Not Daniel… Alex will have to barehand-fight Gilgamesh and free those aged children. I hope with every blow Alex delivers, the children will age 1 year back!
that’s the problem with heroes being equal in power to the villain. the hero always has the weakness of having a conscience, so the villain will always have that much more power over them. So now it’s become, give me the plant or I will continue to torture the children. If Dan has any ability to lay a smackdown on Gil, now is the time to do it.
Let’s be fair here: if it was a magical girl transformation, then it would not be a stretch to believe that makeup would not be a part of it. Hehe. Especially given how old and wrinkly Gil is currently…hehe.
This is disturbing. It’s a great story Scott. Bordering on the line of story arcs that cross my threshold of tolerance.
I’m not complaining. This makes complete sense. I’m just cringing.
I wonder. I’m thinking of what happened in Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman and whether this has any relation to that. (Potential spoilers ahead if you haven’t read that, and if not… Shame on you! Go find it and read it!)
In that storyline, when Dream was trapped, some humans ended up in a permanent dream state as a side effect. Thinking about it. If those children have been trapped long enough in those nightmare bubbles, their physical bodies may well have aged, or even died. So what we’re seeing could be their dream bodies becoming more like their physical bodies. As sad as it may be, Gilgamesh’s power play may well end up freeing them and then depowering him.
That said, that would be a considerably darker ending than I’d been expecting, so I’m not really expecting this to be what happens, just a dark possibility.
Reminiscent of The Dark Crystal. The Skeksis drains essence from victims to prolong their lifespan.
Dun-dun-duuuuunnn!
Someone is asking for a whooping.
That’s it. Daniel, snuff him.
ew
Looks like those children are aging rapidly…!
Daniel the time has come to end the dreamer. You tried the nice way, now for the sake of the children do it the hard way.
Uhm…Daniel’s material body is under threat from the nightmare beast left in his room next to the bath he currently is sleeping…

is Gilgamesh about to do a magical girl transformation?
Nightmare Crystal Power…MAKE UP

This won’t hurt. We just want to drain your living essence. Then you can be the same as the other kids here, a slave.
Mmm, yes, and now the beam will rid you of your fears… your thoughts… your vital essence.
And Nicole is on her way there.
Or would it be Nightmare Crystal Power…WAKE UP? 😛

by their powers combined…
Magical Boy Pretty Gilgy?
Oh SNAP!
Last panel, I’m thinking less “Sailor Moon,” and more “She-Ra.” They used a lot more pastel rainbow swirls.
This is the problem with showing your hand first.

This plot just simultaneously just got the darkest and yet the most colorful ever. c.c

You’ve done it Merlin: you’ve gone pissed him off.
