For an ancient dude who has been planning his return for centuries Gilgamesh sure does give away a whole lot of dangerous info really easily. Sure they would have caught on to the sword trick but had he said nothing it just might have taken them long enough to realize it that he could have crushed them.
Ozymandias, he is not. “I’m not a comic book villain. Do you seriously believe I would explain my master stroke to you if there remained the slightest possibility you would affect its outcome? I triggered it 35 minutes ago.”
To be fair, Gil is suffering from an extremely bad case of hubris. He thinks he is a god-king and therefore invicible which makes him oblivious to even the concept that he or his plan might have any flaws.
Not to get political, but I can think of a few other world leaders (past & present) who suffer from this same condition. Unfortunately it is a more common affliction amongst them.
I’m more curious to see how Dan could possibly explain this plan to Alex without revealing it to Gil, given how dense Alex has been shown to be. We still love him of course, but he isn’t the brightest bulb in the shed. Hehe.
Also: He was alive for so long, it might be easy to think he cannot die by those child-humans, he is over 3000 or 4000 years old, they aren’t even 25. Remember he keeps calling Dan “Boy”-king 🙂
Or, of course, Wonder Twin Powers Activate and wait for Alex to smile back at him and say something in game code that allows Dan to command the attack in game code…
All of it going so far over Gil’s head he might as well be Drax…
Dan: This time we’ll do it together.
Alex: I was about to say that
Clue By Four incoming in…
Three…
Two…
One…
LIGHTBULB!
We need to cross the streams!
And maybe tell em about the Twinkie…
The two swords will be combined as one…
I would have rather seen a disparaging “you idiot!” Instead of “that’s it!”
“Anyone have any duct tape?”
Alex is getting up. Slamming him into a rock wall wasn’t enough, Gil. You’re hosed. And deservedly so. 🙂

Exactly!
“Wait! I’m getting one of those things! A headache with pictures!”
“you mean an idea?”-Fry and Leela

Simple, “Alex, we hit him at the same time!”
Also: He was alive for so long, it might be easy to think he cannot die by those child-humans, he is over 3000 or 4000 years old, they aren’t even 25. Remember he keeps calling Dan “Boy”-king 🙂
Or use a modern word: “Alex, let’s combo!”
Gil: “What’s that, some kind of dance or something?”
Dan: “You’ll see…”
Wonder twin powers, activate!
If those two have ever played fighting games, I can see Dan calling out a combo move from one of them and Alex smiling as he gets the reference…
Or, of course, Wonder Twin Powers Activate and wait for Alex to smile back at him and say something in game code that allows Dan to command the attack in game code…

Or: “Seriously? That’s so cliche …”
What does Daniel have planned???
He’s not going to dual-wield, is he?
1 sword to rule them all
Stab him with both swords at once?
We’ve got to Whip AND Nae Nae!
… and disappear, being canceled out?
