Leaving the Nightmare beast alive, despite tying it up, seems a very bad idea, when they then leave it alone in the same house (and only across the hall) from Daniel, who is under a spell to stay asleep, and a very aged and exhausted mermaid.
It still has a hive mind, letting the other beasts/Gilgamesh know the situation in the house, strong muscles that might escape its bonds, and sharp teeth and claws that could cut through the bonds (or Daniel, even while the beast is tied up, if it just crawls or hops over to him).
Merlin cuts the portal, and we will see that the nightmare beasts are mere children occupied by Gilgamesh. The beast will be turned into a child ‘just in time’ as Merlin closes the last portal.
…Or have I just had to give a Plot-warning before typing this message?
I don’t think so. She’s still pictured with Dan after her exclamation, but I do think she is feeling whatever Merlin is doing to or with the portal. Not sure if that glow is just the light reflecting off of the pond or an effect manifesting in it.
So many potential events here. I feel a Friday cliffhanger coming on.
Ah, missed that matching effect in the tub, didn’t have my screen tilted right. Definitely both bodies of water being affected in some way. Tension building. =)
I feel like I missed the page of the beastie being tied up…or was that just long enough ago (and enough scene changes ago) that I’ve forgotten about it? :/ (Curse this “getting old” thing and how it impacts my memory!)
I don’t think we ever saw him except when he was first knocked unconscious. I remember in following pages people commenting things like “Uh…you’re going to tie up the beastie, right?” But I don’t think we ever saw it.
No, it wasn’t shown. And in fact, what happened to the beastie has been an ongoing subject of speculation since Nicole swung her lamp and it hit the floor. Did it die? Did the body disintegrate? Did they just leave it?
They have implied before that they made a deal with Gilgamesh, as Nightmare beasts, to keep him alive (most likely by draining energy from kids trapped in those pods), and doing so merged him with them to an extent. So they seem to be separate entities from the children, though they also seem to draw energy from the kids by feeding on their fears.

*grins* well if you did, you can totally say ‘Called it’ in a few pages time 😉
Is it possible that Nimue is being pulled toward that body of water behind Nicole?
I meant Niviene. Ugh.

I wonder what Merlin is up to and that beast is trying to free himself…!
Merlin is creating his own portal to bring Niv (and maybe Dan…and consequently the not-dead beastie) to him!

Of course that would mean there are a lot of dead children floating in the sea in Dreamland…

If the beast turns human, he’ll be embarrassed at his nudity.
I would hope not. The Portal explosion in Dreamland killed a bunch of Abaddon. If they’re actually children, that means…
I REALLY hope not.

Now we know.
I was thinking the ‘Oh’ might have been a reaction to passing gas in the tub. Haven’t we all been there?
Last page: “And Merlin the Magician desires one thing above all.”
This page: Bow-chicka-wow-wow…
At first glance I thought that Abaddon had somehow summoned a shark into the bathtub to attack her.

These beasties and Gilgamesh need to watch Monster Inc.
