Page 1655…
Happy all!
So, I had to work hard to get this page just right. Every time we see some place or some person for the first time… it’s a lot of extra work.
Sorry for the delay.
Also…
Looking at yesterday’s page and today’s page. What do you think of the grammar and wording of today’s page?
I’m not sure if it’s 100% correct.
Thoughts?

The language looks (and sounds) just fine to me!
Beautiful page. 🙂
Sounds fine to me, as well.
First thought: “Cool! Temple Run”
Second thought: “Where’s Indiana Jones when you need him?”
Based on Mayan architecture?
Sounds like a perfect job for an expert thie. . .er. . .TREASURE HUNTER! (Yeah, that’s it, “Treasure Hunter”!) :p
I expect a “tomb raider” entrance from “the last of the Tigrin race”.
Also don’t forget:
VOTE FOR THE COMIC!
Still no12 🙁

Wait…no human has entered and lived? So either little kids go in there and are killed in dreamland, or…???
Grammatically? You shouldn’t use “nor” when there’s more than two in a list. And it doesn’t really apply here, anyway. It’s sort of the negative equivalent of “either, or” (neither, nor”). Just plain “or” will work fine.
“Well, in you go! Good luck.”
Also, should be “OR”, not “NOR”
Well now, I guess this is where they need a skilled and nimble acrobatic thief? 😀
Great page! I take it then, that only a Tigrin might enter and live. I wonder if this was known when they were giving Felicity her assignment. Impressive place there, and it’s nice to know that there are some places even the wraiths fear to tread.
The last one of her kind about to enter the Temple of the Ancients?
Oh, no, not again.
I dunno… “no one” seems to preclude even Tigrins from surviving. Also, agree with above comments on “or” instead of “nor”. And “has” is correct since there is only “one” referred to in the first part of the sentence.
Great comic!
But the biggest question of all…
Can Felicity assemble the three piece statue in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey?!
Anyone who gets this joke, congratulations on being old. XD
woot! fire up your ocarina and grab your Navi, we’s a-goin temple trawling!
oh man, wisps of memory, but i can’t recall–
heh, guess I’m not that old yet!
or I’m so old I’ve forgotten.
…
a quick google search says it’s apparently the latter. bleep.
To be fair, the temple didn’t kill Aeris. It was just the last place you could use her before she ran off ahead like an idiot, and got herself stabbed.
LEGENDS…. OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE!
Go Green Monkeys 😀
And yes, for some reason that stupid statue was impossible for half the kids to understand. Dude, the feet do not go above the stomach. Stop doing that.
Maybe the clue is that to achieve what you want you have to actually ENTER the temple.
Rats! … you DON’T have to enter …
I was going to say just about the same thing.
send in Cait Sith and let it collapse on him. That ought to do it.
Does the temple look either Mayan or Aztec?
I support the “nor” statements, or you can say,
…none have entered, be they Dreamlander, Human, or Nightmare Beast, and lived.
Using ‘no one’ I feel is more in reference to primarily humans.
That said, “No beings…” works too.
*Steps off soapbox and goes back to chair.
Whoops!!
“No being…” works too.
And is it possible to pull Felicity’s eyelids on yesterday’s panel down just a little bit. She looks like a plastic doll with wide-open eyes.
I LOVE the temple!! It was worth the wait!!!
Loved that show! We didn’t have cable so I made sure to watch it whenever we went on vacation and the hotel *did* have it. 😛
Ooh ooh, are they going to have to waltz through a series of dangerous flying flames/weapons in order to get to the treasure at the end of the room?
Nerd points, anyone?
Will update about mid-morning tomorrow.
In case anyone was wondering…
The cat-people models have a bad material that I can’t track down.
This means I can’t network render.
So all renders are on ONE machine. So it’s 1/3 of rendering power.
Oh. And I changed “nor” to “or” as suggested.
Thank you guys!
In her defense, she had been conditioned to believe that death is just a temporary setback. That sort of thing is bound to lead to reckless behavior. It was just her bad luck to be killed in a cinematic sequence, outside battle.
Was an epic show, now THAT was a good game show! I miss both it and Double Dare.
I love this! Just the perfect challenge for one such as Felicity!
It’s the Temple of Elemental Evil all over again! <:O
🙂
LOL! 🙂 My husband is playing through VII for me right now, and we just got past that scene this weekend (and I felt the same way as you did about her running off on her own).
Holy crap! I LOVED that show!! 🙂
And I’m not “old.” I’m “just right,” thank you very much. 😛
At least it’s not the Water Temple.
I see a bigger problem with the grammar.
“Noone has entered….and lived.”
How does he know that they died? Either 1) The Ikati kill them, 2) the Ikati see every corpse, or 3) he’s dramatically stating something he doesn’t know. Maybe there is an exit he doesn’t know about or a portal to somewhere else.
In addition, the whole idea of human children dying inside is problematic. Does that mean they die in real life? That they can’t return to Dreamland? I don’t think Scott wants to open that can of worms.
For the chieftan not to be mistaken, he would have to say “Noone has entered….and returned.” Just as dramatic, without the problems.
My theory: There’s still a thriving Tigrin community. They are just more subterranean now as they have found a ginormous cavern a la Journey to the Center of the Earth, and the temple is actually the heavily guarded entrance to the passageways that lead there.
When others venture in, the Tigrin (to preserve the secret) never allow them to leave, instead allowing them to live out the rest of their lives down there.
Which was, itself, based on Teotihuacano architecture. Talud-tablero, they call it.
