Was really hoping for a redemption moment for Nick. Or will he become the new nightmare king for good or ill as there still should be someone in charge.
Nicodemus is driven by loyalty to Dreamland. Nicodemus admitted that he made mistakes. Daniel promised to Nicodemus that he would get remembered for what he got right as well as remembered for what he got wrong. Nicodemus would be compelled to save what he could, and I think he saw a connection between the immortality herb, the energy transfer mechanism that kept Gilgamesh going for so long, and maybe how to restore the children Gilgamesh pulled the life force from. Makes me wonder if Nicodemus is powered by something similar that has to be freely given.
I think someone should at least see where they all go. Wild beasts are not inherently safe to be around, and these aren’t your average rabbits and squirrels.
If they would actually be wild beasts, I don’t think they would stop attacking. Their attacks would get much less coordinated, yes, but especially Nicolle would be classified as lunch.
… unless they are still linked and just remembered where the easy food is.
Real wild beasts are not inclined to invest energy unless it’s to acquire food, mate, protect young or escape danger. This was not their fight. Time to leave.
As for nightmare beasts, I believe they suddenly lost all their intentions. You know, every action is based on intention (unlike reaction).
So it’s back to basics = attack or flee. And because there’s no need to attack (everything around them looks harmless and they are not hungry), they flee to safety to invent new intentions.
so, you know, don’t feed them or they’ll become dependent on you.
actually, could someone else tap into the hive mind and control them?
And by “wild beasts”, I mean the kind that just wander around aimlessly. 🙂

And now they will probably have to deal with a super-powered Nicodemus.
What about Nicodemus?? Will he betray Daniel as well?!?
Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

More like lions and tigers and bears, oh my! =)

I call this your grave!
I call this a victory.

Nicole’s been miraculously evading certain death for so long now I even doubt she could be classified as a meat popsicle.
I’m kinda expecting the king and queen to say something like “Who’re you? Alex brother?” Dan hadn’t introduced himself yet 😛
I believe he met them in the real world before they crossed back over.

There must always be a Lich King.
I’d figure they’d just go feral and attack everything in sight, thus necessitating a new Lich King/Overmind/Queen of Blades/whatever.
