I nominate this for Best-slash-Worst Friday Cliffhanger EVER.
All together now: “We believe Alex can fly. We believe he can touch the sky. We’ll think about it from now until Monday. Saving Nastajia, the kids, and flying away.”
In all seriousness, I think it’ll be the kids that save everyone. They’ll either deflect the projectile with some awesome ability, or pool their energy and fly off as the projectile destroys the ship. Nastajia will continue to keep them calm so they can use their abilities.
This looks like a job for King Dan! (Last seen staying home to go to bed to go to Dreamland and pop up in the Nightmare Realm where he last left Dreamland.)
I wonder if the giants aiming the arrow are part of Abaddon, or something else. There ARE giants and other monsters in Dreamland, we know. They may not all be part of the Dreamer’s nightmares.
(I also wonder how they can stop the arrow, if they can. Alex can’t fly, throw things with super strength, or any of his previous abilities. I would assume the Dwarf ship is too far away to get between the arrow and Nastajia. Kiwi and the Guardians are coming but will they arrive in time? There’s no clear answer, here.)
The kids are going to have to fly, or Alex is going to have to fly, or Dan is going to have to show up, or Nastajia will just bad ass her way out of it! Can’t wait to find out!
I wonder how many pages still, it’s all to exciting. 🙂

All the reason for Alex to get panic-y?!?!?
Slipped on TWC…so posting a reminder to vote. Not sure if voting even does anything…but meh.
An amazing week of pages. Thanks for this!

Welp, that looks like a good enough reason to pull out the ol’ Deus Ex Machina.
Nastajia! Evasive maneuvers! Serpentine serpentine! Airships can do that, right?

That moment when you realize your ship full of dwarven warriors is outdone in the threat department by an injured female elf and a ship full of kids.
And there’s no ale to ease the sting, on top of it all!!! 🙂
One ballista bolt? Really? How much damage could that even do? Well… a bit if it explodes on contact I suppose, or it rips through the sails..
