Breathe is as if you are breathing (and is pronounced as such), whereas a breath of fresh air – or a dying breath – is what you’re aiming for in the panel.
“Will you put down your rock and I’ll put down my sword and sometime in the future when Lord Abaddon is defeated, we’ll kill each other like civilized people?”
Has respect been mutually earned?
Some of the greatest alliances have been established between warring entities who have overcome their differences and recognized the benefits of cooperation.
Cases: England – US. Japan – U.S. The warring dynasties of China.
Please list some below if you can.
I don’t understand Nic’s last sentence:
“To this, end I ask, though it painsme to do so…”
Do what?
Something is missing here.
Is he trying to tell Alex to help him defeat Abaddon, to form an alliance, or what?
Considering America’s thank you to its allies is apparently rampant espionage, can’t say that’s the best comparison… not what I’d call a display of MUTUAL respect.
Yeah well…the alliance was formed a while back…long enough ago that the people in power probably aren’t thinking in terms of “is it a good idea to do this?” but more along the lines of “POWER!! WE WANTS IT!! GIVE IT TO US!!!” 😛
What Ivresse said. 🙂 Scott did apologize to us for having this page end on an unfinished sentence. 🙂 We’ll see how the sentence ends later today…or Monday if the rendering takes too long. 😛
Possibly…unless somehow he learns to respect Alex during their time working together…or unless he realizes that failing to accept his defeat would result in being defeated again… I may not trust him or like him much, but Nic strikes me as being intelligent and, to a certain extent, wise. I just can’t see him failing to learn from his errors.
You know…I’d almost forgotten that the Dreamlanders were sending a delegation to the Nightmare Realm until I just tried to think back on where we’d go if the next page was our last in the Nightmare Realm for a while…I seriously wonder how that’s going to play out…
Only problem with this page is the second panel, the word should be “Breath”
….would you take this sword and stick it SOOO far up y–
–hey!
oh sorry. old habits die hard, human.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is that correct? I can never figure out which one?
Breathe is a verb, breath is a noun and you need the noun there.
It’s ‘Breath’ – as Black said.
Breathe is as if you are breathing (and is pronounced as such), whereas a breath of fresh air – or a dying breath – is what you’re aiming for in the panel.
…”will the rock to join forces with me?”
Oh! I so called this.
This promises to be EPIC! =)
Black is correct. If it helps you to think about how you would say it, the vowels in breath make an eh sound whereas breathe makes an ee sound.
Okay. Thanks all!
Fixed.
yeah
the enemy of my enemy is my friend … at least for the time being.
summad every ruler gotta take into consideration. *ggg*
I can’t believe that I forgot until noon to check the comic.
Nicodemus: the deceived spawn of Darth Vader from a galaxy far, far away. 🙂
Alex has a dragon now.
Who’s fit to freakin rule Dreamland NOW sucka?
“Will you put down your rock and I’ll put down my sword and sometime in the future when Lord Abaddon is defeated, we’ll kill each other like civilized people?”
Seriously, may it happen.

“It pains me to do so, but…Will you go to the Enchantment Under the Sea dance in the Nightmare realm.”
Unexpected, much??

Is he trying to tell Alex to help him defeat Abaddon, to form an alliance, or what?
“Will you autograph this sword for me? I’m a big fan of your work!”
“It pains me to do so, but…does this sword make me look fat?”
Okay, General Zod.
Yup.
I still don’t trust him. He’s going to use Alex to defeat Abaddon and then stab him in the back.
whoa, nick actually does care for dreamland, so i guess he does have a heart after all.
“No, it’s probably the fat that makes you look fat.”
… to give me your mother’s recipe for potato salad. Hopefully its tangy goodness will appease Abaddon and be the foundation of a greater peace.
Even if you’re an evil dictator, you kind of need to have a country dictate.
wow Alex is still holding the rock. I hope he doesn’t drop it on his foot when he reaches for the sword.
Give him time, he’s not finished his sentence yet.
Considering America’s thank you to its allies is apparently rampant espionage, can’t say that’s the best comparison… not what I’d call a display of MUTUAL respect.
After finishing that sentence, will Alex still trust Nic?
Regardless of what happens to the sword, Alex should keep the rock and name it “George.”
The easiest way to remember it is the E on the end of breathe makes the sound go EEEEEEE. Without it, it just goes eh. I know it’s lame, but it works.
Epic reference!!!!!

THIS! OMG please let this happen!! LOL! 😀
You know…I’d almost forgotten that the Dreamlanders were sending a delegation to the Nightmare Realm until I just tried to think back on where we’d go if the next page was our last in the Nightmare Realm for a while…I seriously wonder how that’s going to play out…
Exactly. Just read the word as though the A wasn’t even there. That’s why the E on the end makes such a critical difference.
LOL! Not likely, but hilarious! XD
Oh, yeah…I forgot about that!
Hmm. Will the delegation and the invading horde encounter each other enroute? That could be an interesting exchange.
Page is still rendering. Sorry. Maybe another hour
no worries, Scott.
Besides, keep on twisting it. I been totally counting on these two duking it out big time, bit noooo ….
here comes Scott, the Master of Plot Twists. ^^
I do love it indeed.
