When Alex had the sword, time passed unpredictably when he was awake. Sometimes he’d go to sleep and be alone, the others having gone on ahead, but when he and Felicity fell from the tower he was gone for seconds at most, since they were still falling together when he went back to Dreamland.
Yeah…never late…except when he’s new to the area (could get lost) and has to fall asleep at the right time so he can arrive when needed/expected (which seems tricky at best). 😛 Love that Alex is so darn optimistic about it though!
And I know that Dan spent so much time and energy cataloging Alex’s experiences in Dreamland that he could arguably know the terrain better than his absent-minded brother, but he got those notes from said absent-minded brother. Errors could happen. 🙂
The next page is going to be Dan fretting and restless in bed. Then Nicole gives him sleeping pills and he shows up to his coronation completely zonked out of his gourd.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah! Great! I just took 20 ambien to get here on time! Oh god! Abaddon’s back!” *Dan proceeds to attack a shrubbery and cry.*
Will Dan show up???
Why ask Alex? He’s in Dreamland, Dan is on Earth. It’s not as if they share a room anymore… 🙁
Does Alex dream now? If so, where does his dream self go?
Adults can’t dream into Dreamland expect true King can. Alex lost the ability when the barrier spell removed from Dan.
But Alex is physically in dreamland.
When Alex had the sword, time passed unpredictably when he was awake. Sometimes he’d go to sleep and be alone, the others having gone on ahead, but when he and Felicity fell from the tower he was gone for seconds at most, since they were still falling together when he went back to Dreamland.
So how can anyone know when Dan will arrive?
A true king always arrives at the proper time because any time he arrives is, by definition, the proper time.
Maybe he has the kinds of dreams that “normal” adults have these days. 🙂

To paraphrase: “A True King is never late, nor is he early. He arrives exactly when he means to!” Hehe.
Let’s hope Dan’s not so keyed up about all this that he can’t get to sleep.
Like, you finish your last wee keg o’ beer, and immediately wake up and go to work again? Pretty boring for an Elven Prince if you ask me. 🙂
That’s probably exactly what is happening.
