do they really have this kind of time with Abaddon running at them from what looked like 10 feet away on the previous page? It’s a nice moment of quick peace, but realistically (for a comic about a dreamland with elves, a dragon and a legion based monster) do they have that time to spend?
Nicole didn’t go into the central portal, which is the one that leads to Dreamland. She was reading the map to see which portal she needed to enter, likely to get to Merlin’s body and try to defeat the Nightmare beasts attacking him there, and to join up with him when he wakes up, and lead him to Dreamland. Whether she enters Dreamland at that point is unclear, but I imagine that she would be sent back to her home, because they intend to destroy the portals.
My instincts on reading this page, is again to think of the old gaming adage: “Don’t split the party!” This crew has been notoriously bad about that time and again. While they can sometimes accomplish multiple things, it certainly also puts everybody at greater risk, as they have fewer allies to help defend themselves.
The main reason for the adage, though, is from a practicality standpoint, because when the party gets split, each group gets less of the game session time, as we have also seen as we keep switching back to different scenes. (At least it works better in book form, since we are still reading the story no matter when the scene changes, rather than sitting around waiting for the scene to get back to us to participate again.)
It’s possible, but remember there’s a bunch of Abaddon clustered around the other side of the Portal they came through before. There’s also a bunch of Abaddon around Merlin’s tree, although they wouldn’t know that. We’ll have to wait and see where she’s going.
I thought she might be on the way to find Merlin’s tree, but there are still beasties there. Wouldn’t make sense to leave the elves behind to walk into that.
I suspect that Nicole once again has the pot in her backpack and is taking it to Merlin. Felicity reads the spell to wake up Merlin, Merlin uses his remaining energy to drive off the Abbadon forces, and Nicole gives him the plant to restore him (either before or after he drives off Abbadon). Oberon and Titania are heading to the same area that Alex and Nastaje are going to, so they should meet up in some dramatic fashion. (Meetings in fantasy are always in a dramatic fashion.)
She wouldn’t have needed to consult the map to know which portal to go into if she was going back into the one they came from in the first place. We also know she isn’t going to Dreamland, because it is mentioned that Titania and Oberon are, and she is going in a different portal (and it isn’t in the middle).
Since she isn’t going back, and isn’t going to Dreamland, it made the most sense that she would be going to the tree where Merlin is. I think Bill Keyes hypothesis, below, is as sound of a guess as to what will take place there, including her having the plant.
Have fun storming the castle!
Hummm, do we already know what, nicole will going to do? I expected she did go with them all the way.
Do you think they stand a chance?
So: Alex and Nicole are really in Dreamland, while Dan is only there in dream-form. New drama?
It’ll take a miracle.

They weren’t under attack any more. So far, they had the pot Abaddon wouldn’t dare harm.
Now, the Elves are still under the pot’s protection, and Nicole is on her own. Hope she teleports to a safe zone.

Are you sure Nicole didn’t take the one leading back home?
No. I haven’t shown that yet.
<3
Darnit, someone beat me to it! XD
Just what I was thinking, “Don’t split the party!” but it is way to late for that.

I can’t wait for Nicole and Felicity to meet!!

…and she was never seen again.

I’m of the assumption that they (Nastajia’s Parents) are going to blow the gate to Kingdom Come, once they go through.
Here’s hoping she went through the right portal.
