Daniel, Daniel, Daniel, you’re supposed to be the smart one. The readers had this figured out. You don’t need to explain it for us and definitely don’t explain it to Gilgamesh.
Haha, I don’t even know if this counts as a monologue anymore, haha. He’s more like an excited kid who just solved a riddle and can’t wait blurt out his answer. Here we were worrying yesterday how he’d convey the plan to Alex without letting Gil know, and Dan just one up us by actually addressing Gil and be like “oh oh oh! I know I know!!” LOL
The story is aimed at kids, though. 🙂 This kind of story telling introduces them to all kinds of story structure. If this was a story written for adults, it would be done differently. 🙂 Also love Alex’s thumbs up.
Honestly, I would have preferred Dan and Alex to come to this conclusion through teamwork and fighting alongside each other for the first time. Gilgamesh doing a “big bad” monologue where he literally tells his primary opponents all of his weakness and strengths was kind of a huge letdown. He planned this for multiple thousands of years, then just blabs everything to the people trying to stop him? I sincerely hope that this is a red herring and their “combo attack” is going to fail, otherwise this is some pretty weak storytelling from something I’ve enjoyed following for the better part of a decade.
Too obvious how this will end! After the combo attack fails, Felicity will seduce Gil, he will have to turn his dream self into cat person to make babies with her, and that is how the cat race will be restored.
1000s of years from now when Gil and his hordes of cat children will begin the conquest of dreamland once again.
NO! You FOOL! YOU’RE Not supposed to monologue!!!! (facepalm)
And both dressed to kill!
Seriously, what is wrong with Gilly? He is either dressed like a hulk reject or like sauron’s bastard offspring.
That’s almost exactly what I was thinking.
I do love Alex’s “thumb’s up” though.
Stop talking Daniel! Last I saw, your girlfriend wasn’t too successful trying to keep you alive 😉
And together, they become Captain Planet!
Can’t wait to see how this’ll play out!!!
“No, dammit, I was hoping you wouldn’t notice that!”
Bold move, Cotton. Let’s see how this plays out.
Makes a change for a *positive* Friday clifhanger 🙂
As was I. Does this mean Dan is a villain? I thought only villains monologued.
So, what happens if he just poofs his dreamland self to earth, Dan?
Kinda hoping one of the elves scares up an arrow or something.

Same thing I was thinking. Audience isn’t so dumb we need this explained, so…
Awwww Yeah! Queue the bass-thumpin’ Final Boss Battle theme!

Alex: Check!

Maybe he hopes that they won’t have to fight — that Gilgamesh will accept a bargain. But reasoning with a man who’s been on a mission for millennia?
Nah, heroes do plenty of monologuing as well … but I though Dan is smarter than this.
Alex might need it explained, though. ;D
how long we have to wait for the conclusion, everyone have already found the solution.
If Sauron and Voldemort had a child…

That I would like to see happen 😀
The VILLIAN should not monologue, at least I think, it’s okay for the hero to do so.
It’s kind of a, Look, I’m saving the day here.
I’m glad it didn’t take them long to figure it out.
More like “Wonder Twin powers, activate!” 🙂
Whoa… flashback! “Wonder Twin Powers, Activate!” We’s all gettin’ old, when we can remember THAT far back! I’ll be 49 this year. *groan*
Wonder Twin powers, activate!
