Happy Monday!
So… I’m thinking Alex at some point is going to exclaim “YOU’VE JUST BEEN UNICORNED!” when Nastajia does this…
My little Khajiit can do something similar with frost bolts in Skyrim, it’s rather fun 🙂
I hope Alex says that sometime! 😀
On another note, I think that Alex and Nastajia look more than a little puzzled that the beasties know Orion’s work. 🙂
The angle of the arrow in the skull of the nightmare beast is off in the last panel. The angle for the point of entry IS correct for the positioning of the skull in the second panel…if it’s head weren’t shown being pushed backwards from the force. It maybe needs to be rotated 45 degrees “back” to match the knock-back?
I don’t understand. The arrow hit his forehead dead center. The fourth panel shows his head snapping back from the blow.
Yeah, you called it. That’s also the first nit-pick that came to my mind (alas, I came to late).
OMG! I just LOL’ed from your comment Scott. Good thing I work from home otherwise everyone would be staring at me. 🙂
I think part of it is a matter of perspective…in yesterday’s panel, it would seem that Alex is flying UPWARD toward Nastajia…if the arrow struck the beast dead center, then it would indicate (based on the angle of the arrow in the fourth panel) that the shot came from below.
From my perspective, it would seem that the first panel is somewhat of a downward shot showing Alex arriving from below (yesterday we see him flying up)…Nastajia manages to twist around and fire a shot DOWN towards the beasts on Alex…if that’s the case, then the angle for the point of entry is off in the fourth panel.
However, if she is shooting from below then the angles do match.
What? How do they know Orion trained him?
ExPaladin: Probably that he can still fly as an adult.
Dang, that girl’s quick! Didn’t waste a single moment of the enemy’s distraction.
oh great, just understood it’s an arrow.
It looks more like a horn to me.
How Nastajia use the bow when the beasts are holding her hands?
(Nastajia’s score in archery: +100)
its great to see the reflections in Alex armor.good work scott!
My thoughts exactly until I saw Nastajia’s hand on the bow string.
I was going to say the same thing. I know it’s fantasy, but if Nastajia being carried away by a mob, I’m surprised she still has her bow, let alone enough room to fire a shot, let alone in Alex’s general direction, let alone a head shot.
Hmmm my thought was Nastajia allowed herself to be captured to make Alex forget about being scared. Once that happened and he took flight, she broke free to protect her guy.
She’s pretty badass. I don’t see her just passively being flown away–she’s as hardcore protective of Alex as he is of her. I can totally see her squirming her arms free and shooting her bow.
Seems more of a “Boom! Headshot!” moment to me.
Nastajia looks pretty … ticked off!
I think what is throwing everyone is that we see the “pointy end” of the arrow. Usually, that end is facing away from the bow-person ;). If she is in front of the demon, shooting towards his face, then the position of the head makes sense.
I would guess an arrow that lacks a nock and fletching uses elven magic for those functions. Much like Alex’s sword that always finds its way back to the owner. Crafty folk, those elves. =)
I was thinking the same thing, worry more about the angry elf than the arrow… the arrow’s spent, she’s just getting started 😉
You haven’t upgraded to Ice Spears yet?
Ice Spear is pretty much my go-to Destruction spell of choice, even when more enemies are resistant to Frost than any other element… main reason behind that the huge glowy spike makes finding the body to loot much easier. =D
