Yeah, the lad really knows how to insert his foot in his mouth and wriggle his toes… If he’d been allowed to read more of Dan’s chronicles, this may not have come to pass.
Nastajia has been keeping her emotions under strict control for a very long time – at least since her parents disappeared and probably longer. She had a couple hours’s notice before actually seeing Alexander, else we might have seen some very different emotions cross her face. Actually, we’re seeing her heart break over Alex for the second time – the first was when she thought he died all those years ago. He got over it as “just a dream” – for her it was all too real and she cannot forget. Oh, sure – her parents tried to tell her that eventually all human children stop coming to Dreamland. But she saw him enter the cave alone, and heard the dragon’s shouts. To see him again now, woke up her capacity for love…only to have it shattered all over again.
Poor Nastajia; I so want to give her a hug in Panel 3. And smack Alex upside the head for being obtuse. Good job with the evocative expressions, Scott!

that style of armor is so 2006-8.
So beautiful and sad. And mysterious. And promising.
What’s this cracking sound? Oh, it’s her heart breaking.
(panel 3)Is that…? I think it is! Its actual EMOTION!
Does she actually feel sorry for him?
Poor Nastajia. First, she thinks he’s dead for 8 years, then he returns and doesn’t remember anything!

I feel bad for everyone involved when reading these pages
Been a while since I read these pages.

Is that a Skin Horse Gravtar?
just like diamonds, armor is forever!
Aw, Nastajia looks so hurt in that next-to-last panel…
So diamond armor would last twice forever?
