How I think it’ll go: Nick eats the leaf and become right as rain, shoots a stinging quip back at Gil, and then take a deep breath and serve him up well done.
Hard to tell. It seems like he’s holding it in his left forepaw, but we don’t get a good look at that paw in any subsequent frames, which may well be intentional.
So, I’m guessing that Nic, if he was speaking, was doing so more in a whisper. Gil wouldn’t have punched him through a wall if he’d heard what Nic had found. At least, not before taking the leaf away, anyway!
In yesterday’s page, he’s holding it in his left paw (based on “thumb” position which seems to correlate to ours). In today’s page, it is now in his right paw (again, based on his “thumb”). I’m not sure if the switch was intentional or not though.
Gil is moving around a lot. In yesterday’s strip, Gil was to the right of Nick and several steps away from him. Now he is to the left of Nick and near enough to slap the ever loving snot out of him.
Also, where did Daniel go? He should be visible just forward of Nicodemus.
You may not be seeing Dan because Dan has likely woken himself up to save himself from being strangled, having first dropped the container with the magic leaf. Niviene’s spell allows him to wake up when he wills it.
chill, Gil
I do hope Niccy didn’t spend too much time on his Inner Villain Monologue there…

I am really really hoping so!
Was Nick able to hold onto the leaf?
Whoa, he’s a STRONG booger!
Is this the end of Nicodemus???
Oooh, that Gil is busy building himself one heck of a karma sandwich.
And I feel another cliff-hanger Friday coming on. =)

“Dragon! Dra-gon! I don’t do that tongue thing.”

First time I’ve ever seen anyone slap a dragon.
I wonder if it’ll restore his left horn.
Good catch.
If he did transfer it to his right paw, then it is likely he no longer has it. His right forepaw seems open and inverted in panel 3.

Okay. NOW I want Nick to eat that leaf. EAT IT!
Can I just say…I’m really kinda ooked out by Gil’s nose…or rather the lack of one that is recognizable to me as human.
So, Nick, what have we learned about saying our plans out loud?
Alternatively, there is more noise from the nightmares than it seems and Gil didn’t heard him over that.
A couple millennia of slow-decaying age can do that to anyone. I think it gives him kind of a Voldemort feel.
Looks like the years weren’t kind to the Dreamer….
Then again, he doesn’t ring the gong, either.
some amount of time had to pass between panels 1 and 2 (unless Gil can teleport). plenty of time for Nic to grab a bite.
Come on, Nick, get up. If anyone’s going to kill you, it’ll be Alex. He’s tried often enough.

I think that may be what has happened, but would have expected a panel of him waking up. Perhaps tomorrow.
I had the EXACT same thought. Plus, woah – that guy is huge. I always remember Nick seeming fairly large in comparison to Alex.
