Not dreaming at all would be quite unhealthy. Some sleeping pills and anti-depressants suppress R.E.M. sleep which is considered quite harmful over a long period of time. Both Dan and Alex should be dead or at least have gone insane for not dreaming so long. 😉
Dan is confusing Alex. One time, he thinks Alex is never serious. Now he believes him just because he says so. Can Alex trust him? Is there something nefarious going on?
Maybe Dan can get to Dreamland just as easily, but he’s never had a chance because his brother was going… somehow? I mean, Alex ONLY dreams of Dreamland, and when he doesn’t dream, he just doesn’t, and Dan has never dreamt… connection? I’m looking for a needle in a haystack…
Dan is not Nico. Nico is not a bad guy – He’s just a megalomaniac. He’s a dragon, for crying out loud. He wants two things – Money, and power. The sword is a threat to his power, and so he wants it to either be under his control or gone forever. If Nico was the Big Bad, he wouldn’t have shown himself so early. Dan is the power behind Nico, the one who is pulling the strings. When it is revealed that Dan is in Dreamland too, it will be immediately after Nico is killed, defeated, or brought to the Good side. That’s just my thoughts on the matter at this point in the story.
awww! Such brotherly love!
Can I love that boy forever? Sooooo cute!
Deja vu. They’ve been there, they’ve done that.
How can you never have had a dream?
How can Alex never have died in a dream before?
When I was a kid I had nightmares so often that I became totally desensitised to dying.

Sounds like they are using “dream” in a technical sense, as in “go to Dreamland.”

bmonk: The ending twist reveal reveal that DAN IS NICODEMUS OH MY GOD PEOPLE
you’re kidding, right?
I was kind of joking when I said that
non-sequitor; Dan should wear the necklace
but if his brother “IS” Nicodemas if Alex dies he gets the sword
i just noticed alex’s brother eyes changed color again, they look gold now, WTF?!

You’re not alone, Artemis – I’ve wondered much the same things. Hopefully we’ll find out?
