This may have already been answered elsewhere, but… Why are Nastajia’s parents dressed in Dreamland attire, even including armor for “dad”, if they traveled all the way to America from modern day Egypt? They’d stick out like white against black. One would think they’d be wearing modern Earth attire to blend in, probably even some hats to hide their ears and forehead tattoos…
Naaahh…Do you know how many people would assume they were either cosplayers or actors in some movie or play that they hadn’t heard about? 🙂 Maybe someone would come up and ask them questions, but they wouldn’t be singled out as concerning by most folks…at least not in the States. 😛
Well I’ll be…That does make sense. The children would recognize them and be eager to help out in some way…and the really smart/crafty kids would be excellent at helping them stay hidden if need be. 🙂
1) They had those cloaks (not that cloaks are much less conspicuous)
2) There was NO way I was going to pay another $1,000 for new outfits for them.
🙂
How did they manage to survive modern-day Egypt during the public riots against the former president? Certainly being “cosplayers” would not have flown high with the police curfew.
To Scott’s comment below: I first thought of how much it costs characters from games to purchase new clothing/outfits/armor/etc. Then I got it: You have to pay someone to design and draw the new outfits for each character.
To Xeiran: I would think that it is because the children who have visited Dreamland would not have recognize the two of them in any other garb. So it was to their advantage to maintain their recognizable features/garb. Otherwise, they could have ended up starving/getting completely lost, etc.
All of a sudden I got this terrible plot twist.
Dan really is one of the bad guys. As an elite Nightmare Realm boss, he somehow figured out the loophole to break Arthur’s curse was through twins. So it impregnates one of Arthur’s descendants to give birth to twins.
As a beast of the Nightmare Realm, it only makes sense that he can’t enter Dreamland, but is playing it coy the whole time.
With the ultimate hope that Alex overthrows Nicodemus, a portal is somehow reconstructed, and he can return as a “rightful” heir to the throne.
Let everyone else do the dirty work and just pull their strings as the adventure unravels.
Loose ends to tie: Eliminate King Oberon and Queen Titania, take out Merlin (you now have the sword:)), make sure that Alex is not expected to return home to mom and dad by saying the he has been lost in Egypt and is presumed dead, and make sure that Nastajia is killed while in the Nightmare Realm.
Alex’s other friends will mourn their deaths, but accept Dan’s right to rule because that is what has been expected.
:):):)
Or something simple, like a glamer. To adults they look like in normal clothes, but kids perceive them as what they really are. Nice simple solution for all sides.
A glamour is the perfect retcon, yep – hides one from adults while children would be able to see through it and offer help upon recognition. Although it’s still a tad farfetched they wouldn’t have acquired earth attire by now, nothing says they have to be wearing it at this moment.
Ok, I just found a problem… If the kids helped them back on earth, how come none of them told the dreamlanders that they had seen the king and queen back on earth?
aaaaargh – what a torture. *lol* but i gonna see how it makes sense when read in sequence. not spoonfed piece by piece a day. 😉
OMG – they eat CHILDREN??!!

is something up with Oberon’s left shoulder in the last panel?
Dan has horns. He’s the DEVIL! Muahahahahahaha….
Heh, more like a bad hair day. XP
This made me laugh a lot. And loud.
LOL!

Nah. Just in shadow.
yup, that’s a good reason!
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heh, you never wondered who Nicodemus’ boss is? 😉
You’re just going to have to suspend your disbelief on this one, I think. 🙂
This story began in waay too early for that to have been an issue. 🙂

So, can we all agree they’re not Nighmare Realm minions in disguise now? Their behavior just doesn’t make sense with that idea.

So they resorted to scavenging and, no Russ, they didn’t probably ate children but mayhaps the children helped them!!!!!
I like to see Sava do a rendering of Egyptian children and background! 😉
That’s one heck of an AU.
jonwaynew, that’s just brilliant.

Remember, it’s children, from all over the world, who visit Dreamland.

Why thank you. 🙂
*Takes to feet and bows*
