because it makes more sense top jump down the cliff than to assume the gps could be a few meters off 🙂 give yourself to the endless drop. It is the only way you can save your friends
but in a wayi think Oberons selfless and brave attitude is going to prove right. Nicole, I find your lack of faith disturbing. (yet surprisingly reasonable even without my fear of heights)
The dialog in the last two panels feels awkward, like they should be in the opposite order. And Nichole looks like she’s about to push him over the edge in the 2nd to last.
hm with the dialog and the way she is holding his arm I’d say i disagree with you. to me it looks as if she is keeping him in place or about to drag him back
it also works for me with the text in this order. It makes the ‘no’ more definitive and insistent if it comes after the explanation, but i understand why you’d want them reversed. that’s a matter for Scott though. does he wasn’t Nicole to be moody and revert to facts, or be shocked and a bit emotional with the concept of what is about to happen against her logic. I’d say you’re right that it’s more her if she starts with no and trails off into explaining, but i think it’s better as it is now because it includes the environment and it’s actual danger into the conversation causing internal conflict for her.
yeah, it’s weird. Like, in the second-to-last panel, if she’s behind him (as revealed in the last panel), her arm is enormous, and why is her hand pointing up when she’s moving to grab his arm like we see in the last..?
She’s dropping gloves and stick! In hockey, that usually means they’re going fist to fist; I assume that’s not the prospect, here.
(Looks like I was wrong about them being magic bows. Hopefully those are magic quivers, though, and hold an endless supply of arrows. Because there’s lots of Abaddon around.)
Nicole, you should not discount the possibility of illusion. Oberon obviously hasn’t. Toss a rock over the cliff and see if it falls or disappears.
I would venture to guess that this has less to do with Oberon’s blind faith in unfamiliar technology and more to do with his ability to sense the magical illusion hiding the real location of the portal (my hypothesis anyways).
I agree the dialogue feels funny. Either reverse it. Or put the “no” between “are you kidding” and the explanation. Or skip the “no” part completely. “Are you kidding?!” and “It’s a hundred foot drop!” already implies the no and then added more info. To revert back to a simple “no” is awkward. And to add an “Oberon–” in between…. that sounds like it went from emotional “!!!” to gentle pleading “–” to emotional “!!!” again. If that made any sense =P
And her hand being in that position in 2nd last panel…. it could look like she was about to push Oberon in. Or reaching for his shoulder. Definitely didn’t expect her to end up in a standard, well grounded, exercise lunge stance with her hand on his elbow…
I have to say that I wish the entire comic were done in the format that it is now. I only followed through the CGI style because I was intrigued by the story itself. This art is far better than CGI. Less goofy looking. More serious looking.
Wait, is this a cliff hanger? On an actual cliff?

Oberon, wait! This is the 21st century. We have jetpacks! XD

just my thoughts ☺

…to try and catch an Omanyte. Hehe.

why not shoot an arrow into it and see if it disappears?
ha ha. Yup!
Ha!
I was thinking throw a gauntlet in… though a rock might be better.
He could just be stepping forward to look over the edge. No need to panic just yet, Nicole. 😛

That’s what I thought too! But look at that casual foot over the edge in the last panel =P
Just in case … there are other portals in US, right?
