How will she find the road? She hasn’t walked it before….
Maybe outside a comic page, Alex told her the way? “If I need to reach you for an emergency, how will I find you?” “Go that way for 200 meter, and then go left, the second right again, my housenumber is 163”
Alex (and Excalibur) are waiting for her at the lakeshore: http://thedreamlandchronicles.com/comic/page-1755/
I guess the affinity between Excalibur and the sheath is sufficient to break the barrier between the worlds.
She’s behind the times. She doesn’t know Nic has switched things around and Dan is now the King. She’s heading for the King to give him the treasures she has because she can’t keep them safe anymore.
Maybe she’s going to try the Pool to see if Alex is by the pond on Earth. If so, she’ll find out things and maybe be able to make some changes, herself.
I hope Alex is still by the pond and hasn’t stumbled on home. Even if the artifacts are useless to him, maybe he can keep them safe on Earth or give them back to Dan when he wakes up.
she knew Alex wasn’t the rightful king. She also told Nasj and Alex they couldn’t be together since he wasn’t the real king of dreamland. So I’m guessing she already knows he’s been banished from dreamland.
last we saw Alex he was at the pond by his house and she has meet Dan and Alex there before and I’m guessing that’s where she’ll try him first and to give him those objects would be easy for her.
The simple fact that according to Arthurian legend, Excalibur’s sheath possessed healing attributes, where one would not die from loss of blood, or that one cut while wearing the sheath, would not bleed from the cut.
Hmm, regarding the healing attributes…. I guess it’s useful for Alex, but not so much for Dan since he’s invincible anyway. Unless it works in the real world as well? I suppose it must if it appears in Arthurian legend which is supposedly based on the events on our side of Earth. But that still doesn’t explain how it got separated from the sword….. unless we take into Traci’s point
So the sheath was stolen? And now Nievene has it… does that mean she was the thief? I guess she could have found it/stole it back at some point in the last 1000 years, but anyway, why did she decide not to give it to Dan earlier if she had it all along? Was she hoping to keep it for herself for its healing attributes? Had other plans for it that is no longer as important? Sorry I have so many questions :3 Don’t know the Arthurian legends very well.
So he can play second fiddle to Dan in Dreamland just like he does in the real world. Except now instead of Dan just being smarter and harder-working than he is, Dan’s now effectively God of Dreamland. He doesn’t *need* Alex anymore.
Yeah, he’ll get Nastaja, but geeze. Going from Big Damn Hero to shmuck? *Again*?! Harsh.
According to some tellings, the Sheath was stolen by Morgan Le Fay, and thrown into the lake where the Lady of the Lake resided in, (AKA Nievene), in revenge for the death of her beloved Accolon. If Scott is following this line of thought, which everything points to this, Nievene took the sheath to hide it, in hopes of using it to revive her beloved Merlin.
The problem lies, in the fact that she can’t make it to where Merlin is in our world, cause she can pass only through the portal (The Lake) to our world, she still remains a Mermaid, and unable to walk upon land, and reach her beloved Merlin, who encased himself in a tree (It was depicted in the comic, I just can’t remember which chapter it was in, or page number, lol). As for the reason why she didn’t do it before, is cause she couldn’t risk retrieving the sheath, and the Sibu Issahir Amelu, knowing that The Dreamer and Abaddon, or at the very least, someone was looking for it.
And the last part of this, is why she didn’t give it to Dan. At the point and time that we’re dealing with all this, Alex was the one coming to Dreamland, and Dan was stuck on the outside. We know for a fact that Dan is a bookworm, not much of a fighter in our world. So, having Excalibur, and the sheath would do them no good. Alex on the other hand, is athletic, and has some (Not much mind you, but some) experience with battle. So, him having Excalibur and the sheath would be beneficial to him. But, it wasn’t till Alex was booted from Dreamland by Nicodemus, and Dan allowed into Dreamland, that Alex found Excalibur, found Nastajia’s parent’s, that the relevence of having the sheath was worth anything. And we know that Nievene is going to our world, to give the sheath to Alex, simply cause ofthis page, Alex is waiting by the lake for news, and to figure things out for himself right now.
So that about sums things up, hope this helps you understand.
Thanks Mario! That makes a lot more sense now if she just picked it up and wanted to use it for Merlin.
She already gave Excalibur to Dan though, but I guess maybe she kept the sword and sheath separated because of their power, and as you said, maybe she didn’t get a chance to get the sheath before….
As for availability of Merlin’s tree to her, she WAS the one who encased him, so the tree is close enough to a body of water she can access to cast magic… but maybe it’s different kind of magic?
Indeed, back to the pool to get to Alex. Looks like she has the sheath for Excaliber too.
Now THAT I didn’t expect!
Hoo Boy, wonder how she’s going to react to find Alex has been banished to the waking world, and Dan is here now…?
How will she find the road? She hasn’t walked it before….

Walk? She is a mermaid, perhaps she can flap her way to Alex.
At first, I thought it was her cellphone 🙂
Any idea what is in the jar?

What does Nievene plan to do,give the jar and the sword sheath to Alex?
For what purpose???
ok… I’m lost now.

We assume, the flower that gives immortality.
Man, I want a waterproof cellphone like that.
I expect she’s going to free Merlin somehow and stop the wraiths, or get Alex to do it. Both Merlin and Dan’s body are in danger.
I hope Alex is still by the pond and hasn’t stumbled on home. Even if the artifacts are useless to him, maybe he can keep them safe on Earth or give them back to Dan when he wakes up.

why would the sheath not be with the sword?
^this
The simple fact that according to Arthurian legend, Excalibur’s sheath possessed healing attributes, where one would not die from loss of blood, or that one cut while wearing the sheath, would not bleed from the cut.
Also the sheath was stolen before the final battle, so Arthur only had Excalibur.
*singing* I’ve got a jar of dir-rt. I’ve got a jar of dir-rt
Thanks Mario and Traci!

If he is ageless, then he can be with Natasha.
So he can play second fiddle to Dan in Dreamland just like he does in the real world. Except now instead of Dan just being smarter and harder-working than he is, Dan’s now effectively God of Dreamland. He doesn’t *need* Alex anymore.

Anyway, thanks for the info 🙂
Or humans since filled it in or drained it and she no longer can access it. It has been a millenia or so.
Because it was embedded in the body of a Japanese kid called Emiya Shirou…
