that’s it.
Given the information he has available, his natural dwarvish tendencies, and his responsibilities as leader of his people, I think the king is making sound, careful decisions to the best of his ability and understanding.
Well Dwarf, you don’t have to sound so excited about it.
Well they do look like they are having fun anyway. Maybe he doesn’t want to disturb their good time?
Jeez–he sounds like there are better things he could be doing! =p
now we’re just a step away from alex being recognized king of dreamland!
Why do I get the horrible feeling he’s going to intervene on behalf of the nightmare creatures? Daft dwarf… lol
He better whip out a hammer bigger then himself and get to biznus!

lol.. I was kinda hoping he’d say “*sigh* Indeed.” ;D
Heheh, Megan beat me to it! 😛

It’s amazing just how much harder you can hit stuff when you’re wearing gloves. Er….not that I, um, would, uh, know from experience, or anything….

He thinks he’s just rescuing some noob PC’s again.
Bognok: *sigh* “Very well.”
*Walks over and starts kicking Alex*
Dwarf assistant “understood, my liege”
*walks over and starts kicking Nastajia*
He’s gotta get that all the time. He’s relaxing at home, sharpening his masterwork axes, and some level 2 PC’s come wandering in. “Please help us!”
Well, Paddington does crush things…

So I really didn’t mean for that to turn into an essay…
Indeed.
